As I walked back to the house, the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the mansion grounds. I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of peace as I looked at the mansion I hadn't seen in a while.

"I wonder where Elle i-" A sharp chattering sound cut me off, and I looked down to see my necklace vibrating wildly. A dread settled over me, and without another thought, I dashed towards the mansion, my heart pounding in my chest.

"NO NO NO! PLEASE NO!" I begged every being I could think of, hoping with every fiber of my being that was wrong.

Bursting through the doors, I followed the sound of screams to one of the inner rooms. The sight that met me stopped me in my tracks, and a cold chill ran down my spine.

Elle was lying motionless on the floor, her skin pale and lifeless. The pure bright energy that once surrounded her was gone, replaced by an eerie stillness.
