Chapter 110 - chapter 110 : fate?

Long Su spent the following days immersed in the exhilarating hunt

leading his army of skeletons soldiers against the relentless beasts that roamed the forest.

Each victory brought not only a sense of accomplishment but also the opportunity to harvest valuable resources from the fallen creatures.

Even though he didn't find another magic core but the photo of every dead monster is kind of resources for him

As he witnessed the wasteful practices of other hunting groups, who would often discard the corpses after claiming their prizes

Long Su recognized the value in utilizing every part of the defeated monsters.

Even the remnants served as nourishment for other inhabitants of the forest, maintaining a delicate balance within the ecosystem.

The battles that unfolded during these days proved far more satisfying than those within the confines of the barbarian dungeon.

Here, Long Su could unleash the full extent of his magical prowess, vanquishing his foes with a sense of unbridled freedom.

Amidst the relentless battles, a series of fortuitous events unfolded.

Long Su's most trusted and skilled General Zhang Han and the eight black ice skeletons, successfully advanced to level 3, their power and prowess growing in lockstep with their experience.

This 5 commanding skeletons can lead 500 skeleton soldiers in the future this number will increase

With an impressive force of eleven beginner -level soldiers at his disposal, Long Su could now proudly consider himself a truly independent hunter, capable of facing even the most daunting of challenges.

Even the Silver Wings Hunting Group only have 3 people at this level

Recognizing the key to his units' rapid advancement, Long Su decided to maintain the momentum by placing his level 3 soldiers in command of semi-general skeletons, each group tirelessly engaging in battle day and night.

These semi-generals, bearing unique skin colors such as black (fighters), blue (assassin) , yellow( archers), were generated alongside the Qin generals, each possessing their own distinct abilities.

The black-skinned skeletons can't use sowrd or other weapons but only their hands which is stronger and sharper than iron swords

The blue skeletons are the assassin type move faster and run behind the enemy troops to assassination the enemy genrals

The yellow skeletons are the archery type they use their own Rib bones to attack the enemy

and just another day 5 semi-general skeletons advanced to level 3

Now with full 15 beginner-level soldier under his hands all his efforts for the last couple days have paid off

Long Su, having spent a tiresome day dispatching lesser beasts, led his devoted skeleton army toward the ominous Black Skin Wolves' Valley.

However, his stoic visage wavered as a familiar scent reached his nostrils—the distinct, metallic tang of fresh blood permeating the air.

Upon reaching the valley's entrance, Long Su's suspicions were confirmed by the sight of bloodstains and signs of struggle marring the ground.

A recent battle had undoubtedly taken place in their absence.

Turning to his trusted commander, Long Su issued a decisive order. " General Zhang, lead our forces and eliminate any remaining threats within the valley. Ensure the low semi-general skeletons deliver the final blow."

Zhang Han, ever-loyal, responded with a single, resolute affirmation, "Promise." Drawing his sword, he marched forth, the undead army falling into formation behind him.

Standing in a safe distance, Long Su maintained a watchful eye over his forces, unwilling to risk his life unnecessarily.

Lords need to be fully careful all the time

As they ventured further into the valley, the sound of growling wolves reverberated through the air, signaling the presence of the pack that had once laid claim to this territory.

Focusing his mental acuity, Long Su discerned the wolves' weakened state—their scarred forms bore testament to a recent skirmish with hunters, their survival a testament to either fortune or skill.

With a curt command from Zhang Han, the legions of skeletons, armed with their enchanted weapons, fell upon the remaining wolves.

The resulting clash was brief and merciless, a display of the undeniable might of Long Su's elite soldiers.

While the wolves proved formidable adversaries, they were ultimately no match for the relentless ferocity of the ice skeletons, whose mastery over shadows granted them an unassailable advantage.

Finally, with a mournful cry from the wolves, silence covers the place.

As the dust settled, the wolves lay vanquished, and Long Su's army emerged triumphant once more.

 ----------

Next day

the first rays of morning light pierced the darkness, Long Su roused his undead forces and prepared to embark on yet another day of hunting within the Wolves' Valley.

However, as they readied themselves, a group of unexpected visitors arrived at the scene, surveying the remnants of the previous day's skirmish with growing concern.

One member of the group knelt beside the carcass of a black-skinned wolf, his brow furrowed in consternation.

"The entire pack has been wiped out," he declared, a sense of urgency tinging his words.

Another figure, garbed in the unmistakable attire of a hunting group, stepped forward to investigate further.

His eyes widened in disbelief as he realized the implications of their discovery. "Who dares steal our prey?!" he bellowed, the tremor in his voice betraying his anger.

A woman within the group, her face etched with concern, turned to address their leader.

"Captain Cai Yan, the bloodline of these black skin wolves is essential for our tamed beasts. What should we do now?"

Cai Yan, his jaw clenched in frustration, spared a moment to deliberate before directing his gaze towards a man who stood beside a large, imposing creature.

"Huang Kun, can your war pet, Xiaohei, track down the culprits responsible for this atrocity?"

Huang Kun, a druid who communed with the beasts of the forest, conferred briefly with his companions before responding with a hint of disappointment.

"Xiaohei can only discern a rough direction, Captain. We'll need to get much closer before he can pinpoint their exact location."

As the gravity of the situation settled over the group, a burly, armored figure of Tian Rong vented his frustration on a nearby tree trunk.

His powerful fist colliding with the sturdy wood in an explosion of splinters. "Damn the thieves who did this! They'll pay dearly for their transgression!"

Unbeknownst to Long Su and his skeletal army, their actions had inadvertently embroiled them in a dangerous conflict with the Silver Wings Hunting Group

whose thirst for vengeance now threatened to upset his calm solo adventure in the forest.

———————-

As Long Su attended to his preparations to go out again , one of his ice skeleton scouts materialized from the shadows, urgency etched in every movement.

"Your Highness," the skeletal figure hissed, "a group of humans accompanied by various beasts is approaching our position."

Long Su's eyes narrowed, fully aware of the dangers that human adversaries could pose in the lawless forest.

In a place where darkness and chaos reign unchecked, even the bonds of kinship could unravel in the face of temptation or desperation.

With the knowledge that their options for evasion were rapidly dwindling

Long Su decisively recalled his semi-general skeletons and ordered the ice skeletons to melt into the concealing embrace of the shadows leaving only couple skeleton soldiers standing behind him

In a strategic display of strength, he opted to retain the presence of a handful of skeleton soldiers

Although confident in his ability to handle conflict, Long Su recognized that demonstrating restraint might prove to be the more prudent course of action in this instance.

By displaying a balance of power and caution, he hoped to stave off any potential hostilities and navigate the treacherous waters of the human psyche unscathed.

Long Su isn't afraid of troubles, but if he can avoid them, then he will happily do that.

After doing everything, he waited patiently for the visitors to come.

The uneasy calm that had settled over Long Su and his remaining forces was abruptly shattered as a jubilant voice pierced the air. "I found him! He's right in front of us!"

A second voice, equally exuberant, bellowed in response, "Hahaha! Let's make haste! We cannot allow the thief to escape our grasp!"

Long Su's suspicions were immediately confirmed, the unmistakable voices shattering any hope of a peaceful resolution.

Because he knows for sure to whom this voice belongs.

As expected, the Silver Wings Hunting Group emerged from the dense foliage; their leader, Cai Yan, was the first one to appear, and she found herself face-to-face with Long Su, a figure she had not anticipated encountering in this remote corner of the forest.

"What a pleasant surprise, Long Su," she called out, a hint of amusement coloring her words. "After several days apart, hoping that you were safe this couple days."

Long Su regarded the hunting group before him, taking stock of their balanced composition—a cohesive unit of melee fighters, long-range specialists, and druidic spellcasters.

Though he had severed ties with the Silver Wings, he couldn't help but recall the indelible impression left by their formidable skills and memorable personalities.

Despite the tensions simmering beneath the surface, Long Su acknowledged their shared history and chose to address Cai Yan with a calm, measured tone.

"I appreciate the sentiment, Cai Yan, but now that you've found me, I trust you'll be on your way? As you can see, I have my own responsibilities to attend to."

Cai Yan maintained her smile, undeterred by Long Su's apparent disinterest in rekindling their alliance.

The web of fate, it seemed, had other plans in store for them all.
