Salos sighed as he thought about something that made him think about the past. "Anyways, my power causes one to like another on all levels and areas. This on its own is what sets me apart from the rest. Because most people can't even name all the levels of liking someone, my power doesn't cause confusion. Just love at first sight, that can't be explained."
Haseo nodded. "I understand not being able to explain love at first sight. So the knives are for preparing the food for the people we attract, right? I am going to stick with woman, you can have all the dudes for yourself and we can split the rest."
Salos smiled as he moved around outside. The place they were at really was a summer camp site, even had its own lake that looked way too familiar. Haseo heard his stomach as he looked at the lake.
"While the cabins look like any old cabins, the lake here is an issue. I know this lake and I don't want to be here. I feel when night comes we will die, including cause you want to pick people up."
Salos smiled as they approached the main building. "The lake is the only thing that doesn't change here, the buildings come and go and we lucked out with getting ones with a/c. Also you know what these knives are for, it is for when the night comes and we get to have fun at the camp."
Salos then started stabbing the air and laughing. "I am kidding! While I am a demon and killing people can make me stronger, my power is equal to your power in my name or whatever you connect it with. Right now, both of us are super weak."
He looked at Haseo but his eyes were dim. "I don't know what path you plan to take this little clone of power of mine, but anything you add and modify will take you on a different path."
Salos dropped the knife and walked inside the main building. "Don't worry and drop the knife, it was just there to make you feel weird. We are here for humanoid monster orientation and yes it is a real thing."
Discarding the knife, Haseo followed Salos in and they found a bunch of empty seats sitting in a projector room. They found a seat and the projector came on and started playing a video."
It turned on and the person on screen has the same mouth shape as Salos, he wondered if this was an overall Kaijin thing or this was another Salos from a different time. It was a woman so he had no clue.
"Hello it is nice that you have chosen to go on the path of a humanoid Kaiju or Kaijin. While Kaiju are born with what they are, Kaijin are always made. Though some could argue that rebirthing counted as being born again, but we digress."
"Now it is important to chose the right thing, rampaging or simply being useless are possibilities. However it is better to not let you know that till it is too late. While this is a prerecorded message, AI will allow me to help you with anything you may need."
The woman on the screen then looked at Salos sighed and looked over at Haseo and pinched her face. "Are you kidding me? I know all answers can be the right one but you picked a harder one."
The woman then motioned to her side and words started appearing. "You have chosen a literally demon, a HIGH RANKING GREAT DUKE, are you insane?!"
Haseo leaned back in his seat. "For an AI, you sure are being really mean. I am not insane, though I still don't understand why picking him is a problem. Could you care to explain?"
The woman rubbed her face and started pacing. She sighed and looked back at him, disappointed. "Lifeform, this is the first Artifact you have to create and makes up your first fleet. The reason it is first because it is a default and everyone has to pick it. Lifeform forces the first thing you pick to mean Lifeform, meaning if you picked a sin first it would cause that to be your basic building block of your NPC race."
"You picked a Great Duke, which is below the sins and kings but this isn't much better. In truth most people choose simple things like swords or an element to make their NPCs."
The women glared over at Salos before looking back at Haseo. "Though a sin is bad to chose, because who it invites in, but it would of been better to pick."
She pointed at the words to the side, the words changing and showing information that would help him better understand.
"When you pick someone like him, you put it all up to chance what you can do. He seems to be able to help you influence others. But it isn't so simple."
"You invoke emotions or feelings, something a bit different from others that came before you. You can still make make people feel love for you or others but the fact you can change feelings is an issue."
Haseo wondered if he could control emotions, could he make himself perfectly happy? It would help solve many problems he would face in the future if nothing could make him sad.
The woman looked at him and laughed. "I don't know why you are getting happy about this. It was never once stated you can control it, just you affect it. After all, the power Salos gives is Lifeform to you because of picking him."
"Uhh, sorry, so it is like a passive I can't control? I am assuming that is what you mean. So I guess it is sorta like a racial trait, though aircraft doesn't really make it racial but I guess it could?"
"Hmm, a passive you can't control? Sure, that makes the most sense. I guess your own feelings can affect it. In truth, I guess the best way to say it all would be you vibe well. Like, if someone nearby is feeling an emotion you can share it with others or add or subtract from the feelings."
She looked at Haseo and back at Salos. Then she waved away the words to the side and started stretching.
"I guess we should get on with it. One last thing before I leave this subject, be careful what you add to this power. I don't know why it mutated like this, but anything that deals with emotion ends poorly."
"Now, back to you being a Kaijin. What is more suspicious, the giant free range chicken eating everyone at the park or some single guy in his 20s sitting at home all day?"
"Now as long as you aren't a detective with plot help, only the chicken is a problem. But in fact the man sitting at home is you. It wasn't always you but now it is."
"We are beings that are amazing at stealth in the open. When we get the power of shape shifting, we can take over whole cities with no one being the wiser."
"But at the start, like you are now, you are not much better than a normal person. You seem to be a person filled with emotions so this power does suit you. But don't expect to be able to punch a spaceship to pieces."
The woman looked over at Salos one last time. "I don't know if he told you, not everyone includes all information in a slither of soul to be used up like a consumable. But you will only be able to affect the real world once you combine your powers it into an artifact. Even then, it will be a party trick for a long time."
Haseo sighed. "I just remembered this is going to take 13 years. Is it about to be words nonstop for so long?"
The woman looked back at Haseo. "Right, the first month. It is all about getting you to understand what you might be able to accomplish with your relic and setting the groundwork."
She turned around and walked off screen.
The projector turned off and Haseo's system menu appeared in front of him.
[Dive:1 Month:1 Day:2 Lifeform Kaiju. For the next 13 years, read up information on all types of Kaiju.]
A tablet appeared in front of Haseo, it had all the information about Kaiju in existence. He needed to read every word in order however. No pages could be skipped and every word most be said out loud or read in their mind.
Haseo noticed the lack of reading materials that Salos had. Salos smiled at him. "I just came in to make you take the right path. Honestly my main conscience hasn't looked over at you at all. He might pay attention later, out of all the variations of the main name, Salos is least popular version and he likes to meet those that choose him over the others."
