Chapter 64 - Always Ends in Death

"Is... Is he dead?" Avis asked as she poked Ven's face. "H... He's a-already dead." Senshi mumbled as she crawled through Ven's chest cavity, trying to wake him up. Ven and Nvr had been unconscious for the last two hours due after entering Cheshire's spire, and the rest of the group,, minus Iyu, had been trying to wake them up.

Iyu was musing herself with some of the news papers at the reception before hearing Nvr begin to awaken. "Ah. Nvr, did you... Unbind our Rodent?" She asked, though Nvr was still in a daze. Ven began to stir awake too, as he pulled Senshi out of his body. "What... Happened?"

"Oh thank Mollia you're not dead dead." Avis smiled, stroking his ears with Vinea. The two were still high out of their minds, but Ven held Senshi to his face with a curious look. "What happened to us?"

"Y-You passed out as s-soon as y-you got inside. N-Nvr passed out too, but I d-didn't. S-So it only affected non living beings."

"What is Nvr then?" He asked before feeling Iyu kick his back. "She's just like you. A zombie."

"I'm not just a zombie! I'm a good zombie." Nvr said with a confident seeming motion as she stood up, checking the wooden box to find the heart still inside. "A-And to answer your question... She's been unbound."

"Who has?" Vinea asked before a rumbling was felt, multiple beams of light shooting out of the floor. "Rat has." Iyu said with a giggle, heading for the door with Nvr. "Come on. Rat will join us in a minute. She has her heart back after all."

Senshi looked confused, scuttling over to the two. "W-What d-do you mean? R-Rat is heartless! Y-You can't g-g-get a heart back!"

"No, Rat's was just locked up." Nvr said with a cheery tone as everyone began to follow except Ven, who began running to the actual elevator. "I'm just gonna make sure Rat doesn't die. Catch up ina minute."

"Whatever." Iyu smiled and waved Ven off as he began jumping through his portals just to move that tiny bit faster.

Rat had stirred awake, seeing Cheshire standing before her with his scythe to her neck. "Youz can't expect to leavez alive." He smirked, bringing the scythe down onto her chest, only for it to be blocked by a sword of light appearing out of thin air.

Rat calmly summoned another sword with just a thought, freeing herself from her bindings with little effort, facing Cheshire in the dark laboratory, with only the light of Cheshire's heart and Rat's swords illuminating the room.

"Come on, did you really think it'd be that easy?" She smirked as she easily dodged Cheshire's scythe, kicking him away with very little effort. "It's been awhile since I actually got to fight. Hehe, I guess my muscle memory is still intact."

As Cheshire hit the wall, Rat casually put her hand out, shooting a beam of light. The beam burst through the wall, knocking Cheshire back further. He stood up with an angry look in his electronic sea blue eyes. "I'z not dying to you! Not againz!"

He activated his heart, trying to drag Rat into a dream, but she just stomped her foot down and summoned a piercing spike of light behind Cheshire, ripping his tail off like paper. "Don't even try it kitty cat."

Rat gave a slight wink before summoning two swords and began unleashing a barrage of attacks towards him. He tried to block as best he could, but he could feel the metal scraping off his body. Quickly, Cheshire saw an opening, and placed his hand on Rat's head.

"[Bad End Theatre!]"

Rat stood before a large movie theatre screen playing what was supposed to be her worst fear. Cheshire sat in the audience, watching what would play with anticipation. The screen began to light up as it played.

Rat was trapped in a cage watching as an anthropomorphic cartoon Rat with brown fur and long black hair stood alone at the top of a spire, staring at the stars with a sword drawn. The figure turned around to see the body of a woman with blonde bangs covering her eyes and long ram horns, lying on the ground dead.

"You never did like being the hero, did you?"

She said before a chain shot into her head, waking Rat up from her nightmare.

Cheshire looked stunned that his strongest move didn't even incapacitate her for even a minute. "Oh I'll make you regret that one." Rat smirked before shoving her sword through Cheshire's chest, ripping out his sub-mind heart on her sword as he screamed in agony.

He tried clawing at her face, but was kicked to the ground before falling limp. "Didn't you learn anything from Panny? Don't taunt someone stronger then you." She whispered before cutting off his head as Ven kicked down the door, his gun-blade slowly lowering as he saw Rat's face covered in blue cooling liquid.

"Uh... What happened?" He questioned as Rat began making his way to Cheshire's computer. "I just wanted to send a little message that the Rat queen has returned." She said with a dramatic swish of her hair as she began calling Panila.

"Cheshire? Do you have... That... You." Panila looked furious to see Rat awake, the sound of chains distorting the sound in the video call. "Well, Panny. You're never going to guess what I remembered? I'm not your servant." She said with a smug grin.

Panila tensed up slightly, now seeming a bit worried. "What... What do you remember?"

"Not everything apparently. But I'll figure out who I am. And you. You, my little Demon, can have an early birthday present." She said as she pulled Cheshire's decapitated head onto the camera, Ven looking slightly stunned at the balls to do that.

Panila though, Panila didn't move. Her expression looked of one of pure sadness, not even trying to hide it. "Y-You... Y-You killed..."

"Yeah. I killed your little Pet. And I'll be coming for the last two of my little hearts. So prepare, pan-pan." She smiled before hanging up. "Did... Was that really needed?" Ven asked as he turned to grab the sub-mind off the floor.

"It doesn't matter. This story is nearly at its climax. And we don't have long to plan." Rat smirked as she began heading for the door, motioning for Ven to follow. He glanced at Cheshire's body before following behind Rat. He couldn't help but mutter to himself;

"She's officially lost it."
