"I'll report you both to the school. Since you insist on causing trouble, I'll give you a punishment - write a self-reflection first!"
Louis was defiant, "On what grounds?"
Edith's face was pale.
Since Alston had spoken, he would definitely be able to follow through on this.
Louis was still indignant, but Alston completely ignored him, turning to leave directly.
Edith then took the opportunity while Louis was distracted to sneak away as well.
On the way back, Edith kept recalling the events of the day.
She felt something was amiss.
Today when she saw Alston, Edith was very surprised.
He's usually such an inscrutable person, even with major issues he'd maintain his composure.
So why did he reveal such an anxious expression upon learning she was in trouble?
If it were someone else asking Edith, she could say with certainty the man must like the woman.
But applying this to herself, Edith hesitated.
Could it be Alston's feelings towards her were not so simple?
Edith had this speculation.
But she quickly denied it herself.
What man would treat a woman he likes with such coldness?
Edith finally breathed a sigh of relief, yet her heart had a slight sense of loss.
She shook her head and put the matter out of her mind.
However, as soon as she exited the school gate, she saw Tony again.
This time Tony was holding a bouquet of flowers, leaning against his sports car.
Seeing Edith, Tony's expression obviously became excited.
"Edith, I'm here!"
Edith had just dealt with such a troublesome matter, and was already flustered. Seeing Tony made her even more exasperated.
She felt she needed to clarify this issue with Tony.
So Edith took a deep breath and went to Tony's side.
Tony smiled and handed her the flowers, "Fresh flowers for the beauty - these are perfect for you!"
Edith didn't hasten to refuse either, "Thank you!"
Seeing Edith seemingly receptive, Tony tentatively asked, "Come have a meal with me?"
Edith nodded, and Tony was exceptionally excited.
So Tony opened the passenger door for Edith, and she smoothly got in.
However, no one noticed Alston secretly observing them from a corner.
Seeing Edith so naturally get into Tony's passenger seat, Alston's expression turned very ugly.
His self-control seemed diminished from before.
Whenever he saw Edith have contact with other men, he felt extremely uncomfortable inside.
Seeing Edith enter Tony's passenger seat again this time made Alston clench his fists involuntarily.
He didn't know what he was thinking, gradually unable to understand his own heart.
On the other side, Tony happily took Edith to a nearby high-end restaurant.
The waiter brought the menu, and Tony eagerly handed it to Edith.
But Edith shook her head to refuse.
"I didn't come with you to eat this time. I want to have a serious discussion with you about something!"
Tony suddenly had an ominous premonition.
"Whatever it is, let's talk after we eat."
But Edith didn't respond, until suddenly speaking up after awhile, "Tony, we two are not suitable for each other! Continuing to pursue me is just a waste of time!"
Tony couldn't help but smile bitterly, "But I still want to pursue you!"
Edith shook her head again, "If I said it's not suitable, it's not suitable. If we spend more time together, you'll understand me!"
Edith had explained to this extent - logically for a pampered young master like Tony this should be enough, he shouldn't continue pestering her.
But Tony was like one possessed, unwilling to clearly draw a line with Edith.
"No way! I said I'll definitely get you, and I definitely will! You just wait and see!"
Since Edith had said all she needed to, she no longer argued, turning to leave directly.
Watching Edith's departing figure, Tony looked pensive.
He felt somehow the woman before him seemed different from the ones he had met before.
The contrived expressions of those previous women left Tony disinterested.
Yet after spending so many days with Edith, Tony felt she truly was very interesting.
Unconsciously, he had developed different thoughts about Edith.
Thinking this, Tony was inwardly startled.
He never imagined he, the playboy, would fall for Edith.
After returning, Edith put all of today's events out of her mind.
She returned to her usual routine, just the same three points one line.
Finally Edith endured until the day of the divorce.
She was prepared to hurry and make a run for it.
She couldn't even pretend anymore for a whole day.
Just as Edith was hesitating over how to divorce Alston, a message from him arrived.
"The divorce day is coming soon. I've had my secretary handle the procedures. You just need to sign and it's done!"
Seeing this message, Edith was overjoyed.
Her final qualms were now completely dispelled.
Knowing Alston wouldn't show up this time for the divorce, Edith felt very relieved.
So on the day of the divorce, Edith left confidently for the registration office.
However, Alston was feeling hesitant on his side.
His assistant respectfully placed the divorce contract before Alston, "The contract has been handled. Your wife just needs to sign it."
Alston nodded, then looked down at the contract in the assistant's hand.
"Do I need to go today?"
The assistant shook his head, "We've taken care of everything, you don't need to be present!"
But Alston hesitated.
For some reason, he had developed a sense of guilt towards his wife in name only.
They had been married for some time now, but had never met face to face.
Thinking about it, this was quite unfair to that woman.
So Alston sighed, "Alright, I'll go myself!"
If possible, he wanted to meet this woman once.
The assistant was visibly surprised, but did not refuse, immediately arranging Alston's schedule.
