With little time on hand, Nvr darted across the old stone bridge, with Vinea's vine shield bashing against it in her haste, causing it to crumble and shake. But it luckily still stood as their exit away from the castle.
As the bio weapon crashed through the doors that stood in the way of her friend and radar, she heard a chilling laughter fill the halls. Yet with Avis by her side, it was more like a beacon to whatever lurked.
"The laughing is coming from below." The blind harpy squawked. Nvr looked back at Vinea and ordered him to create a gigantic ball of vines. He complied and before Nvr, stood a gigantic mass of swirling vines all coalesced into an oversized mace.
"Stand back... Please." She asked with a politer sounding version of her usually creepy voice. Avis and Vinea both slowly stepped back and watched (well Vinea watched) as Nvr grabbed the mace of vines and swung it around before using the momentum to launch herself into sky above, crashing through the ceiling.
"What's happening?" Avis asked the awestruck Vinea. Though his awe soon turned into concern as he realised just how much power would be behind the strike Nvr was about to use. "Nvr is about to blow up the castle. So... SHIELD!"
With a few notes from her guitar, Avis summoned a shield of spiritual feathers to protect themselves as Nvr came crashing down from the ceiling, destroying most of the building in the process along with the floor, dropping everyone into a now ever more ruined dungeon.
"Mollia's name... How the hell are we alive?" Vinea said with a chuckle, helping Avis up as the dust slowly began to clear. Nvr quickly regenerated from the impact, not exactly new to causing mass destruction to both herself and the surrounding area.
As Vinea went off to explore deeper, Nvr pulled him back with an inky finger over what would be considered her mouth. "I feel as though we are being watched..."
"No shit. There's a head right there." He said, pointing to the head that was rolling out from the wreckage. Avis let out a playful chirp and played a few notes on her guitar, causing a gust of wind to blow the head over to Nvr's feet.
"Is it dead?" She questioned as she picked it up with a curious look. Before she knew it the head dug its teeth into her hand, though it wasn't really effective. "Let me go, you dead thing!" The head yelled, trying its best to get out of Nvr's grip.
Without so much as a second thought, Nvr ran a finger over the detached head. "Ruptured Shambles."
In an painful scream, the head exploded into hundreds of small meaty chunks that splattered over the Bio Weapon's face. "I don't think that was needed." Vinea sighed, wiping a bit of rotted brain out of his hair. Though Avis was rather calm about the whole thing, as her attention was more focused on the random body without a head that was still moving under a pile of rubble.
But as another chilling laugh was heard, she decided the body could wait and the three quickly ran through the darkest dungeon.
Pit awakened to see hundreds of different still beating hearts all stacked in a pile. He tried to reach for his sword, yet found his arms bound in chains. As he glanced around teh ruins of the tourture chamber, he saw a weird bat thing with chains for wings and a well dressed man with a fleshy grey fox mask locked in a cage beside him.
"Hey, Fox guy. Where the hell are we?" He asked with a slight twinge of urgency in his usual calm, collected tone. Yet the fox masked man didn't respond, but he seemed just as confused as him. Pit let out a groan, continuing to eye around the room to see his lantern sitting on the remains of what was once a table.
"Whip. Whip... Whip!" He called out, only getting silence in response. Silence was all he seemed to get really, only really broken by the bat creature's occasional beeping.
"DAMN IT!" He yelled in frustration as he dangled a few feet off the ground. But as he shut his eyes to concentrate on his Ego, he opened them to see that the fox masked man had already managed to escape.
The masked man stood directly in front of him and raised a fleshy blade like hand. Pit braced himself only to fall to the ground, his restraints still tight around his wrists. It seemed he had made an ally for a brief moment as the masked man helped him up off the floor.
With an unspoken agreement formed, Pit grabbed his lantern as the Fox freed the bat creature that was beeping more frequently. Pit began trying to summon Whip again, yet the ghost seemed to refuse the call. It was lightly aggravating, but he figured he'd chew her out after they'd escaped.
As they went to leave the torture chamber, something big burst through the doors, weakening the structure even more. Pit quickly reached for his Katana, only to be stopped by the Fox as three figures emerged from the dust.
"Do you just like crashing through walls?" Vinea laughed as the ever looming Nvr lowered down to Grey's level with her signature creepy grin. "Hiiiiiii..."
"Wait, those two are the ones Midas had scattered over the land. This is getting tedious..." The fox eared monster hunter laughed, clutching his head as he started to get a headache from the bat's constant beeping that only seemed to get faster and faster.
"Can we shut that thing up?" Avis complained. But Nvr looked closer at the bat, noticing that its pupil had shrunk, like it was laser focused on something. Something that seemed to be lurking just around the corner.
"Grey... What is hunting us?"
The mimic's mask colour became a dark green wolf's head. It didn't make much sense to Nvr, but Vinea's heart sunk at the realisation of what was after them. "H-How!? H-How could t-that THING be here? I thought you killed it!?"
Grey could only shake his head in disagreement as the same chilling laughter filled the halls once more. Mammy's beeping began to intensify as a loud howl was heard, that seemed to be rushing towards them.
"Who's back?" Pit asked, readying his katana as the four all prepared themselves for the approaching fight. A cruel, man sized, dark green claw suddenly reached into the room as a distorted cackle rung in their ears.
"The Fox... And Another Fox... Two Foxes... The Vine child is back as well.... And the Harpy... My, My, My... This is truly a reunion!" A broken, rough, vaguely feminine voice called out from beneath the shadows of where the claw emerged. An almost electrical energy seemed to fill the air.
The creature pulled itself into view, having dark green tattered fur and a broken and far more decayed body. With a rotted wolf head that was practically bones, held together by old, inky void like flesh. A singular horn was atop its head and chunks of a broken highly advance shock collar dug into its neck.
Though most concerning about the creature, was the living heart that was shoved into its broken chest. It beated with a ferocity and anger that seemed to have been built up over years of hatred. This wasn't a sub-mind heart like Nvr originally theorised...
It was an Underbelly Denizen's heart.
And the only heart that could it could possibly be is...
Zamtika Misa's.
"Are you prepared Foxes? Let's have another round... After all... You did this to me... One more round. One more round. ONE MORE ROUND! ONE MORE FUCKING ROUND, FOX!" It screamed, an electrical tension that began to almost feel tangible as the beast slowly stomped towards them.
The hound was even larger than the already gigantic Nvr by only a few feet. This was something that could kill. Something that would pursue. A beast with little regard for its own wellbeing as long as it killed its mark.
She was The Apex Of Decaynines.
