This SIDE STORY takes place from chapter 34 onwards.

'' ...''
The conversation I had the other day plagued my mind. A chance to undo what I did was too good to be true.
But, based on the data Samael showed me ... it was true. I had on my hands, a second chance. A thing many look for but almost no one finds it.
But I did gain that opportunity. And now, I have a choice. Do I tell about the cure to my people, or follow my heart...
I don't know...
I have time to think, as the team Samael said would come to get me will arrive in a few days. Until then, I'll have my answer.
DAYS LATER
'' Are you Dr Mordin Solus?'' A sky car dropped right in front of the pickup point LD and Mordin combined beforehand.
'' Yes.'' Moridn confirmed it was indeed LD, as the personnel were dressed with their logo and their specific armor. No one in the galaxy wanted to impersonate LD, as things generally don't end well for them.
'' Well, we come here to give you a ride to one of our bases, on Earth. Are you ready to come with us?''
Mordin looked back at his house and took a breath. He knew that, while his presence there would only speed up the process of the cure being made, it was still helping. This means he would be actively helping the Krogans, making him an enemy of his entire species, as not a lot of Salarians like the Krogans.
But, he had already decided.
'' Let's go.''
Mordin then entered the SkyCar, which then went to a nearby hangar. The salarian and the LD personnel, after arriving at the said hangar, got out and boarded a spaceship.
Their target is already set, Earth.
DAYS LATER
Mordin was once more surprised by everything around him. He was on Earth, on San Franciso, to be exact. And the facility he now called home, was amazing.
Way better than anything he had ever seen, and that in itself was impressive, as Mordin was part of a team of the elite of his species. He visited a lot of facilities in his earlier years, but nothing was like that.
He made friends with everyone real quick, as everyone there had the same goal: to make the cure as fast as possible.
For some reason, after asking around, Moridn came to find out the researchers received the research of the cure at 50%, meaning Samael, the person who talked with him, made the 50% first.
That was incredible, as even with a lot of intelligent people, they only managed to have a 20% progress in years.
But, that only made Mordin fighting spirits hotter, as ever since he arrived in the facility a few days ago, 5% of the research was bettered.
But, just as he was feeling good about himself, and saw the cure being made in 5 years, the salarian, alongside everyone in the base received a message on their Omni-tool.
It was from Samael, saying, ' Quarian Pill.'
After everyone read the content, they only had one thought in mind.
' Genius...'
The content of the data they received was a pill that would allow the Quarian to live outside their suit once more. And once more, it was already 50% complete, meaning Samael made 50% of the whole research alone.
Mordin just smiled at that and said to his fellow scientists in the base, '' It seems we have a lot more work to do, yes. But, it will be fun!''
There were some nods here and there, and everyone in the base got back to their job, as now they had 2 high-quality projects and little time.
Samael said it was fine if it took 4 to 5 years to complete the research but the pride of the people who worked here was too big to let that happen. They vowed to themselves, that in 1 year both projects would be complete.
If they would manage that, only time will tell.
But one thing is for certain, Mordin didn't regret his decision. Not only he was undoing his mistake, but he was having fun in the process.
He also wanted to meet Samael personally, as he had nothing but respect for the human.
' Now, let's back to work.'
The salarian returned to his routine while singing.
''I am the very model of a scientist Salarian!
I've studied species, Turian, Asari, and Batarian.
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology),
because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian -
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian!''
