Su Wen did not refuse the intention of Sea God. The Light of Sea God has the effect of compressing the physical body for Spirit Masters, allowing them to better experience physical changes and thus more effectively operate Soul Power. However, to be honest, the compression of the Light of Sea God does seem to have some use. Su Wen can perceive any detail within his body, but if there is no change in the body itself, no amount of perception can detect it.
The entire Sea God Island is vast, with a circular sea encircling a small island at its center. This small island, surrounded by the circular sea, is the forbidden area of Sea God Island and the location of the Light of Sea God.
Su Wen set out with Sea Dragon Douluo from Sea Dragon City towards the forbidden area. After passing through a primeval forest, Su Wen saw the circular sea ahead and the small island known as the forbidden area.

According to Su Wen, the Sea Spirit Master who brought them here would provide some hints, but Hai Da and the others had clearly not noticed them. Su Wen wasn't a babysitter; he had initially intended to remind them but later forgot, and now it seemed they hadn't figured it out.
The Light of Sea God was not something just anyone could attempt. Typically, only Sea Spirit Masters at the Black-level Trial would be involved with it on the island. Even though these sailors, some of whom were only at the Yellow-level assessment, had the test of crossing the Light of Sea God, it was actually a sign of Sea God's favoritism towards Su Wen.
"Sigh, the Light of Sea God isn't used like that," Su Wen said to Hai Da. "Try ascending to the tenth-level steps and see if you can cultivate your Soul Power there."
Hai Da's eyes lit up as he followed Su Wen's advice, ascending to the tenth-level steps and attempting to circulate his Soul Power. He immediately noticed a difference.
"Try the Body Tempering Technique," Su Wen continued to suggest.
Hai Da promptly adjusted his Soul Power Circulation Route to follow the Body Tempering Technique's pathway and was pleasantly surprised.
"Master Wen, under the pressure of the Light of Sea God, my cultivation efficiency has been greatly enhanced, especially for the Body Tempering Technique."
Su Wen nodded and looked at the other sailors. They, too, had brightened up and all bowed to Su Wen.
"Thank you, Master Wen, for your guidance."
Su Wen waved his hand and, having shared the technique, didn't waste any more time and began ascending the 1st steps.
Hai Da stepped down from the tenth-level steps, watching Su Wen with curiosity, eager to see Master Wen's limit.
Among the sailors, most had assessment tasks to reach levels between thirty-six and seventy two with Hai Da's task being the highest, requiring him to ascend to the one hundred eighth step.
Of course, their deadline was three years, not the one year of the Shrek Seven Devils in the original text, because they were Sea Spirit Masters. Even though they were not from Sea God Island, their faith in Sea God had persisted from birth to the present.
Among the sixteen of them, Hai Da, who reached the highest step, was only at level thirty-six. This was despite his desperate use of various Spirit Skills to ascend, and the aftermath had been severe; Hai Da had to rest for a full day to recover.
