As I stepped into the slave chambers, silence enveloped the room. All eyes turned towards me, staring like I was from another planet.
"What's up?" I asked, making my way to the bed where they all sat. Sometimes I hated having my room right where everyone passed.
"Nothing," Emily said, rising and coming toward me with a stern look. "But come on, let's spill the beans," Cecilia chimed in, but the other girls shook their heads.
"Have you heard the gossip?" Riley suddenly asked, and I shook my head in response.
"How could she?" Emily interjected with a scoff. "She's always busy cozying up to the guards," she said, laughing lightly. My face drained as I stared at her, confused knitting my brows.
"What do you mean?"
"First Carlos, now James? You must have a thing for brothers, huh? Going after the master and his brother too. Don't you ever get tired?" My shoulders tensed, disgust creeping over me as I grasped her insinuation.
