"Just... Slowly back away." Uma whispered to Vex as the two began creeping away from the feasting candy caned Wendigo, who was munching on a poor prisoner they managed to catch. "It's heartless now, right? We could take it." She whispered, giving him a smirk, though he outright dismissed the idea.
"That... thing nearly killed you last time." He said with gritted teeth as Tophina began sniffing around. "Wendy almost killed me, not this." Vex began raising her voice in frustration as she pointed to Tophina, but as Uma looked, the wendigo was already gone. "Where did..."
"They go?/Are you sure you want to ask that?" Tophina said in unison, giving a light laughter as they twirled their cane with a flamboyant flair. "The warden gave us a chance to save her hide/The warden gave me my candifying cane back."
"Oh crap..." Vex mumbled as she stared up to Tophina, who was doing a little showtune as they stood above them on a walkway, having the biggest, most twisted smile the two had ever seen. "Where is the rabbit?/Where is the oni?" They asked, popping a human shaped gumball in their oversized maw.
"You really think you'd get a rematch that easy?" Uma said with a sigh before tossing his gigantic mace towards the fused chefs, though they easily dodged with a slight step to the right. "Hmm... How disappointing/How boring."
Vex began firing off her gun-blade, each shot hitting them, but sinking into their toffee like body. "Come now, did you think it would be so easy?/Did you think it would be that quick?"
Tophina let out a bizarre fusion of laughter as they began running along the walkway, their cane dragging along the ground as it turned the metals into chocolate, melting over the duo. They quickly began running after the chefs, with Uma beginning to get a grin of his own. "They can't beat us. They're weaker then before! You were actually right, Antlers."
"Duh!" She laughed, running after Tophina, who was turning everything in their way into candy and throwing them back to them. It didn't really slow them down, but what did was a gingerbread wall collapsing in front of them. "Damn it." Uma grumbled, using his mace to try and break through the food. But Vex began sniffing the air and turned to see Detainment's drug storage area.
"Vex? Where are you?" Uma asked with a confused look as he turned around, trying to figure out where she had gone. But he was soon blindsided by a purple and red blur of energy shooting pass him. The wall now had a jackelope shaped clearing through it. It was like a scene out of a cartoon. Uma turned and looked through the pile of drugs that had been left to rot, and was stunned by how many seemed to have been taken in the 5 seconds he looked away.
"Zamtika is going to kill me if that girl has a heart attack."
But before he could chase after Vex and Tophina, he was dragged back by chains, letting out a yell for help only for silence to fill the ruined sight of the corridor.
Tophina had made it a good distance away from the two, looking over to see a scared young elven prisoner hiding behind one of the ruined pillars of her candifying spree. "One snack won't hurt?/I suppose not."
The fusion snickered, tapping the cane against the woman's chest as she tried to flee, turning her into a cupcake. And as they were about to take the first bite, a sharp kick knocked them to the ground, tumbling across the room. They looked stunned to see a twitching and drug fuelled Vex, who caught the cupcake and ate it in one bite before spitting it out.
"Gross, gross, gross, gross, GROSS. That tasted like hair. You'll pay for that, Wendigoon!" She laughed, her mannerisms were much more rapid and fast pace. As Tophina tried to use their cane to hit the ground, their hand flew across the room as Vex was now already in front of them, like she'd blinked through time. "What the!?/How in the!?"
To Vex, time was moving at a crawl, her heart ability was kicked into overdrive as time had once again seemingly stopped for her. She didn't even hesitate, slicing away at the chefs with giddy glee. The two let out muffled grunts of slight annoyance, since they couldn't even feel it, yet they knew their bodies were heavily damaged.
"Get away!/You insufferable little!" They tried to leap for her, only to be split in half by another swing of Vex's blade. The two halves fell to the floor as Vex let out a triumphant laugh, standing over their still living, yet incapacitated body. "Booyah! I is so cool! I can do anything, See that Mom! I don't need Ven! I don't need a dad! I don't need a mom! I only need myse-"
As Vex gave her mini victory speech, she was interrupted by the sounds of chains clanking through the halls at a deafening volume. She turned back to see Panila, adorned in a chained gown, ready to finish the rest of them off. "Warden... You came to save me!/You came to save me!" The two halves yelled in cheery surprise, but were swiftly dragged inside one of many keychain sized cells attached to a large key ring hanging off her waist.
"Come here... Child." Panila said with a warm, comforting smile as she put her hand out. But Vex, with a split second reaction, began running for her life. Activating her heart ability to its limits, time slowed down to the point it had stopped, and before she knew it, she could see everyone gathering together to move up to the next floor.
"I'm here! Help, Panila is after me-" But Vex's wrist was grabbed by chains, that moved almost as fast as her. She began to struggle, continuing to run, but as more and more chains began grabbing her and pulling her back, she knew she wasn't going to make it.
"I... Don't wanna die!" She yelled, tossing her gun-blade into the air and kicking it towards everyone to try and get their attention before her legs were bound. She was slowly dragged backwards into shadows before...
Silence.
Ven and Tika looked down to see Vex's gun-blade land at their feet, both looking between each other nervously. "Go on ahead, we'll catch up." Zamtika said with a wave, sending everyone off as they began searching the room it flew out of, only to find it empty.
"Where did Vex go?"
"She was with Uma, right?"
"Yeah..."
"Then... If her blade is here... Does that mean..." Ven mumbled, before being silenced by Tika. "Don't. I know she'll catch up." She said with a smirk, though Ven could see she was trying her best not to show her fear and sadness over her.
Ven grabbed the blade and gave a nod. "W... We'll give it to her when we see her again, right?"
"Right..."
