Tears streamed down Avery's face as she walked towards the car where Don was waiting and watching.
She felt utterly heartbroken, not only because she had been rejected and disowned by her family but also because she had lost the phone she had travelled to Grand City to retrieve.
The personal and vital information on that phone was the sole reason for her return to Grand City.
In hindsight, she wished she hadn't come back at all.
If not for the phone, her family wouldn't have the chance to disown her. She believed their harsh reaction was fueled by the recent ordeal they faced with the Forte family.
If she had delayed her return, perhaps they wouldn't have treated her in such a cruel manner.
Sobbing, Avery made her way to the car. She placed her belongings in the trunk and then settled in beside Don in the passenger seat.
