The bus drives through the city to the city hall. Once at city hall about 200 other men and women are there. All in line. The bus stops and the 20 soldiers onboard get out and form their line. Dad looks around.
DAD: "Not a lot of help. Did they seriously need us? What's going to happen a war on meteors?"
RICHIE: "Shh… General is about to explain the situation."
There is a small stage and platform in front of the groups of men and women. An older, heavily decorated soldier, black, muscular, and black sunglasses, comes up to the microphone.
GENERAL: "I would like to start off by thanking each of you personally. I am General Gray. I will be in charge of scout duties. As well as positions and shifts. We have reason to believe a meteor 10 miles from here is the cause for this weird snow fall during this time of the year."
He pans the crowd back and forth. He stops while looking in Dad's direction as if intentionally.
GENERAL: "Some of you have families. We understand some of you are supposed to be off duty. YOU must understand it is snowing like this all around the world. Even on the equator. Whatever this meteor is, it's of something this planet has never seen before. We will all take the buses to the meteors landing - area. Platoons 2,4, and 6 will be on look-out for any other tourists from other countries looking to get their military and space programs next to the meteor, Is that clear?
GROUPS 2, 4, 6: "YES SIR!!!"
GENERAL: "Groups 1, 3, and 5 are to keep watch and to make sure it's nothing more than a cold rock. Is that clear?"
GROUPS1, 3, 5: "YES SIR!!!"
GENERAL: "Everyone! ALL OUT!!"
All the soldiers head back in the same way they came out. The buses file out of the quite city. Before they reach the city line . Dad looks out his window and sees Katsu snuck out of the house to see him off. Dad chuckles and shakes his head.
