(Levar Point of View)
As she plays with my hair, I see Lev jump on the bed to join us. I pat my lap slightly and Lev sits down on my lap. I straighten up a bit as I pet Lev. He is such a good kitten. He is so soft and adorable. I am so glad I have him. He is just the best cat. He loves playing with his toys. He has hurt me a few times with his claws but nothing bad and I know he doesn't mean it. He is a hunter. I wonder if I could train him. It's like how they do in movies where they train dogs to smell something and then track down the person. I know Lev is a cat but could it work? Maybe. How hard is it to train a cat? People make it look easy with dogs. I don't know why people don't train cats. I mean they litter train them but that wasn't hard. Lev is already litter-trained and seems to have a good sense of time. He always comes to ask me for food when it's time. I wonder if it's dinner time. I should see. After all, I was in surgery. I wonder if Asaka fed him. I hope so. I feel Asaka pull me close. I hold Lev closer so he doesn't try to run away.
"You really do love Lev, don't you?"
"I do. He is such a good kitten. Even though I have heard that cats are mean, I don't understand if they were lying or if Lev is just calm. He does like jumping on anything that moves."
"Like his toys?"
"Yes. He does really like his toys and seems to have fun." He looks so adorable when he plays.
"That's good." Yes, it is. He has fun and I have fun. I also feel like it's a good way for us to feel more connected. "Darling?"
I look up at her. What does she need? "Yes?"
"How would you feel if Lev isn't a normal house cat?" That might be why he was so easy to train but he looks normal, I think.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean how would you feel if Lev is a lion?" What? A lion? I know he looks like one but they don't like anywhere around here. How could he be a lion? He has to be a cat. Plus, he is so small. Lions are huge. He has to be a cat, right? "I understand if you don't believe me but I believe I know where he comes from."
Maybe this is a hypothetical thing and he isn't actually a lion. "Is he? Is he a lion?"
"He is. A coworker of mine has a lion and he can't keep the cubs so he let them go not thinking anything about it when he found here and has now stayed with us."
A coworker? How did he get one? Wait, if he is a lion, will I still be able to keep him? "Can we still keep him?"
"Yes, we can. I won't have you get rid of him. You can keep him. I don't mind, but you will have to be prepared for him to become quite big and he is a lion so you have to be prepared."
"I will be. I want to take care of him the best I can. Plus, then that means I can keep him. I want to keep him."
I see her smile at me. "Just tell me if you need anything."
I nod my head. She is the best. I love her so much. She is the best. I haven't called her ma'am in a while and I know she likes it and so do I. "I will. Thank you so much. I love you, ma'am."
"Can I kiss you?"
"Yes, you can." She kisses me right as the words come out of me. Her kiss is nice. I should let her more often. She taste kind of sweet and bitter at the same time.
I feel her pin me down as Lev gets off of the bed. I think he got scared off. I hope he is alright. Wait, I am pinned now. What is she going to do? She smiles at me.
"This is something." I hope she can't tell how nervous I am.
"Sorry about that." She gets off of me. Good. I didn't hate it but I don't want to do anything, plus, I still hurt.
"You're fine. I wasn't expecting that."
"I got a bit excited." I can tell.
"Can we cuddle?"
"Of course we can."
Asaka lays down and I lay down next to her. She pulls me close to her. Lev soon joins us. I hold him close. I feel Asaka hold me a bit closer to herself. This is nice.
