I then immediately went towards the place where I felt a really dark feeling from. Dark magic is price dependant magic most of the time. The thing about dark magic is that you can increase your power easily with sacrifices. That does not mean you can't learn without sacrificing. The normal method is just like learning other magic which takes time.
But the difference between two paths is shown by the aura they release. The path that takes time and hard work shows a slightly scary aura while the aura made with sacrifices shows the aura of death and decay which irritates every senses of a person including the magical one. The sacrificial way can be done by two ways. Either by sacrificing oneself or others. But most of the time, after sacrificing oneself results in missing of body parts like eyes or a limb, long age due to the sacrifice of lifespan and sometimes an incurable disease and all of which will eventually lead to death sooner or later. But the sacrificing of others does not lead to death, but their aura will be indistinguishable from beings such as zombies or skeletons and yes they do exist, and any basic sensing wizard can detect and distinguish their aura.
Right now, the aura being released by Jose in the top of the castle can be described as pure sacrificial magic and the last time I saw him, I never saw him with any kind of self-sacrificial indicators. So, the only way he could have attained this power level is by sacrificing the lives of others. I know for a fact that even though Jose is a wizard saint, some members of the council had wanted to arrest him as many of his guildmembers are said to have mysteriously disappeared and he had taken many dark guild subjugation quests and had taken the lives of everyone there. The reports he submitted says that he had to use lethal force due to the power level of the guild that he had faced.
But now looking at his aura, the chances are he used his guildmembers as well as the dark guild to fuel his dark magic. He had not fought any decisive battle against any other wizard saint or strong wizard otherwise the aura he releases would have been easily detected and he would have been hunted down by almost all the wizards of Fiore.
But now we had pushed him enough that he is blatantly releasing his dark magic energy and thinking about it now, his aim is to kidnap Lucy and demand money from the Heartfilia family. Chances are after today he is going towards the path of Dark Guild and will commit even more crimes as well.
I smashed through the wall to find Erza confronting Jose
"So here you are, the fairy tactician of this generation and Titania the queen of the fairies, both standing in the way of my guild"
Then he looked sharply at me
"The spies at the docks waiting for you had kidnapped the doctor and found out that you can't use magic for a few days, didn't expect you to use such an armour as this. Well, no matter, after I kill you, I will tear off that armour and find out all its secrets. The power of a dragon and magic reflection is interesting"
"Why are you after Lucy" Erza said as she requiped her armour with wings as well as a Dark sword. One of her strongest armour focussed more on offence rather than defence.
"You damn guild had surpassed us suddenly in the last decade or so. Ur Ultear, Erza, Cana, Laxus, Mystogan and the most annoying of all you"
He then pointed at me with unbridled fury
"Karna Vermillion, the guild member with extensive connections to the council, political power and having a record of not causing any problems thereby getting the support of the public. I could have forgiven all of that but now I heard that you have a new member. Lucy Heartfilia heir to the vast industrious empire of Heartfilia. I cannot forgive that and anything you do anymore, so I decided to take you down today and take that girl and use her to increase my power"
"Hey Erza, I know you want to beat the crap out of him. But can you give me a turn first, I feel like beating the crap out of him with my new armour till I destroy his delusion that he's stronger than me when I am not using my magic"
"He attacked Master using sneak attack Karna, I can't forgive him, so I will take him out alone"
"But come on Erza, you see this armour, I have never used it before so can you give me this one please, you can have the next one if you want"

Erza and looked at each other without any kind of stress and answered at the same time.

I can see nerves popping on Jose's head at the blatant disrespect shown towards him. But you can't deny the fact that Erza is in a good condition, so she has a good chance of beating him by her own and while I only used this armour for some time now, but the more I use it, the more it seems to be adapting to accommodate me as well.
"Let's start Jose" I said
