One of the most common phrase I've heard is that you should never change who you are for someone. If they love you , they'll accept you as you are . And while I think it's a great saying and all I might have a different opinion. Of course, you shouldn't pretend to be someone you're not for people to notice. Of course you must never suppress your true self to please someone else. But changing yourself a little might not be bad . People don't have to accept me just a I am . What if the person I am right now is someone who doesn't deserve that love and acceptance? I won't expect anyone to accept me as I'm when even I can't do that. For example, I could be a rude person but change my manners to win someone over . Isn't that a better scenario for me ? A common change people discuss is weight and body type . Suppose that I was overweight and didn't like it but couldn't find the motivation to change that fact . If I try to loss my weight for one person , that's not a bad thing.
In my opinion, changing is not always a bad thing. And if we all stick to the idea that people should just accept us as we are instead of trying to fix our problems that can be fixed, the world will be full of people who are unhappy and unfulfilled.
Even if it's something we can't change and the person won't still accept us , that doesn't mean that they are bad . It just meant that they're not meant for us . And we'll find those meant for us . But still there are people who treated other people like dirt saying it's the just the way they are . Do you think those people also deserve to be accepted and loved just as they are ?
