Two days passed. Two days without food and water. Kaim's stomach was of course growling like crazy. Whenever his stomach growled, he reminded himself that this was a hope for his survival and he tried to hold on as long as he could. At least he could rest quietly in the cell and that was very precious to him. Hours passed and he didn't even have the strength to move anymore. While he was waiting like this, a voice came from the next cell:
-- How did you end up here?
Kaim was too weak to even move his head, but he answered:
-- I wanted to.
Hearing this, the prisoner in the next cell let out a great laugh and immediately stopped himself so the guards wouldn't hear him:
-- Are you kidding me!? I'm not naive enough to fall for that.
-- You can believe what you want. It's the truth. I am going to undergo an operation soon, and for it to be successful I must be in a state of near starvation.
The prisoner paused for a moment. It was clear from his pause that he was surprised.
-- (In a calmer tone) So that's why they have been bringing you only water for days.
-- Yes.
As if greatly disappointed, the prisoner obediently turned away.
(The world is constantly changing. Human beings and me. I've taken on so many forms now that I've almost completely forgotten what my true human form looks like. I accept that I deserve a punishment for what I have done in my time, but this torment that this watch has inflicted on me for so many years is too much of a punishment for what I have done. I have done nothing bad enough to deserve this torment.)
While Kaim was in these thoughts, two footsteps came from the corridor. Of course, this was not important for Kaim. Then the footsteps gradually grew louder and stopped in front of the cell. When the sound stopped in the head of the cell, Kaim realized that they were coming for him and slowly turned his head towards the cell door:
-- How do you feel?
-- As it should be.
One of the guards approached Kaim and checked his condition closely. Kaim was completely exhausted and visibly much weaker than a few days ago. Even though he knew what the situation was, the guard's heart could not bear the scene:
-- You really shouldn't eat anything. Just a small piece of bread and you'll be fine. Don't be so hard on yourself. No one deserves this.
Kaim is not surprised to hear the guard's words and turns his face to the guard forcefully:
-- I didn't do anything bad enough to deserve this torture, but I am suffering this torture, and I must be in such a bad condition that I almost die to get out of it.

Meanwhile, in the hospital, the doctor who was to operate on Kaim was sitting nervously in his office. He was quickly flipping through the papers on the desk, clearly looking for something. Just then there was a knock at the door:
-- Dr. Gilf, I have the documents you requested.
-- Come in.
Hearing this, the nurse calmly opened the door and walked in, placing a stack of papers on Dr. Gilf's desk:
-- Dr. Gilf, are you all right? You look very tense.
Dr. Gilf looked at the pile of papers the nurse had brought and sighed bitterly. Then he turned sadly to the nurse and began to speak:
-- In a few days I will be undergoing a very risky operation, one that will be very different from any operation I have ever had.
Dr. Gilf paused as he said this and the nurse took the opportunity to speak.
-- Are you talking about the operation planned for a patient named Kaim?
-- Yes. There will be a couple of doctors and nurses on the sidelines who will give me the stuff, but because of the high risks involved, I'll have to do almost the entire operation by myself.
-- But what makes this surgery so different? The patient, Kaim, is in the same condition as a standard human being, in fact, he has a very healthy body.
-- Yes. Kaim is not responsible for that healthy body. It's the thing that doesn't want Kaim to die.
When the nurse heard this, she looked at Dr. Gilf's face with a puzzled look.
-- In every surgery in the world, the risk is to the patient. Patients have a chance of dying. That's the risk in surgery. But I am the only one at risk of dying in this operation.
Hearing these words, the nurse tried to put the pieces together in her brain, but she couldn't understand them.
-- one mistake and I'll die in surgery.

A few hours passed. Kaim had taken up the hobby of studying the details of the place, which changed every time he blinked:
-- I guess I'm really getting used to it.
Kaim had become so weak that he could no longer even move his head. He could only blink his eyes. After a while, there were footsteps in the corridor again. And then the footsteps stopped when they reached the front of Kaim's cell. The door opened and four separate footsteps entered. Kaim could not look because he could not turn his head. Two of the guards carefully took Kaim and placed him on a stretcher held by two other guards. Now it was time. They took Kaim out carefully and quickly, walking down the corridor while the prisoners in the other cells watched what was happening. The scene was quite intimidating. And this was going to cause serious rumors to spread between the cells. Kaim was carefully placed in an ambulance. Officer Posir and Officer Tartz were standing next to him. The ambulance drove for a while and then they arrived at the hospital. Even though this major surgery was a secret, it was the talk of the hospital among the doctors. Seeing Kaim coming out of the ambulance, the doctors rushed to his aid. They took Kaim to the operating room that had been reserved for him and Dr. Gilf followed behind them. As Dr. Gilf entered the operating room, he looked at Kaim's disgustingly bad appearance and sighed:
-- Here We Go.
