Caesar had made a mention of returning to Russia in the following week, so she did need those items before they left.
A groan fled her mouth, her legs dangling to the floor. Her gaze was fixed on the ceiling, and she suddenly thought about everything that had happened.
Though she regretted it and wished she hadn't messed up in the first place, it was fine. Things had become better.
Caesar wasn't awful to her. He was normal like he'd always been. But she had noticed he'd never said the word 'I love you' to her after everything. Even when she did say it to him, he never reciprocated it but rather shrugged it off.
She was aware of why, but somehow, it still struck a painful knife into her heart each time. Just once, she wanted to hear him say it back, but she was sure it wouldn't be possible, at least not for now.
