Chapter 4 - We Need a Plan!

It was now my third death, but as expected, it's not like having more experience makes it better. For 24 hours, a little better than before, I was stuck in bed.

Ah, right, of course, the police still came to arrest the annoying foreigners living below me for firing their firearms inside a residential area without a valid reason. I didn't even need to call to get them running since the other neighbors did it for me.

Anyway, the only reason I got up earlier is that I want to go live immediately.

It's currently half past midnight on December 31, so I'm guessing my viewers were still asleep, but as soon as I went online, three of them instantly got on.

"Woah, that was quick!" I laughed with a dash of anxiety. After all, my arms and legs were still shaking from the aftereffects of my rebirth. "Welcome, you three! As you see, I'm about to do a review of superpowers right now... though I already know your powers."

The suggestiveness in my tone quickly made them curious, challenging me to name their abilities perfectly. Well, I don't have that great a memory, but these three are the ones that had the best skills I saw before, so they got stuck in my mind.

"Lo and behold! Heartu66, you have Fishing and Butcher! KillMeBibi, you possess the Invisibility and Assassin abilities, a perfect combination, and lastly, Garuda has Pyrokinesis, dancing, and hand-to-hand combat!"

As I named their abilities accurately, the chat was then filled with disbelief and surprise. All three became curious about how I knew their abilities, so I acted smug while crossing my arms.

"I wonder~? Should I tell you~?" I teased, making them chat even more.

After having a little fun, I laughed lightly before announcing it to them flatly. "It's because I heard it from you all directly."

"What? Telepathy? Mind reading?!"

"Lololol! Is it foresight?"

"D*mn! How the hell did you know? I won't believe such BS!"

Of course, they didn't believe what I said immediately. To prove it to them, I did the same thing I did before and showed them my status, letting them read my ability.

"Last time, we were all chatting here in my stream before the monster invasion began. I forgot about my safety and ended up dying shortly after... Ehehe."

"Don't act cute bro; it's disgusting."

"Blergh!"

"*Vomit emoji*"

It's funny how the three of them reacted the same way.

Soon after, more and more viewers came in, and in just a few minutes, there were already 50 viewers online. The three, acting all high and mighty, started to boast about my ability to revive. The latecomers who didn't believe them ended up having to see my status screen before they finally believed me.

"Isn't this too OP? You should invest more in your skill!"

One of the viewers chatted suddenly, attracting my interest. "Too OP? What do you mean?"

After that, he went on and on about technical things, earning a reprimand from other viewers for his long explanation. In summary, he guessed that, using my ability, I could let others have information beforehand regarding monsters.

"That's true... but I'm only reviving. Painful things still hurt, and it's hard for a powerless streamer like me to survive for long." I shrugged my shoulders, trying to depreciate myself.

After that, they asked me about which monsters I had encountered, but I had only seen two.

"I only saw the dragon on live TV and the enormous octopus outside my building..." As I recounted my experience, I suddenly remembered. "Right! I need to stay out of the building before the octopus appears! This building will become a space of death soon enough!"

*TING!*

A new message popped up, making me turn to read it by reflex. "Help the residents of the building...? They saw the octopus too, so they should already know, right?"

A follow-up message from Garuda came, explaining further. After all, time returned 48 hours before the events, so the residents of the building who weren't here during the New Year celebration were clueless about it.

"They'd end up thinking that staying in the building was safe!"

They have no idea that staying here during the monster invasion would ensure their deaths. "But even with that, I also have no idea about a safe place to take them..."

My viewers slowly increased as we continued the discussion until the morning came. I divulged all kinds of information to my viewers, but given that a monster invasion is approaching, why should I care about them knowing where I live?

In the end, a simple plan came to fruition. I would tell everyone in this building that it would be attacked by an octopus monster, then take them to the nearest and largest underground shelter (basically just a basement), the one under the Pine Mall.

After that, I turned to my GoBro and equipped it on top of my bike helmet before walking down the building, helmet held in a one-hand embrace below my pit, and going straight to the counter on the ground floor.

"How may I help you, Sir Hvir?" The receptionist lady asked with a smile as soon as I approached.

"Alright, here goes nothing," I whispered to the microphone attached to my collar before clearing my throat and speaking.

"Good morning, Miss. Actually, I have a warning for everyone in this hotel." I started slow, trying not to frighten her. "I have the ability to revive. Here, you can check... And, from that ability, I know that this building would be attacked by an octopus-like monster, with tentacles longer than this building is tall."

"... Right..."

However, even after hearing my words, the receptionist was completely unconvinced. "Sorry, sir, but if you have any concerns, please call our helpline. I'm sure they would be willing to help you."

"..."

Did I just get treated like a liar? I peeked at my phone, watching the chat get flooded with laughing emojis. I felt embarrassed and wanted to sock these guys who were laughing at me.

"I'm telling the truth! This building will become prey to that giant octopus! You can check with the other personnel in this building who were present on January 1, and they'll surely support my claim!"

It was later that I found out that the entire hotel staff was off on a holiday break, leaving only temporary personnel to manage the necessities. After learning about that, I could only give up.

So much for trying to be a hero; I became the man who cried wolf instead.
