Amelia Wang, an eight-year-old girl with brunette hair tied into two ponytails, ran towards Nicholas Zhao, a handsome teenage boy with blond hair. Despite the nine-year age gap between them, it didn't stop the young girl from having a crush on the teenage boy. His beautiful emerald green eyes always made her heart flutter.
"Nick, I have something to show you!" the little girl exclaimed, her hands hidden behind her back, clutching a picture book.
"What is it, Amy?" the young man asked with a friendly smile, displaying a slightly exaggerated enthusiasm.
Little did Amelia know, at this moment Nicholas cared deeply for her. Amelia's face turned red. "Nick, you're so kind. I really like you!"
"I like you too," Nicholas replied. "You're adorable and cute."
"Really?" the little girl's face lit up. She never expected that the boy she admired would also like her in return.
Her face grew even more bashful. Her blue eyes looked at Nicholas with hope. "In that case, will you marry me in the future?" she asked innocently.
Nicholas chuckled. "I'm sorry, my dear! In the future, I will marry Olivia because she's my fiancée, and we love each other." He ruffled the little girl's hair and pinched her cheek. "You'll find a man you love and who loves you in return. When that happens, you'll marry him."
The little girl's heart shattered upon hearing her prince's response. Her body trembled, and she wanted to cry.
"Nick, let's go! It's getting late," shouted Olivia, Amelia's beautiful older sister who was also Nicholas's girlfriend. "The boys are waiting for us."
"Okay! Coming!" Nicholas replied. He ran to his girlfriend after saying goodbye to Amelia and gave her a peck on her cheek.
At that moment, Amelia could only watch her older sister walking hand in hand with her dream prince. She held the drawing of herself and Nicholas wearing wedding attire in the future.
Tears streamed down Amelia's face, dampening the crayon-drawn picture on her hand.
In despair, she could only stare at the drawing. A dream that seemed impossible. Shortly after, her tiny hands tore the picture apart. She was determined to stop liking Nicholas.
But the reality proved that the task was far from easy.
