---------+--------------
They never expected Kirito to be so powerful.
Hyuga Rei, the genius Jonin of their clan, was defeated without any suspense and couldn't even escape.
Kirito just used his unique magnetic ninjutsu on the spot, taking Hyuga Rei prisoner.
The strength of that instantanous ninjutsu able to take a jonin Nintai-Taijutsu specialist captive is truly astonishing.
With such formidable strength at the age of 8, it's challenging for them to imagine how powerful Kirito will become in the future.
If they were reluctant to offend Kirito before, now they genuinely fear doing so.
As a genius ninja, and given Kirito's current status, he is destined to be a significant power in Konoha's future decision making.
Perhaps, he even a hae chance at becoming Hokage.
Their Hyuga Clan has always maintained neutrality and indifference to worldly matters. How could they afford to offend someone of such stature and potential ?
"Don't worry, Kirito is someone who knows his limits, and Rei is Hyuga Hana's older brother. For Hana's sake, he won't harm him. With the enchantment set up, we just want to avoid outside interference. Let's wait peacefully."
The Hyuga leader listened to the branch elders' words, pondered for a moment, and spoke up.
"Isn't that so? If Rei reveals anything, it could have a negative impact on our Hyuga clan." The patriarch expressed concern.
"What are you implying? Rei is a loyal child of the Hyuga clan and won't divulge any secrets. I personally educated him." The branch elder retorted, feeling slighted.
"Really? I recall we simply asked him to simply persuade kirito to not continue meeting with Hyuga Hana. We didn't instruct him to threaten and warn immediately upon arrival. Ultimately, it was his own misstep. Moreover, the last word came from our main family, not from you of the branch family. It's best if you stay silent." The main branch clan elder replied, a hint of disdain in his eyes.
Someone who can't distinguishes between different branches dares to talk back; it's a matter of respect. The Audacity.
Can loyalty truly exist among separated groups? He had his doubts.
"You..."
The branch elder felt humiliated and reddened, about to argue further.
However, the patriach intervened, halting the escalating conflict. They spoke coldly, "Enough, now is not the time for arguments. Kazuya, the branch family members protect the clan; don't doubt their loyalty. Rei is an exceptional child; he knows his duties."
The patriarch ended the dispute, but the tension remained palpable, creating an uneasy atmosphere.
Seeing this, he remained stoic.
He was accustomed to the friction between the main and branch families. Usually, he would treat it as theater, but now they were focused on understanding Kirito's stance toward the Hyuga Clan. Despite his youth, the power he displayed today couldn't be ignored.
According to their intelligence, Kirito has recently grown close to the Uchiha clan.
Currently, the Senju Clan and the Uchiha Clan, Konoha's two major families, are connected to this genius. Even the geniuses from these families are closely linked with Kirito. Only the Hyuga Clan lacks such a connection with this rising genius.
In terms of connections, there is one—their clan member is Kirito's junior.
Initially, the Senju Clan made a deal with their Hyuga Clan to allow Kirito to learn the soft fist technique and for one of their members to become Mito's disciple, learning sealing techniques.
Regrettably, that clan member's talent in sealing techniques was mediocre, lacking perseverance. Moreover, Mito was preoccupied with training the new Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. Their member hadn't learned complexes sealing techniques even after a long time.
They stopped trying after not long before Mito death not due to unwillingness, but due to sheer embarrassment.
That member was deeply affected by Kirito and Kushina's sealing talents, losing interest in learning sealing techniques.
Furthermore, there's still a slight connection with Hana father, Kirito Taijutsu instructor.
However, he had been informed not to pass advanced knowledge of the soft first to Kirito. Their relationship with Kirito remained unclear, so it was best to be prudent.
Recalling this, the Hyuga Clan's deal with the Senju Clan seemed somewhat deceitful.
They taught Kirito basic soft fist techniques, but when it came to teaching sealing techniques, Mito treated everyone equally.
However, their clan members couldn't learn.
"The winds of change are blowing once more. How should the Hyuga clan navigate this?" The patriarch sensed a significant political shift in the future. One of the central figures in this shift is Kirito, Konoha new genius.
However, it appears challenging for the Hyuga clan to maneuver smoothly this time. Remaining neutral as before and relying on their superior bloodline with their white eyes might no longer suffice.
Because this Konoha genius seems to lean towards freeing the caged bird.
"The caged bird..."
He thought of the caged bird, a symbol of despair for so many hyuga, and felt a pang of unease in his already cold heart.
On the other side, within the sealing barrier.
"What's the issue? Are you going to keep demanding that I avoid contact with Hyuga Hana without providing a reason? Don't worry, this barrier shields eyes and voices. Those who love to pry won't hear a thing."
Kirito looked at Hyuga Rei, who was silent, and felt a bit exasperated.
"You don't need to know the reason; just know I'm acting for Hana's good. She should grow up happily and safe. As long as you stay away from her, everything will be fine."
Hearing this, Hyuga Rei glanced at the surrounding barriers in surprise but chose to keep clan matters concealed and gave Kirito a plausible explanation.
"Hmph, quite the protective brother, planning Hyuga Hana's future so meticulously. But will she truly follow the path you've laid out? You're her brother; surely you know her better than anyone."
Doing an itachi on my little junior ? Not on my watch.
Kirito's words dripped with sarcasm as he listened to Hyuga Rei.
He could see that Hana Hyuga's brother was a control freak, someone who had resigned themselves completely to fate.
Yet, Kirito sensed a past of resistance in him, unlike Hana Hyuga who seemed to not have given up on defying her destiny even after facing harsh realities.
Kirito saw shadows of Hyuga Rei's past struggles in Hana Hyuga. As her brother, he didn't want her to go through the same painful journey of fighting against fate.
Therefore, he made the unilateral decision to submit to fate on her behalf, for her own good.
"Hana Hyuga is merely naive now; she'll understand my intentions in due time."
Despite Kirito's mocking tone, Hyuga Rei spoke loudly and stubbornly.
He believed he was acting in Hana Hyuga's best interests.
Even if she didn't understand him now and might resent him forever, he couldn't bear to see her fall victim to the Main family's schemes to unlock the caged bird in the future.
Those guys were monster in humain skin. They will never let any bird fly away from them.
"Don't play the hero. Hana Hyuga isn't your puppet; don't force your ideals on her. She's a person with her own spirit, dreams, and life. If she sacrifices herself for freedom one day, it'll be her choice."
Kirito's tone turned icy as he rebuffed Hyuga Rei's stubbornness.
"You're intentionally putting Hana Hyuga in danger, you scoundrel. I won't allow it!" Hyuga Rei shouted hysterically, eyes burning with rage as he glared at Kirito, wishing he could strike him down.
He refused to let Hana Hyuga die in vain pursuing what he deemed a foolish notion of freedom.
Never.
Because everyone's fate is predetermined and unchangeable.
"It's not your decision. Let's see why you've been evasive."
Kirito gazed coldly at Hyuga Rei, who was now powerless and seething, and spoke with a steely resolve.
With a swift motion, Kirito placed his hand on Hyuga Rei's head.
A surge of formidable spiritual power erupted from Kirito, causing Hyuga Rei to faint instantly. Then, Kirito extracted a white soul from Hyuga Rei's body.
Spiritualization Art·Soul Search!
Spiritualization Technique·Soul Search, a ninjutsu Kirito developed to extract information by enhancing the spiritualization technique.
It allowed him to extract souls from bodies, bypassing any ninjutsu hindering memory reading, and delve directly into their memories from the soul's core.
This technique was inspired by Pain's Six Paths body of the Human Realm with the technique for extracting the soul and reading memories. However, Kirito didn't rely on the Reincarnation Eye's power but used the Spiritualization Technique directly.
In essence, the Spiritualization Technique itself possesses memory-reading abilities. The original function, called Soul Eater, crushes souls to absorb memory fragments. On the other hand, Soul Search is gentler, causing only temporary mental depression after reading memories. It also yields faster and more complete memory retrieval.
Kirito held Hyuga Rei's soul in his hand, closed his eyes, and invaded Hyuga Rei's spiritual realm using soul power, quickly scanning his memories like viewing slides.
After a moment, Kirito returned Hyuga Rei's slightly diminished soul to his body. When he looked at Hyuga Rei again, a hint of regret and pity crossed his face.
As expected, Hyuga Rei had resisted fate vigorously, displaying hatred towards the Main family from a young age, often clashing with them and even injuring the main branche peers. He endured numerous tortures from the caged bird due to his defiance. If not for His own father desperate pleas, he might have been executed by the clan using the caged bird.
Despite enduring repeated torment, Hyuga Rei didn't give up entirely. He secretly studied sealing techniques but lacked the same exceptional talent neji had in the future. His attempts to unlock the caged bird alone were futile.
At the age of 12, he risked sneaking into the Hyuga clan's secret vault for information on the caged bird. However, the clan's advanced surveillance thwarted his efforts. He was caught before entering the vault, enduring a month of relentless suffering.
The caged bird's curse targets brain nerves, inflicting unimaginable agony and potential insanity. Hyuga Rei survived due to sheer determination. However, not everyone possessed his resilience. When he teetered on the brink of collapse, his survival instincts overcame his resistance.
This marked the end of his defiance against the caged bird. Fear replaced his resistance, leading him to obey the main family's commands out of dread.
He didn't wish for Hana Hyuga to experience the same ordeal pursuing freedom, hence his extreme actions and cynical worldview, believing fate to be unchangeable.
Having also faced the battlefield, he embraced power as the determinant of fate, viewing submission to the strong as the fate of the weak. Consequently, he believed that Kirito, being weaker, must obey him, not knowing his real power.
Kirito analyzed the memories and reflected on the Hyuga clan's deep-seated issues, feeling a mixture of empathy and sorrow.
He delved into Hyuga Rei's memories, witnessing not only his month-long torment but also the branche familly ongoing research on the caged bird's curse mark. Despite the main family's suppression, the branch's pursuit of freedom through sealing techniques persisted.
This led Kirito to speculate that the caged bird's curse could affect various bloodline boundaries, raising his curiosity and determination to explore further.
The bloodline boundaries were genetic legacies, and if the caged bird's seal could influence them, it posed a challenge and potential solution for bloodline-bound ninjas.
Mastering the caged bird's seal and enhancing it might create a formidable sealing technique, impacting bloodline ninjas profoundly.
This idea intrigued Kirito and fueled his interest in the caged bird's mysteries.
"Interesting..."
