I took the spear and kneeled down to her level.
"Thank you for bringing me my spear, little one," I removed my helmet and smiled.
"You don't need to thank me! You're a hero, you saved Mommy!" She climbed onto my armor and hugged me.
The cutest little human, dressed in rags with an exhausted appearance clung to me like I was a savior.
"I..uhh" I didn't really know how to react to being called a hero. I only came to their village in order to complete a labor for my own benefit.
While I did save their lives, my intention wasn't quite a heroic one.
"Gather the dead, we must give them a proper burial," I directed the survivors quickly and got to work. The little soul still clung to me, so I held her in one arm as I directed the village's recovery.
"[Divine Spark]!" I unleashed the golden flame in my palm as I prepared to burn all of the demon corpses.
