"Well done, not bad for your first time" Joseph Randall said as Aven started to open his eye, he could feel the change inside of himself.
As he looked in front of him there was a mass of black and gold swirls that formed a slit in the air before him. 'Is that a galaxy'. His eye's widening slightly the more he looked. 'it's amazing'.
"By the way how are you feeling, your chest looks like it's still bleeding." Aven heard Joseph Randall say.
'My chest, what?' Aven turned from the spell to look down at his chest and saw that the makeshift bandage had become stained red with blood, and it seemed to be spreading.
'What, how could I not have felt that it was getting worse.' Just like that the thrill that he got from casting his first spell was gone and reality came crashing back.
He reached for the edge of his bandage and started to pull the makeshift bandage away to get a look at the wound on his chest.
What he saw made him cringe as he saw that the wound was now bleeding again and that the edges where red and inflamed.
'It's infected and I don't have anything that I can use to help with the fight the infection.' Aven looked down at the flames as he tried to think of what he could do now.
"Aven look at me?" Joseph Randall said "Let me help you" he stood up and moved closer before couching down. "I will not do anything that you don't agree to, but you need to get that seen to and unless you believe anyone in the village will help, I really am your best option right now."
Aven looked at him 'I do need help this is beyond what I know how to deal with, I not even sure that I would have what was need to fix this or even start.' He turned to look into the flames 'but I can I really trust him; I mean so far, he hasn't done anything, but this is my health we talking about here but if I do nothing it just going to keep getting worse. Do I have anything to lose right now?'
"Alright, but I want to know what you're doing as we go along, please" Aven whisper as he turn his head towards Joseph Randall.
"That I can do, so let's have a look at that wound shall we." Joseph Randall moved closer and started to truly peel away the edge of the bandage so that the whole of the wound would be visible to him.

Joseph almost flinch as he finished removing the makeshift bandage. 'This is
worse than I thought.'
"Aven, can you tell me what caused this wound it looks like claws, but I know that it isn't from the fight we were all in yesterday." He asked looking Aven in the eyes.
'Will you talk about it or hedge about what happened.'
"Several hours ago, I got attacked by another malikia that just appeard from now where," Aven indicated towards where Joseph knew the newest malikia's carcase was located.
"It caught me unaware and as we fought; I took several hits before it finally went down. I lost some time after that as I don't really remember it getting dark."
"So, did this one appear like the other one did early" Joseph asked as he moved his hand in the air across the top of the wound his hand producing a light blue colour.
"I'm just checking to see what is happening with the wound."
Aven looked at him "Yes, it appeared without any warning like the one from early and with no signs that it was there until it was already attacking."
"I'm going to cast another spell this one will be aimed at fighting infection, and it should start the healing process. I don't want to risk closing the wound with magic till we deal with the infection." Joseph brought his hand up and this time it produced a pale green light and the wounds edges slowly started to lose the redness and the slowly started to close up.
"When it attacked didn't anyone from the village try to help" Joseph asked as he kept the spell going till all of the redness was gone.
Aven chuckled as he watched the wound "No one from the village would ever help me".
Aven froze before his head turned sharply towards the forest. "Where have they gone?"
Joseph turned sharply towards the forest, 'where could they have gone, how is that possible'. He looked towards Aven seeing that he was also looking at the forest and thought of what he just said 'so, all this time he was able to uses his sense to track as well and his must be at least the equivalent to rank 6 to have detected that far out'.
"Well, you are just full of surprise aren't you Aven. You could sense the other Malikias as well."
Aven pause at what was said and turn wide eyes to look back at him.
"Don't look so scared right now Aven, you are just far more advanced than I thought you were."
"What do you mean?" Aven asked.
"You already showed some of the abilities that you could use, and certain ones are often link in a way when it comes to learning and utilizing them." Joseph explained as he looked back out into the forest. "Your abilities are amazing Aven. Maybe we can get you to realize that someday."
Joseph turned back towards Aven "Let's finish getting that wound of yours treated and then I'm going to need your help ."
Joseph actives his pocket spell and removed some more bandages to redress the wound now that the infection was treated, and the claw marks reduced.
"You will have to take it slowly for a while as it would not be a good idea to treat it completely right now as my healing spells are not the best."
Aven nodded without taking his eyes of the forest. "Where could the rest of them have gone?"
"Now that I don't know but I'm going to ask for your help to find out" Joseph remarked as he turned to look at Aven. "Afterall, I don't know this area well at all but you. You know this area really well don't you.
