The Lycan quickly turned around and looked at me deeply, "Hell! Of course not !" he shouted.
"It's just- can you not suddenly turn around while naked like a newborn baby to me!" I pleaded while covering my eyes with the palms of my hands
"Then you should focus on my upper body, not my lower part Miss!" he replied sarcastically, making me feel like a pervert.
Whether he came as a savior or an enemy, my mind was constantly racing. The punch already formed in my hand could have been unleashed if he had good intentions, but I couldn't ignore the roasting that accompanied his threatening aura with every move.
Had he not been the key to my salvation, I wouldn't have hesitated to unleash this punch with such irritation. His domineering handsome face with a piercing gaze made my heart race in a combination of surprise and annoyance.
"Thanks for helping me out of the cave," I said properly, with palms still covering my eyes.
"No problem. If your mind, you can repay me one day."
"What do you want me to pay for? Money?" I asked then peeked at him
I could hear the sound of footsteps approaching me. His naked figure became clear enough that I didn't dare peek at him anymore. My blood rushed as soon as his hand began to touch mine, then lifted it so I could see his handsome face more closely. The lycan lowered his head and started sniffing my neck lustfully.
"Well, why don't you pay me with your body?" he whispered the rizz.
I could only stand petrified, shivering, and my mouth open in a silent gasp at his aggressive behavior on our first encounter. He who teased me only smirked and turned into a wolf again, then ran away.
"Wait! Hey you!" I shouted, then grumbled and labeled Lycan as a jerk in my mind.
Although I felt disgusted by his bad manners, I still felt indebted to him. Ever since meeting him, I couldn't help but feel a strange connection with him.
Maybe it was the adrenaline, or maybe it was something else, but I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something special about this creature.
' Do I feel that way because he's hot? '
I shook my head and slapped my cheek, "Forget it, stupid girl!"
'I hope this is the last time I meet a jerk like him! '
Given that Lycan had also left, I started cleaning my clothes from the mud in the parts that could be cleaned while looking around.
It had become dark in the forest, I was wet and my hair was matted and dreadlocked from the muddy water. Bone-chilling cold infiltrates through every linen of my wet and sticky clothes.
The twilight sun created warm colors among the trees, but unfortunately, the warmth was unable to penetrate my soaked clothes. The mud clung tightly to my army cargo pants, creating an extra weight that made every movement more difficult.
*Squeak* *Squeak*
I walked with unsteady steps amidst the leafy trees, away from the dark place where I had fallen. The sound of mud sagging beneath my steps provided a rhythm that contrasted with the silence of the surroundings.
I tried to maintain my balance among the tree roots that rose beneath my steps. Each time my feet hit the ground, dry and wet mud simultaneously slipped off the soles of my shoes, leaving an inescapable trail on my path.
Darkness crept in every time the sun dipped behind the treetops. As the twilight faded, I felt as if this forest was a separate world untouched by time.
A thin mist began to appear between the trees, creating a mystical atmosphere that deepened the impression of the forest's stillness. I kept walking, even though my arms and legs were starting to feel stiff from fatigue.
With every step I took, I tried to get rid of unnecessary thoughts about the Lycan, but those thoughts turned into annoyance towards Susan. Damn! This wouldn't have happened if I hadn't camped out for my cousin's bachelorette party.
"You have to pay for this Susan!"
I felt the vibration of muddy sap in my cargo pants, reminding me of the silliness I had just experienced in the cave. Instinctively, I observed the sound of raucous giggling from the group of women not too far from where I was standing.
I walked closer to the source of the sound. I saw my cousin and her friends having fun in the distance. They were laughing loudly, sharing stories and excitement, as if nothing had happened. For a moment, I felt mad and irritated.
Their faces beaming with happiness only made my irritation flare up even more. Watching my cousin joyfully laugh beside the campfire makes me feel like slapping her and pushing her into that underground cave!
This baby-faced girl, whose height is less than 160 cm, came to me with a judgmental look on her face.
" Clara, where have you been?"
" Ew...you're wet and smelly!"
With a deep breath, I began to speak sarcastically in an exasperated tone, "Oh, forgive me, O perfect human! It's as if your life is flawless. Never getting dirty, never feeling the rain!"
" Rain? It's not raining here! " Susan mumbling
"It's not important. Now, where are the mushrooms? why did it take you so long to find a mushroom? " Susan exclaimed, covering her nose.
I wanted so badly to reprimand her, to tell her how difficult the adventure had been, how deep the underground cave had forced me to face fear and uncertainty.
" Screw you, Susan! Is your mind only filled with mushrooms?"
"You know what? If you had helped me find the mushroom, I wouldn't have fallen into an underground cave!" I shout at her with all my nerves.
She bounced happily on her tiptoes, making her long straight blonde hair flow slightly in the air. Her hazel doe eyes gleamed, widening with excitement as she exclaims "Holy shit! did you say an underground cave? "
"Why didn't you tell me? Hey, let's go to that place!" she added.
" Living in a bar makes your brain cells turn clear Susan"
" I hoped that by going out to breathe the air in the wild, they would evolve a new brain cell. But you chose to stay the same, Susan!"
Ignoring my sarcastic comment, she giggled and said, "Aw, come on! At least you're safe now. I know you wouldn't die that easier…because you're the only former scout here".
In a calm yet firm tone, I raised my voice and asked, "Then why did you choose the mountain forest for your bachelorette party while I have to handle everything?"
Her answer was a whimper, and in the corners of her eyes, tears began to well up, eventually rolling down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry " she stammered, her voice trembling with emotion.
"It just... I want to spend my last moments with my beloved beside me! This place has sentimental value to me as I've visited here many times with my family."
"Furthermore, there is an exquisite star sparkling above us in this area" Then, she cried out loudly.
The words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of her emotions. I took a deep breath after hearing her explanation. The forest, with its towering trees and the distant sounds of nature, had been a witness to her cherished memories.
Everyone embraced and affectionately pat her head, except for me. Subsequently, everyone began to give me angry looks.
" Aren't you ashamed of your behavior?"
"What? I'm trying to be nice here" I said, clueless.
"It was your fault for not being careful when walking in the forest, so please stop blaming Susan!" yelled Vanessa, Susan's best friend from high school.
Everyone nodded and agreed with Vanessa's statement.
I felt furious when I heard that sharp voice cut through her solitude. I squinted, trying to contain the anger that was burning inside me.
"Oh, please stop!" I thought, even though my heart was burning even more by the words spoken.
"You must apologize to Susan for breaking her fragile little heart!"
" Wait, what? I'm the one at a disadvantage here."
"She's too whiny anyway, I'm just giving her advice to make her more sane."
They widened their eyes, while Susan was still sobbing. then Susan held Vanessa who kept pushing me as if I was the guilty one.
"Never mind, it's my fault. I shouldn't have brought you here."
"Susan, she fell while looking for mushrooms, it was her fault. It's not your fault. "
"Yeah, at least you should be the happiest one here."
"That's right, look at that old lady. She's even acting like a child over a trivial matter," added another friend while looking at me sharply.
In the end, I still looked like the guilty one here. I approached Susan and talked to her nicely while apologizing. I tried to smile awkwardly, but the feeling of tension and anxiety still lingered in my heart.
As my eyes looked at Susan surrounded by her best friends, who were full of empathy and warmth. It looks like I've already given a ten-minute on how to be a villainess at your terrible cousin's bachelorette party.
Right now, I can only swallow hard and remember the two weeks before this fucking day...
