Hearing this had sent a wave of relief washing over Adeline, and a smile could not help but emerge on her face.
Caesar had to walk over and sit down on the couch, then patiently wait for the two women to be done.
By the time they were done, he had made the payment in advance and left the company with her.
"Do you want to go somewhere with me?" he asked once they were inside the car.
Adeline, who'd fastened her seat belt, glanced at him. "Somewhere like?"
"A club," Caesar responded, his brow shut up. He'd seen Adeline's pupils light up, knowing her answer would be yes, but before she could give him a nod, he shot her a withering glare.
"No having the damn fucking bartender feed you shots, or someone's going to be in his grave," he warned.
Adeline's jaw dropped for a few seconds before she glared at him. "That was like months ago, Caesar. And I said sorry. Why are you still thinking about it?"
