Chapter 13 - Trapped

"Sure!"

"Uncle, I will never be mistaken about it; it is exactly similar to the small piece we had previously."

"And not only is the piece of bloodstone here bigger but there are three of them embedded in that unknown throne."

Both of them were looking at the bloodstone from a distance with expectation, as they had finally found it.

Apollo also noticed the direction in which they were looking and understood from the expression that they had found the thing that they were looking for.

But after that, he started to look around, and everything around him, even the bricks and tiles on the floors, seemed to be made of a rare material he had never seen.

Seeing this, he could not help but think the ancients were rich; even their trash could be a great treasure for them. If they now sell a few bricks from here, they might earn good money.

They slowly walked toward the center, where the giant altar stood tall. But just as they came close enough, something unexpected happened.

Bang!...

The floor beneath them started to glow with various cryptic symbols, and an unknown, mysterious energy covered the entire underground place.

"What the hell is happening?"

All of them could not understand anything and were shocked by the big movement in the underground place.

But this was far from over as the mysterious energy that covered them changed and turned into a transparent wall, which seemed to be trapping them within the weird underground place.

Seeing this, everyone's mood changed, and they started to feel anxious about the sudden change.

"Did we just get trapped here?"

As the floor stopped glowing, all of them looked around to see that the whole underground ruin was covered in barriers.

"Go see."

Immediately, soldiers spread out to try to see if they could leave this place. They quickly came close to the barrier, and one soldier attacked with his sword.

Bang!

The barrier remained motionless without a single movement, but the sword of the soldier was knocked backward by a strong opposite force.

"This!"

The soldier was surprised, and he did not believe in evil. He used his strongest prana skill and slashed the barrier, but just like before, it did nothing; instead, an equally devastating force knocked him down.

Boom!

All of them quickly came to help seeing this and were gravely looking at the veil that was trapping them.

"This veil-like barrier not only seems to hold our attacks but even can reflect that attack towards us."

Master Aaron said as he understood the kind of barrier that had covered them.

"Yes, uncle, you are right; this is a special force barrier that is difficult to break through; it is even mentioned in ancient books."

Roseate said as she walked to her uncle at the edge of the barrier veil with a serious expression on her face.

"So, Lady Roseate, did the book also mention how to break this veil?"

On the other side, Grandpa William came and asked, as this place seemed dangerous and all of his soldiers were feeling anxious trapped in this weird underground ruin with an altar.

"No, that book was in fragments, and most of it was lost."

She also wanted to know that and assure them, but the truth was sad. She did not have much knowledge about this barrier and the altar behind it.

In truth, that altar was the main thing that was giving her bad signals. In the history of Rion, most altars like this do not represent good things, which is why she was also feeling a little anxious.

Hearing this, everyone feels bad that even Miss Roseate, who is known for her vast knowledge, did not know how to break this veil barrier.

"Don't worry, I am here. You all be alright. Even if the veil can reflect our attacks with full force, there has to be a limit to how much it can handle; we just needed to attack with such strength that it was beyond its capability."

Looking at everyone's mental condition, Master Aaron said these to boost their morale, as he is one of the strongest people in the kingdom, and this veil would not be able to stop him.

"Uncle, I think we should not directly attack the veil to destroy it, as it may lead to activating other traps; only in the worst-case scenario should we take that step."

"And before all of that, we should look at the altar and the bloodstone there, and maybe we will find other ways to leave."

Roseate interrupted her uncle as she felt it was still risky to do that, and they still have some options available here, so it is best to solve the problem without brute force.

Everyone agreed after hearing her opinions, as they should not be hasty in these ruins, where who knows how many dangers and traps are hidden in them? They all carefully walked step by step, looking at every brick and tile on the floor, hoping not to activate some other mechanisms.

After a few minutes of carefully walking around, they finally came close to the altar, which was giving them a creepy feeling.

Apollo was silent throughout the whole scenario, as there was not much he could do in such a situation as he was just a talented young kid, but here it was of no use.

But looking at the altar, the only thing important was the glowing bloodstones on the throne, which were practically screaming, This is a trap, but he did not say anything.

He is not the only one who understands this; most of them understand it, and whether this is a trap or not matters here the most.

Master Aaron and Miss Roseate came to this backward place for these bloodstones, which seem very important to them since they have been trying to find them for many years.

And now that blood stones were just ahead of them, how could they leave them behind when they were right in front of them? What is more important is whether they are really in trouble. Apollo did not think that.

How can one of the strongest people in the kingdom, who stands above millions of people, be stopped by some barrier?

At that time, Master Aaron said as he walked towards the throne inlaid with the bloodstones.

"I am going to take out the bloodstone; be ready."

Everyone became careful and held their weapons tightly as they might face dangers.

Master Aaron came close to the throne, releasing a bloody aura because of the bloodstones, and without waiting, he quickly grabbed the bloodstone.

The moment Master Aaron grabbed the bloodstone. "This?"
