Hello fellow masters in arms, sorry it took long for this ch. I will try to post new ch monthy. I do not own anything in this Xover beside my OC's
The energy that the boy felt was slowly fading as they left the park. After Kio finished lunch with Koneko, excusing himself, "I think I should head home. It was really nice to meet you, big sis." He cited that with a false smile. "I enjoyed the short time we had together and the food was the best I ever had. You are new to town, correct? Next time I'll show you around to the best places to eat." Koneko states. Packing up his bento box, the boy responds with a simple "I appreciate that." They both leave in different directions.
As he leaves the park, he activates the presence concealment, the skill he had honed from years of training with the Hassans, allowing him to hide his existence and go unnoticed. He shadowed the couple that he felt the energy from, keeping a safe distance. His senses remained alert, noting every detail of their interaction. The boy seemed ordinary enough, though the draconic energy surrounding him intrigued Kio, but what worried him the most was the girl. She has the same aura as a fallen angel, but he also felt evil energy coming off of her. He decided to follow them, curious to uncover the nature of this odd pair.
While following them, his communicator alerted to an incoming call. "Yes Leonardo, what is it?" he questioned. (Speaking into his earpiece.) "It's getting late, where are you?" She said with a hint of concern. "Something came up. I'll have to deal with it." He responded. Leonardo, inside the kitchen of their home, gets on her computer to pinpointing his location, "What kind of "something" are you dealing with?" she asked, continuing to type as the black cat curls on her lap, purring.
"I've been following two energy signatures. One belongs to a fallen angel, and the other might be a potential Sacred Gear user. I think this is something serious." he explained. Leonardo sighed on the other end. "Kio, we came to this town to have a normal life. You promised we'd keep a low profile." "I know," Kio admitted, "but I have a bad feeling about this." She lies back on her chair, her attitude made a complete one-eighty degree turn. "KIO! You are not a hero. You did not train for ten years to risk your live for the sake of complete strangers. The business of others is none of our concern." In a serious tone.
"I understand and you are right, but at the same time, wouldn't you say that letting evil run amok would betray everything I was taught? This is none of our business, but I am sorry to say that I have to make this mine. I won't let what happened to me befall on another." Leonardo sighed, but made a big grin. "I love it when I know I am right. Alright Kio, for this mission that you have accepted, your objective is to follow the fallen and see what she is planning. Commence Operation Dirty Dead Birdie" she continues, Kio hears a mechanical humming. A small metal bird perched itself on top of his head. *Chirp*
"How long has your bird been following me?" He questions. "All day!" she smiled. "ALL DAY!!!" He repeated. The realization of the mechanical bird left him worried, "Delete it, delete all the recordings!!!" He said slightly aggressive. "Oh come on, Why? You were sooo cute when you're acting all innocent and childlike. You fill mommy's heart with soo much joy when you enjoy my cooking, *XD*. Remind me again who taught you acting, was it Nero, Phantom, Mata Hari, Yan Qing, maybe Sherlock?" she giggled.
"STOP!!! Delete the recordings. NOW!!!" he commanded. "OK,OK. Don't get your panties in a knot." *Keyboard Clicks* "There, Done." She lied.
"Right!? Where are they right now?" the boy asked with a hint of doubt. "They are a few feet ahead, due north. Heading towards the residential area." She responds while typing, vigorously. Kio continues to follow the couple while Leonardo has eyes in the sky.
The couple arrives at a two story house, "Thanks for walking me home, Issei. You are quite the gentlemen. Hehe," the black hair girl said while walking toward the door. "No problem Yuuma, What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't walk my girl home safely." Issei said with a prideful, but goofy grin. "My Hero!" Yuma said wickedly sweetly. The boy heads out on his way as they wave at each other. The girl on the other hand looks around the premises, like she is keeping an eye out for something. As she walks towards the backyard, Kio makes his way to get closer, trying to listen to any conversations around the house, but it is DEAD silent. A peculiar smell caught Kio's attention, one he is all too familiar with. His senses could make-out what exactly it was, a scowl grew on his face and clenched his hands so tightly that blood drips from his grip.
*SYNCHRONIZATION: 100% >>> COALESCENCE: 10%*
A noise echoed through the air as the girl unfurled her wings and took flight. Kio was quick to react. "Leonardo, I'll follow her to see where she's heading. Please handle things here," he said, his voice cold and determined."UNDERSTOOD. Be careful!" she responded. Kio sprinted after the girl, using his heightened senses of smell and hearing to track her while staying hidden. They moved swiftly through the city, into the forest outskirts, and arrived moments later at an abandoned church.
She descends into an opening of a broken window; Kio follows her inside, undetected. In the mass hall, aligned with chairs and benches, at the end of the hall stood a large cross on a stage, four fallen angels gather and conversing among themselves. Kio stayed close to the shadows, keeping a good distance to listen to what they were saying.
"How was school, honey? Made any new friends today? KeKeKe" a middle-aged man said with a sickening snicker. He gets up from his seat and walks closer to Yuma, his attire consists of a pale gray trench coat over a white dress shirt with a matching ascot, black pants, shoes, gloves, and a fedora. Before the man gets closer, Yuma thrust a light spear to his neck, but was blocked by his own spear.
"Temper~, Temper~. Anger ruins a petty face, Raynare." he said mockingly, revealing her true name. "FUCK-OFF! Dohnaseek. Or I will shove that stupid fedora up your ass." She said as she kept pushing her spear. A tall woman intervenes "That enough you two. Stop acting like a bunch of retarded prepubescent children on crack" her attire consists of a maroon business suit that exposes much of her ample cleavage, a matching mini skirt, black high-heeled shoes, and navy blue hair. "Ah come on Kalawarner, let them continue. I want to see at least one of them get skewered." The last girl laughs.
She is a petite, blond hair girl, wearing a black gothic lolita dress with white frills, thigh-high white stockings, black shoes and hair ribbon. Both Raynare and Dohnaseek disengage from each other, regaining their composure.
"The kid, is he a threat?" the man asked. "Don't know, don't care. I can feel the sacred gear in him but it is not active. Either way he will die. Just being around him makes me sick." Raynare said in a grotesque tone.
"But of course, humans are inferior beings compared to anything else, such as ourselves. They are so ugly, broken, and feeble, while we are perfection." The petite girl said while laughing, prideful. "Now, now Mittelt. All you said is true, but humans do have their uses, as sacrificial pawns." *Hehehe* Kalawarner responds, cruelly.
As they laugh at humanity's limitation, Kio's scowl turns into anger, his aura leaks out killing intent, but stopped by an incoming call. "Calm down Kio! You're starting to release energy; it will cancel out your concealment. As much as we need to kill these bastards, you are in a weakened state." Leonardo said though the ear piece. Kio takes a deep breath, his aura subsides "Alright, what do you suggest then?"
Leonardo continues typing on her computer, a 3D model of the church in flawless details appears before her. "It will be a while till I can send you some equipment. There is a hallway to your left, at the end there is a room full of junk. You might be able to find something in there." As Kio walks down the hall, he hears pieces of the fallen angel's conversation, the words "Ex-nun, Twilight Healing" and "Ritual" ring in his ear.
The kid arrives at the room, junk scattered all over the floor. Kio starts rummaging through the discarded items, "Did you find anything?" Leonardo questions. "I found quite a few things and I just know how to use them. Prepare for a slaughter!" He said with a diabolical smirk.
After a while, the four fallen angels were growing restless. Suddenly, a noise echoed throughout the empty church, breaking the tense silence. "Dohnaseek, go check it out," Raynare ordered, her voice dripping with impatience.
"Eh.....? Who died and made you bitch queen? He said with a disgusted face. The three female fallen angels threw their spears at him, barely missing by an inch. "Fine, fine, I'm going, I'll tear your hearts out and make you all choke on them!" he grumbled, dragging himself towards the source of the noise, which led him to the room full of junk. Reaching the room he scans the area, noticing an old shelf in shambles. A rat scurries across the room, right before it was stomped to a bloody mess.
Disgusted, Dohnaseek took a rag to wipe off his foot, his hand bumping into a glass bottle. "Ah, fuck ya! Tonight's gonna be a good night."
He popped the cork and proceeds to indulge in the Blood of Christ, drinking it all in one gulp. "That's the good shit." He slurred. "It's showtime," Kio whispered, as the man regroups with the others.
"So what was it?" Raynare demanded
"Don't get your butt-floss in a knot. It was nothing but a rat." Dohnaseek hiccupped. As they bicker with one another, Kio, concealed in the shadows atop the main cross on the altar, waiting. Every muscle coiled like a predator ready to strike. His breathing was steady, his mind sharp, and his intent deadly.
Kio's voice echoed through the vast, empty hall, "ANSUZ!"
The word reverberated like a death knell. The fallen angels instantly armed themselves, their spears crackling with malevolent energy as they instinctively formed a defensive circle, backs to one another. "Nothing but a rat, you said," Kalawarner mocked, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she glared at Dohnaseek,
"Shut the fuck up!" he snapped back, eyes darting around the room, Panic started to creep into his voice. The tension in the room was palpable, the air thick with impending doom. Kio's heart pounded in his chest from the thrill of the hunt.
The church, once a place of sanctuary, had become something else. The fallen angels were cornered, and they didn't even know it yet. Kio's presence was like a shadow, undetectable, yet suffocating. He was ready to unleash the chaos and make them pay for their sins in blood.
They continue to survey the room, silence creeps in the dim lit room. "Awaaaaage" Dohnaseek's expression twisted as he felt a searing, burning sensation deep in the pit of his stomach. His hands clutched his abdomen as the pain intensified, spreading through his body like wildfire. His skin began to sizzle, steam rising from his pores.
"What... what is this...?" he gasped, his voice barely a whisper as his eyes widened in terror.
Before anyone could react, flames erupted violently from his face, golden and fierce, consuming him in an instant. The fire licked hungrily at his flesh, and Dohnaseek's screams filled the air as he was engulfed entirely in a blazing inferno. His once formidable figure crumpled to the ground, writhing and convulsing as the golden flames devoured him from the inside out.
The other fallen angels recoiled in horror, their eyes wide with shock as they watched their comrade reduced to a wick. The flames illuminated the darkened church, casting eerie shadows across the walls, the scent of burning flesh thick in the air. Dohnaseek's screams slowly faded into a gurgling whimper, his body twitching one last time before collapsing into a smoldering heap, the golden fire still crackling around his charred remains.
"What the fuck!? He just… Was that FATHER'S DIVINE JUDGMENT? Kalawarner asked, fearing the worst.
"As expected" Kio was delighted with the results of the runic flames of Ansuz. Which took him years of hard work to barely understand it. He knew it was time to strike the next blow. "Ready for the next phase?" With a calm yet commanding tone, he called out, "RAIDO!" his words call out to his prey.
The word reverberated through the church like a thunderclap, and the very building seemed to shudder in response. The ground trembled, and the walls quivered as if an unseen force had gripped the entire structure. The remaining fallen angels, already shaken by Dohnaseek's fiery demise, were now gripped by terror. They glanced around, their eyes wide with fear, as the church began to groan and creak ominously.
Then, without warning, small objects—shards of metal exploded through the walls from every direction. The air was filled with the whizzing sound of deadly projectiles ricocheting off the stone walls, turning the church into a death trap.
Raynare and Kalawarner, driven by instinct, leaped into the air, their wings unfurling as they sought refuge above the chaos. They twisted and turned, desperately avoiding the deadly hailstorm. Even in their panic, they managed to dodge most of the flying debris, though not without consequence. Razor-sharp fragments slashed at their skin, leaving them with cuts and bruises. Blood trickled down their bodies as they hovered, struggling to maintain control amidst the carnage.
But Mittelt was not as fortunate.
Caught off guard by the sudden onslaught, she barely had time to react. The first shard tore through her arm, and then another ripped through her side, followed by a barrage of sharp fragments that tore into her body from all angles. Her screams of agony filled the air as her flesh was shredded, chunks of her body ripped away in the blink of an eye.
Her once vibrant form was reduced to a horrific sight—her body riddled with gaping holes, bones visible through the tattered remains of her flesh. Bronze-colored blood pooled around her as she collapsed, a gruesome heap of mangled flesh and shattered bone. The echoes of her screams lingered in the air, replaced only by the sickening sound of her lifeless body hitting the cold, hard floor.
Kalawarner, trembling with fear and disbelief, glanced at the mangled remains of Mittelt, her once proud composure shattered. Panic seized her as the reality of the situation sunk in—this was no ordinary battle, and this simple operation of theirs was far more dangerous than they had anticipated. Her survival instincts kicked in, and without thinking, she turned and bolted for the exit, desperate to escape the nightmare that had consumed them.
But she'll never make it.
As Kalawarner raced toward the church doors, Kio stood silently from his perch on the cross, his presence still undetected. With swift precision, he unfurled lines of piano wire, sending them snaking through the air like deadly tendrils. The wires found their target, wrapping tightly around Kalawarner's throat, cutting off her scream as she clawed at the thin, merciless strands. Dragging her back to the cross, Raynare attempted to break the wires with her light spear, but to no avail. She watches as the woman gets pulled away.
Her wings flapped frantically as she struggled to break free, her fingers scraping against the wire in a desperate attempt to loosen its grip. But the more she fought, the deeper the wires cut into her flesh, slicing through her skin with surgical precision. Blood trickled down her neck, staining her clothes as her vision blurred from the lack of oxygen.
From atop the cross, Kio tugged the wire with the slightest motion, and that was all it took.
Kalawarner's struggles ceased in an instant as the wire sliced cleanly through her neck, decapitating her with a sickening finality. Her head tumbled to the floor, eyes still wide with terror, while her body crumpled lifelessly to the ground, a fountain of blood spraying from the severed arteries. The church fell silent once more, save for the faint dripping of blood onto the cold stone floor.
Kio remained still, his expression unreadable as he uses his senses to observe the grim scene below. His meticulous plan had been executed flawlessly, but there was still one more target. He prepared for the final confrontation, knowing that Raynare, the last remaining fallen angel, would not escape her fate.
Raynare, now the last of her group, was gripped by terror and disbelief. Her breath came in ragged gasps as she conjured multiple light spears, her hands trembling as she hurled them wildly in every direction, desperate to hit anything—anyone—that could be responsible for this massacre. The glowing projectiles flew through the air, piercing the darkness, but they found no target.
Kio remained hidden, moving silently as a shadow. With cold precision, he picked up Kalawarner's severed head by her long, blood-soaked hair. Twirling it like a gruesome flail, he stepped into the open, his presence finally revealed.
Raynare's eyes widened in shock as she caught sight of the boy, but before she could react, the severed head struck her squarely in the abdomen with a sickening thud. The impact knocked the wind out of her, and she crumpled to the ground, her light spears dissipating into the air as she fell face down.
Pain surged through Raynare's body, but before she could even attempt to rise, she felt a foot press down on her back, between the neck and the spine, pinning her to the cold stone floor. Kio's expression was devoid of emotion as he took out a crowbar, his movements deliberate and methodical. He placed the straight end of the crowbar against the back of Raynare's head, positioning it with unerring accuracy.
Raynare's body trembled, her heart pounding in her chest as she realized what was about to happen. Kio raised his fist.
*Hanbin – Style, Thrust Art: Hammer Down*
With a single, brutal motion, Kio brought his clenched fist down on the crowbar like a hammer striking a nail. The force drove the crowbar through Raynare's skull, shattering bone and piercing through flesh. Blood pooled around her head, spreading across the floor in a dark, sticky puddle.
The excruciating pain left Raynare conscious but completely paralyzed, her body refusing to obey her desperate commands. Her mind a haze of agony and disbelief. She was powerless, utterly at the mercy of her attacker, and she knew her end was near.
Kio stood over her, cold and unfeeling as he surveyed the aftermath of his work, the smell of charcoal and chlorine filling the air from the fallen angels' corpses. There was no satisfaction, no joy in his expression—only the relentless, methodical execution of a mission. The fallen angels had paid the price for their crimes, and now, Raynare face her final judgment.
Kio crouched down beside Raynare's bloodied head, his face expressionless as he sensed the flicker of life still clinging to her broken body. Her breaths were shallow, her eyes dull with the fading light of consciousness, yet some part of her still grasped at the thread of existence. He leaned in close, his voice low and cold, delivering his parting words. "The first rule of war: don't end up in enemy territory and then get caught off guard."
Raynare's gaze barely flickered in response, but Kio didn't expect her to react. She was too far gone, her body too shattered to muster any resistance. He straightened up, rummaging through his pockets until he pulled out several small glass stones, each one gleaming faintly in the dim light. With precise precision, he scattered them around the room, setting the final stage of his plan.
As Kio walked toward the church's main door, he paused, turning to the fallen angel lying amidst the carnage. "If you want to blame someone," he said, his voice hardening, "blame yourself for your own stupidity. ANSUZ!"
The glass stones flared to life, releasing an intense golden flame that surged through the church, engulfing everything in its path. The ancient structure was quickly consumed by the inferno, the heat so intense that the very air seemed to ripple with it. Kio stepped outside, the roaring flames at his back, and was about to make his way back when Leonardo's tiny mechanical bird perched on his shoulder, its chirps echoing in his ear.
"Good work, disturbing but good work. The way you use the wine, rune stones, piano wire, and pieces of rebar was creative. Now come back home, dinner is getting cold," Leonardo's voice came through the bird, her tone light but edged with a hint of weariness. The bird suddenly screeched, its alarmed cries filling the air. Kio's instincts flares up, but it was too late.
Before Kio could react, green, slime-like tendrils burst out of the roaring flames, lashing through the air with unnatural speed. The bird shattered into pieces as one of the tendrils struck it, and another slammed into Kio, sending him flying back into the forest with bone-jarring force.
Back in the flaming ruins of the church, a grotesque figure emerged from the fire—a disheveled, decaying corpse of flesh and slime, its form barely recognizable. The creature let out an unholy screech, a sound so terrifying that it sent shivers throughout the forest.
With a sickening squelch, the abomination pulled the crowbar straight through its own forehead, sliding out of grotesque ease. The creature's body convulsed and twisted, it's broken form beginning to mend itself in the most unnatural way. The slime receded, the flesh knitting back together, and the twisted corpse slowly restored itself to a semblance of its former self.
As the last remnants of decay melted away, Raynare stood there, completely unharmed (except for the X shape scar on her forehead), but something about her was different. Her eyes glowed with a newfound power, and as she unfurled her wings. Where there had once been two, now there were eight.
"MWAHAHAHA-MUWHAHAHA-BWAHAHAHA"
She laughs, while feeling her body surge with more energy. "This… this is… TRUE POWER! I have finally become who I was meant to be. I can take on heaven itself. But first where is the fuckin brat!?" She searched the area the Kio fell to, but he is nowhere to be seen.
"*Tsk* He got away. Well it doesn't matter anyways, with this new power; I can take this whole city for myself. Not even the Gremory, Sitri, nor the current Demon Lords can stop me." As if she has lost her mind, Raynare takes to the sky and heads straight for the city.
Kio, still hidden behind the tree, waiting for her energy to fade. His mind raced, trying to figure out how this happened. "This is bad. I lost communication with Leonardo and now there is a power hungry lunatic running riot. Is this all I can do? Have I reached my limitations?" He clenches his teeth. "NO!!! I'll keep fighting." His body was injured, and his arm throbbed with intense pain, but he couldn't let her rampage through the city unchecked.
The city came into view beneath Raynare. She flew above Kuoh with reckless abandon, her eyes locked on her target below. But before she could make her move, something slammed into her with the force of a freight train. Raynare's eyes widened in shock as she was sent spiraling toward the ground, crashing into the park with a thunderous impact. Dust and debris filled the air as she gets out of the crater.
Koneko stood atop the park's fountain, her expression cold and resolute. She cracked her knuckles, her eyes narrowing as she stared down the fallen angel. "What do you think you are doin?" she declares, her voice steady and determined.
Raynare snarled as cracks her neck, her eyes narrowing at the petite girl who dared to challenge her. "You're going to regret that, little pussy."
The air grew heavy with tension as the two prepared to clash, but before Raynare could make her move, a surge of red energy lit up the park. Rias Gremory and the rest of her peerage appeared, their faces set in grim determination.
"You've trespassed on my domain, Fallen Angel. Surrender now or face the consequences." Rias said, her voice carrying authority.
Raynare's eyes darted between them, her expression one of manic glee. "You think you can stop me? I'm invincible! I'll blast you all into smithereens"
Without warning, the battle erupted. Raynare lunged at Koneko with a wild scream, her wings propelling her forward with blinding speed. Koneko met her head-on, their clash sending shockwaves through the park.
Rias and her peerage moved into action, each of them using their unique abilities to keep Raynare at bay. Akeno called down bolts of lightning, while Kiba dashed around, striking with precision.
The confrontation with the fallen angel had begun, and Kio was determined to end what he started.
