Chereads / Path to Dual Cultivation / Chapter 31 - Burning the Heavens

Chapter 31 - Burning the Heavens

"Huh? About what?" Bai Yufeng asked with raised eyebrows after seeing Senior Wu's perplexed expression.

"The dual cultivators are already aware of his existence…"

"What? When did this happen?"

Senior Wu sighed and proceeded to recall their encounter with the Eternal Devotion Valley.

Bai Yufeng nodded and said, "I understand, but since your Sect hasn't been overwhelmed or attacked by dual cultivators trying to acquire Su Yang, there's a good chance the Eternal Devotion Valley kept such information to themselves… for now."

He continued, "I will make a visit to the Eternal Devotion Valley immediately to convince them to continue doing so. It shouldn't take too long, but in the meantime, you can start studying the cultivation technique."

Bai Yufeng retrieved a manual from his sleeves and offered it to Su Yang.

After accepting the manual, Su Yang brought it closer to his face and muttered its name, "Burning the Heavens… What an overbearing and aggressive name…"

"It's the perfect name for a defiant such as yourself, Su Yang." Bai Yufeng laughed out loud.

"After all, your very existence defies what the heavens usually disallow."

"Anyway, this cultivation technique mainly focuses on increasing the quality of your Yang Qi while ignoring its quantity, which is perfect for the Boundless Yang Constitution since you essentially already have infinite Yang Qi."

"Also, don't start practicing the cultivation technique until I return. Just focus on memorizing its contents for now."

Su Yang nodded and bowed to Bai Yufeng, "Thank you, Senior Bai, for this precious cultivation technique."

"I hope it serves you well. Then I will leave for now."

Bai Yufeng left shortly after and made his way to the Eternal Devotion Valley.

"I have never seen an Ancient-rank cultivation technique before." Senior Wu stared at the manual in Su Yang's hands with an envious look.

"Want to look at it, Master?" Su Yang offered.

"What? Heavens, no! I don't even dare to touch it, much less look at it. The cultivation technique belongs to the Divine Yang Sword Mountain, and only you have the authority to hold it." Senior Wu immediately refused, even taking several steps back, almost as if he was afraid of the manual in Su Yang's grasp.

"If you say so."

"I would give you a storage ring to keep that cultivation technique safe, but only cultivators are able to use them, so you'll have to keep it in your room for now," said Senior Wu.

"I understand."

Su Yang returned to his room shortly after and immediately started studying the cultivation technique.

Meanwhile, Senior Wu went to speak with Han Jianzhi.

"I see. Hopefully, he'll be able to convince the Eternal Devotion Valley to not release the information." Han Jianzhi sighed.

Senior Wu shrugged, "With his handsome face and profound cultivation, I'm sure he'll be able to convince the Eternal Devotion Valley to do anything for him. They'll probably ask him to cultivate with them in exchange, too."

Han Jianzhi looked at him with slightly wide eyes and smiled, "Someone sounds envious."

"Your mother is envious." Senior Wu sneered before stomping out of the place.

Bai Yufeng returned to the Fleeting Sword Sect a week later.

"I have spoken with the Sect Leader of the Eternal Devotion Valley, and she has given me her word that she won't share information on Su Yang with the other dual cultivators, so everything should be fine now."

"How did you manage to convince her?" Senior Wu couldn't help but ask.

Bai Yufeng responded with a slight blush, "Let's just say I had to do a lot of convincing with several people…"

Senior Wu nearly cried after hearing such words.

Bai Yufeng cleared his throat and turned to look at Su Yang.

"Anyways, how is your progress with the cultivation technique?"

"I've managed to memorize the entire thing," he said.

"Great. Then you can start cultivating. I will watch over you until you become a Cultivator. This could take weeks if not months depending on your talents."

"I usually cultivate in my room, but should I do it out here instead?" Su Yang asked.

Bai Yufeng retrieved a blue talisman and said, "You can cultivate out here without worry of being disturbed. This talisman will create a formation around you that will block all distractions. You won't notice it even if someone is training right in front of you."

Su Yang nodded and immediately sat on the ground in the training ground.

Bai Yufeng then said, "I will stop you if I notice something wrong."

"I understand."

Bai Yufeng activated the talisman a moment later, creating a small formation around Su Yang's figure.

Su Yang closed his eyes shortly after and started reciting the cultivation technique inside his head.

Bai Yufeng turned to look at Senior Wu and said, "I will watch over him now so you can return to your duties. If anything happens, I will call for you."

"Thank you, Senior Bai." Senior Wu bowed to him before disappearing from the scene.

At that time, nobody could've expected how fast Su Yang would become a Cultivator.

Two hours after Su Yang closed his eyes, his body started emitting a faint but unmistakable aura that only belonged to Cultivators.

"Hm? Has he already successfully comprehended the cultivation technique? This is a little too fast even if his body is compatible with the cultivation technique."

Feeling doubtful, Bai Yufeng used his spiritual sense to peek inside Su Yang's Dantian, and sure enough, it had been awakened and activated, signifying the birth of a Cultivator.

Furthermore, the quality of Yang Qi within Su Yang's body also increased significantly, surpassing Yang Qi cultivators with 10 years of experience in the blink of an eye.

However, since the cultivation technique focused on improving the quality of his Yang Qi, Su Yang's cultivation base rose slower than expected, and it took him an entire month to reach the first level of Elementary Spirit Realm when it typically required around a week for an ordinary cultivator to achieve the same feat.

Still, Bai Yufeng was left astonished by Su Yang's achievements.
