I take a deep breath as I pick up the radio, my fingers trembling slightly as I adjust the frequency to the one Seok-Jin and I have been using for our communications. I press the button, hearing the familiar crackle of static before I speak.
"Seok-Jin," I say, my voice low and urgent. "It's me. We need to talk."
There's a long pause, and for a moment, I fear that he hasn't received my message. But then, his voice comes through the speaker, tinged with a weariness I haven't heard before.
"I figured you'd be in touch," he says, his tone guarded. "I assume this is about the government's latest move? And about Chairman Hwang?"
I nod, forgetting for a moment that he can't see me. "You're right," I reply, my grip tightening on the radio. "I've been thinking, and I believe it's time for us to have that meeting with the Chairman. But I have some conditions."
