Walking up to Edith, Alston cursed under his breath when he saw the document in her hands, "Damn it, how did I forget to keep this document safe." He had been too busy lately, and the acquisition had been handled by his assistant. He had only recently drafted the contract.
Alston, without hesitation, reached for the document in Edith's hands. The details were not finalized yet, and he didn't want to disclose everything to Edith. However, despite Edith's efforts, he still wanted to help her secure it.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier? I had no idea until now," Edith asked, surprised, lifting her gaze to him. Alston felt uneasy under her gaze and shifted his attention elsewhere. Not one to be eloquent, especially when things were still up in the air, he found it meaningless to speak prematurely.
