Mr. Sergey had promised Arkadi that nothing would happen to him after he did the job, but now he wasn't doing anything to help. He watched Nikolai and Yuri take him and uttered no word.
How stupid he'd been to think Mr. Sergey valued him enough to save him from his son. Mr. Sergey was a selfish man, and he'd been too dumb to overlook such a thing. Now here he was kneeling before Caesar, who would most likely kill him.
Quivering, he lifted his head to look at Caesar, who was gazing at him with a smirk and tilted head.
"You must have thought you could run, didn't you?" Caesar asked, his voice polished with deadliness. "Or, let me guess. My father must have promised to protect you from me. How stupid you are to trust the likes of my father."
"Put your right hand on the table." His sudden order left Arkadi startled.
He lowered his gaze to the mini table in between him and Caesar and lifted his eyes to meet Caesar's gaze.
