Kifayat saw the boy who had just arrived, breathing heavily, his hair disheveled but unable to hide his handsomeness. There was something familiar about him. "Where have I seen him before?" she wondered.
Cyra, her friend, looked surprised and exclaimed, "Senior?!"
Kifayat asked, "You know him?"
Cyra replied, "Don't you remember? It's our senior from high school. He was very famous. Not only him, but Senior Samir was also from our school and one of the outstanding students. I was hesitant to ask him just now." Kifayat then remembered seeing him a few times before. "No wonder he looks familiar," she thought. Cyra added, "Senior is still as handsome as ever, just a bit colder and but he looks more mature now."
"Oh, you've arrived. Sit here," Samir, Arbaz's best friend, told him. After Arbaz sat down next to him, Samir continued, "Let me introduce you to him."
Cyra happily said, "We know you, Senior Arbaz. Senior Samir, you were our seniors in high school. You were outstanding students, and even now, you guys are very famous."
Samir was delighted to hear the praise. "Haha. Then we are lucky hear compliments from such a beautiful girl. Let me tell you, he is still one of our department's top students. If you have any problems with your studies, you can ask him."
Arbaz elbowed Samir and said, "We are not from the same department."
"Oh, I forgot. You should be from biotechnology," Samir quickly added.
Kifayat asked, confused, "How did you know?"
"Huh?" Samir realized he had made a slip of the tongue. "I... didn't you guys just say it?"
"I don't remember mentioning my department," Kifayat replied.
"That..." Seeing Samir struggling to make an excuse, Arbaz interjected, "Neil said it."
"Yes, yes, didn't you tell us?" Samir signaled Neil to say something.
Neil, dazed, nodded. "I think I said that before."
Samir quickly changed the topic. "It doesn't matter which department you are from; you girls are like sisters to us. If you need anything, feel free to ask us."
Seeing them so enthusiastic, and knowing they were from the same high school, Kifayat felt a closer bond to them. She decided to ask them directly about the person she was trying to find. At that moment, she didn't know that the person she wanted to find was sitting right in front of her.
"I actually need some help finding someone." Kifayat and Cyra then told them the whole story about the anonymous letter guy.
"And that's all we know," Kifayat finished.
"Woah. It feels like a story from a movie," Dina, Kifayat's new roommate, exclaimed. "Can you please show me one of those letters?"
Kifayat was a little embarrassed to show them the letters. So she tacitly denied, "I don't have the letter with me. But I found a notebook with similar handwriting."
Then Kifayat suddenly remembered something. "Oh! I forgot to mention, although I'm not sure, I think he has a girlfriend named Princess."
Samir, who was drinking water, sprayed it from his mouth and choked. "Cough, cough." Even Arbaz was dumbfounded hearing that name. "When did he have a girlfriend? No, that's not the main point. How did she know this name?" Countless questions came to his mind. He looked at Samir, the culprit who caused the misunderstanding, with a killer look.
Dina furrowed her eyebrows. "Then could he be a scumbag? He sent you such ambiguous letters even though he had a girlfriend?"
Amal laughed, "pfft! Such a easy name. I didn't know you..." Amal gulped down the words that he was going to say looking at Arbaz serious look.
Samir said weakly, quite afraid of Arbaz's somber look, "Maybe it's not his girlfriend's name but something else."
"What else could it be? Ex- girlfriend ? or it couldn't be that his name is Princess?" Kifayat blurted out what she thought previously.
This time Arbaz choked. How did she guess so correctly?
"But we shouldn't say anything without knowing the truth. If he didn't have a girlfriend but always liked you, wouldn't it be slander to him?" Samir tried his best to save his friend's reputation.
Dina nodded, seemingly convinced, but Kifayat didn't say anything, just looked at Samir with some suspicion.
She wanted to ask something more but then Neil started reprimanding Cyra and Kifayat after listening the story, "You shouldn't talk to these types of suspicious people. Why didn't you tell us about this matter before? If he is some bad guy, then do you know what could have happened..."
Amal, seeing Neil scolding his sister, winked at him to stop. Thinking to himself, "Hey buddy, the man you're scolding now is the guy you always worship and he's sitting right next to you." But Neil didn't understand his meaning. "Are your eyes cramping? Why are you blinking so hard?" Neil asked Amal, confused. Feeling embarrassed, Amal fed Neil a mouthful of food. "Stop talking now, eat first."
Arbaz, who had been quiet during the conversation, suddenly spoke supporting Neil's previous teaching, "He is not wrong, Amal," he said coldly to Kifayat. "It's wrong for you to accept something from a total stranger without knowing their intentions. I get that you are curious teenagers, but now it's not the same. You are University students. You should be more mature and sensible while doing everything."
Kifayat felt dumbfounded and uncomfortable in her heart. Never in her life had someone called her immature or insensible, not even her parents. Although she was sometimes naughty, she never let herself be at a disadvantage. Her favor towards Arbaz dropped. Cyra also felt that her friend was quite angry now. The situation suddenly turned very serious. Nobody knew what to say anymore.
Arbaz's friend Samir stared at Arbaz in awe. "What nonsense is this guy talking about? Isn't the culprit who sent the letter himself? Why is he scolding himself? Not only is he scolding himself but also making the girl angry."
He silently lit a candle for his friend in his heart. Brother, you are definitely going to regret it.!!
