"No, Caesar, that's not it." Adeline extended her arms and pulled him into a tight hug. She buried her face in his neck. "I wouldn't want to be with anyone else except you."
Caesar was all the more lost now. "Then…why? I can't seem to understand why you are crying. Did I say something you didn't like? If that's it, then-"
"No, I'm just happy!!" Adeline burst into laughter and threw her head back. "You don't get it, Caesar. I just didn't think you would ever want to-"
"Marry you?" he interrupted, a frown settling on his forehead. "Did you actually think I would keep you without doing so?"
Adeline paused, biting her lower lip. 'Well...yes. And I messed up too, so I didn't dare think you would ever want to. That's why I felt pretty…" She was fidgeting with her index fingers. "…Overwhelmed."
"You silly princess." Caesar found himself cackling in amusement.
