Gon yawned softly, shifting in the small tent he'd learned to call home. It was early morning, a little bit of light was just beginning to filter in through the tent. He sat up, rubbing his eyes as they got used to the low light. Gon shifted his body towards the mirror and small bag he had next to him, grabbing the hairbrush and beginning to brush his hair down. He was pretty sure today was his off day from Biskey's training so that meant he could go out and get more supplies for the two of them.
He glanced at his fishing rod that was laid out on its side in the corner, sighing softly as he turned back away from it. That thing held so many memories...
So many memories of Kurapika. Of Leorio. Of... Killua... His best friend... The best friend that he abandoned... The best friend that he failed...
He groaned, shaking his head bitterly, now wasn't the time to get all emotional. He had chosen his path and he was going to stick to it. Now, where did he put his hair jell... Ah, there it is.
"Hey, Gon, get out here." He heard Biskey call from the campfire set up between their tents. He glanced over, trying to make out her figure with the little light there was but failed. Gon set down the container, slipping on a jacket as he crawled out of the tent.
"Yeah, Biskey. What is it?" He questioned, settling himself at the opening to his tent. While he had changed a bit over the years, Biskey still looked the exact same, he always found that fact intriguing. His hair was more green than black now, and he finally changed his old green jacket and shorts out for a different green jacket and shorts. This time it was a slightly darker green with minty blue accents. There was a hood on this one and the pockets were a bit bigger. His shorts weren't as short on him as before but they were definitely short.
"Come look at this," Biskey motioned with her hand for Gon as she continued staring down at the paper in her hands. Her brows were furrowed slightly with concern, it almost looked like she was trying to burn holes into the paper with just her eyes.
Gon tilted his head slightly, getting up and walking over to Biskey. He stood right next to her, scanning over the kanji briefly. Before he could get done with it, Biskey just handed him the whole paper. He fully read it this time, the letter was... not very detailed.
"So, what do you think?" Biskey asked, crossing her arms and looking at Gon expectantly.
"What do you mean?"
"Do you wanna go?" She supplied as if it were obvious. "You've been doing good in your training, if we go on this mission we could test out your nen better."
Gon's eyes lit up, he was just as energetic as when he was a kid. "Yeah! let's do it!"
