Chapter 17 - Finding Olivia

Aaron wasn't happy with the news he got from Amelia. He was scared as hell that Olivia's baby was his. So he told his peeps to find Olivia, wherever the hell she was.

"Find this chick ASAP," Aaron ordered his trusty guard who was pretty damn good at finding missing peeps. He pointed his finger forward for emphasis.

"Got it, boss!" the guard replied, nodding vigorously. He gave Aaron a thumbs-up to show his understanding.

"And don't take too long, if it's more than three days, I'll cut your damn pay," Aaron said with a serious face. He crossed his arms and leaned in closer to the guard, making sure his message was crystal clear.

"Is this really important, boss?" the guard asked again, scratching his head. He raised his eyebrow, looking slightly puzzled.

"Hell yeah! But remember, don't tell anyone 'cause it's hella confidential," Aaron warned sternly. He made a zipping motion across his lips to signify secrecy.

The guard excused himself and went to his car to carry out his important task from his boss. He saluted Aaron before turning and strutting away confidently.

Olivia walked towards the low-class apartment that she rented. That's been her routine lately 'cause she worked late as a cashier in a mini-market.

But tonight, she hadn't eaten 'cause there was no discounted food left. So she stopped at a grocery store to buy groceries because cooking would be more budget-friendly.

Shopping at the grocery store was a refreshing and enjoyable activity for Olivia. She smiled as she found plenty of fresh and nutritious food. But the prices made her reconsider buying. She raised her eyebrows and pursed her lips, contemplating her options.

There were no discounts she hoped for to buy some animal protein. Her money was tight 'cause she hadn't received her salary for this month. She frowned and sighed, feeling the weight of her financial situation.

"I guess it's gonna be just potatoes for dinner tonight, baby!" Olivia said, rubbing her stomach with a disappointed and sad feeling. She was pregnant. But her wallet couldn't meet the nutritional needs of the baby in her belly. She shrugged her shoulders helplessly.

With a heavy heart, Olivia then grabbed a bag of potatoes. She headed to the cashier to pay. Baked potato wedges without oil and dipped in ketchup would be filling enough for tonight.

But just as she was about to pay, someone from behind filled Olivia's shopping cart with several bags of fresh fruits and vegetables. Not only that, but some packs of animal protein also made their way into her cart. Olivia's eyes widened in surprise as she turned around to see who it was.

"Heeey! I can't afford—"

Olivia didn't finish her sentence 'cause standing in front of her was Aaron, giving her an unfriendly look. He raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms, displaying his disapproval.

"Are you just gonna feed my baby potatoes?" he said with a sharp whisper, not wanting to make a scene. He leaned in closer, pointing his finger at her stomach. "Don't let my kid lack nutrition 'cause of an irresponsible mom like you."

"Hey!" Olivia wanted to protest. But she realized that she shouldn't argue in public. She bit her lip and clenched her fists, restraining herself.

She could only stay silent as Aaron swiped his black card to pay at the cashier. He tapped his foot impatiently, waiting for the transaction to be completed. Once done, he grabbed Olivia's hand firmly and led her to his car.

"Aaron, I—"

"Why did you keep this from me?" Aaron interrupted, his voice filled with frustration. He shook his head in disbelief, looking into Olivia's eyes for an explanation.
