Chapter 3 - Lakeside Sect

I have decided to go on an infinite Sabbatical. My whole life, I have been living in fear of the outside world, only imagining what it looked like out there. This was brought out by my master's and my fellow disciples' death. Due to that, I was traumatized deeply by it and never left the sect even in the company of other elders.

"But now, now I am will explore everything this world has to offer me with no limits. I will not be held back till I taste all the adventure it has and then, only then, will I be satisfied," he declared as he let a fraction of his aura out. The mountain range in which he had teleported on was instant vaporized along with anything in a thousand miles. All was left was a crater of untold depth, like an abyss staring at the sky. Amos was floating in the sky, feeling sheepish of his outburst.

He stretched his left arm out and got hold of the temperal laws in the area. It felt slightly like they were resisting but he was almighty. Without any effort, he whipped them into his control, his will commanding them and with a gesture, he reversed them, making all the destruction he had caused to disappear and everything was back to how they were before.

"Holy shit, that was awesome!" Amos exclaimed when he was done. Doing his calculations, the amount of power he had just thrown was enough to make a Mahayana Realm cultivator to die with envy at the amount needed to do this! Yet, he felt like he hadn't even done anything!

"I am going to enjoy using every last drop of my new power," he laughed maniacally. A few minutes of shaping reality in a mile radius into anything he wanted, he was holding an entire omniverse the size of a baseball in the palm of his hand. Clasping his hand into a fist, the omniverse just fizzled out of existence making him feel ready to face the universe and all its Xinxia rubbish!

"But first," he said as he turned his gaze towards West as his blue eyes narrowed down to a huge metal gate well ordinated with jewels, gold, diamonds and a giant head of a demon. He shrunk space, causing it to be elastic between two points and him as the load and when he let go of it, he was in front of the giant gate. Of anyone was there, it would have seemed like he just took a step and he was ten thousand six hundred a fifty seven miles away! Once again, the Xinxia was very strong in this new universe, the planet was couple of million miles in diameter yet its gravity did not crush all its habitants to space dust!

"Who goes there?" someone yelled from atop the giant wall.

"My name is Amos and I am here for official business with your Elders and Sect Master," Amos shouted back as he let out an aura reminiscent of a Nirvana Realm cultivator. He felt the speaker shiver in fright before a red firework was shot into the sky.

The sky was illuminated by a cascading light of red that hovered a top his head stubbornly. He could do something about that but why bother. Seconds after, sixteen men and women arrived in front of him, ready to fight.

"Peace, friends, I am not here to fight," Amos said with a gentle smile, rising his hands up. "Well, I am here to fight but having a civil conversation would be best."

"Who are you?" a giant bear of a man holding an equally larger great sword asked, his voice gruff and wild. However, he smelled oddly like roses, contradicting his caveman looks.

"I am Amos, an Elder on Sabbatical and I am here for vengeance," Amos answered truthfully. The sixteen were off put by his honesty, looking at each other unsure what to do. One of them, however, came forward as a woman followed behind him, her red eyes set on him.

"I am Godfrey, Sect Master of the Lakeside Sect. If I may ask but why are you looking for vengeance in my sect and be bold about it?" he asked, puzzled.

"I have recently not become fond of lying, it's beneath me. Besides, the truth will come out later anyway. As for why I am here for vengeance, an Elder and his disciples set upon my master and fellow disciples, killing them in cold blood before leaving with no consequences. I am here to avenge their spilt blood," Amos answered. The man looked surprised by his words before he started laughing and the rest joined him too.

"You? A Nirvana Realm brat thinks you can come here, in my Sect and kill anyone who you want without any consequences?" Godfrey suddenly exploded, his Mahayana Realm cultivator let out, its aura setting the air and land on fire a testament to his power and anger. However, he frowned when he saw Amos, unlike his elders and like his Dao Protector, was looking unbothered. In fact, he had a faint smile on his face which was disturbing.

"Flaunting power, I see. I wish I could do that, there are too many innocents in this world however. But, I can do this," Amos chuckled before stretching out his hand. Suddenly, as if he was always right there, he appeared in front of Godfrey and his pinky finger touched his chest.

BOOOM!

As if the sky had been torn apart, Godfrey felt himself being hit by an ungodly force that causes a shockwave strong enough to send everyone flying away as hi himself was sent sprawling backwards, demolishing his precious Sect's magnificent gate and went on causing damages to his properties till thebother side and disappeared in the horizon.

"Look at that, and that wasn't even a fraction of my power!" Amos ominously said.

"You!" Godfrey's Dao Protector roared as she does towards him with a martial skill. However, to everyone else, she was barely moving. Even her blinking would take several days to everyone else.

"Look, I'm not here to cause deaths and whatnot, I'm just here to kill that shameless Elder and his disciples," Amos sighed in regret and told the remaining Elders.

"You will have to go through our corpses first," the wild man said. His body glowed with a Martial arts as a vestige of a Draconic Bear appeared behind him. With a roar, he unsheathed his great sword and lunged at him. Amos scoffed and the man's body crumbled into pebbles. This made everyone feel chills travel down their spine for they didn't feel him use Qi.

"Anyone else brave enough to test their luck?" Amos asked seriously. The others stepped back in fear before one of them came forward and knelt before him.

"I am Elder Killian of the Bloodfest Peak, it was me who killed your master. Yes, I did it out of greed and have never regretted killing him until today. Please, I know its a lot but I hope my sincere confession will deter you from killing anyone else," the man said, tears threatening to fall down his face. Amos looked at him and chuckled mockingly.

"What a blackhearted man. You think this little performance is enough to guarantee your life?" Amos chuckled, outstretching his arm to the sky. Suddenly, the entire world became dark and as he reached out, a star in the sky twinkled and appeared in his palm. Amos stretched the hand towards the sect as he put a barrier that covered the entire sect.

"I am petty, so petty in fact I had already decided to kill you all as soon as I received the message. This isn't justice, this is vengeance and vengeance is cruel!" Amos said decisively.

The burning star on his trembled once before going supernova. The Elders didn't even know how they died let alone all the disciples. In an instant, the barrier was filled with thousands of nuclear explosions that shook the earth to a point of causing ravines spanning hundreds of miles even when the barrier was absorbing most of the shockwaves. For two hours, the supernova raged on, reducing everything inside the barrier into fuel before nothing was left.

The barrier started shrinking and shrinking till it was the size of a marble. Amos picked up the marble, looked into it and nodded solemnly. He then put the marble into his mouth and crashed it in between his teeth, absorbing all the aftermath completely into himself. What was left of the Lakeside Sect was a giant crater that span its entire territory.

"I'm sorry," Amos sighed apologetically to the innocent lives he just killed today before snapping his fingers and the crater was now a calm lake with a small island filled with trees numbering the exact digits the Lakeside Sect had for disciples. With that, he teleported away, now ready for his adventure.
