Adeline shuddered in his hold, breathing softly.
"Caesar...t-that feels-"
"I know," Caesar mumbled against her neck, his breath hot. "Don't worry, I won't fuck you this morning, or I'm going to cripple you. I may be in heat, but I wouldn't be so careless with you, okay? I just need your scent."
Adeline blinked at his words, perplexed. "In…heat? What is that?"
"I'm in a rut, Adeline. You caused it, by the way." A cackle rumbled in Caesar's throat, his thick, long fingers brushing through her hair.
Adeline was still a bit perplexed. What did he mean by it being her fault? Had she caused his rut to kick in? Is that what he meant?
"Come." Caesar lifted her into his arms and began to walk to the bathroom. "Let me wash you up."
Adeline's heart skipped a beat, her arms securing his neck.
It wasn't like he hadn't done it before, but still, she was fast asleep when he did so.
