Olivia clutched her phone tightly in her hand, trying to remain calm as the storm outside grew more violent. The wind howled, and rain hammered against the windows, making it nearly impossible to think straight. The power outage had plunged her small flat into darkness, and the only light came from her phone's screen. She stared at the damped Aaron in confusion.
"I heard about the storm and the blackout. I got worried," Aaron replied, stepping inside quickly as Olivia moved aside.
Olivia's eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't seen Aaron in weeks, and now here he was, showing up in the middle of a storm. "I'm fine, really," she said, trying to sound convincing.
Aaron wasn't buying it. "Liv, you shouldn't be alone right now. It's dangerous, especially with the power out," he said, his voice filled with concern. "You should come stay at my apartment until the storm passes."
