Hina and I sat on the soft sand of the beach staring at the horizon together, while I strummed on a guitar and Hina sang. I wasn't playing any particular song, but rather just stringing a few chords together as they came to my head. Hina had a surprisingly good feel for melody and effortlessly improvised her humming to flow with the chords and we just sat and enjoyed the musical togetherness under the moonlight.
After a couple of improvised songs like that, it came to a natural conclusion and I put my guitar down on my side as Hina leaned her head on my shoulder. The sound of waves and moon glitters on the sea filled the space between us that was held by music, and that was comforting in its own way too.
"Miss, you sing surprisingly well"
"Surprisingly?"
"I meant as in I'm serious, not just trying to be nice"
"Heh, thanks"
"Have you ever played in a band?"
"No"
"Did you ever want to?"
