Chapter 17 - Training (I)
Once he got there, after following the description of an Outer Court disciple who described the location of the Battle Hall to him, he met an elder seated there with his eyes closed, seeming as if he was in a deep state of cultivation.
Immediately the elder opened his eyes to look at him, Sun Kang bowed and said politely once he straightened himself back, "Elder, this disciple would like to use the special combat spaces in the Battle Hall to train."
"Hmm." The elder who was looking at Sun Kang's face, uttered in shock. But his shocked expression and tone, were well hidden from Sun Kang who wasn't aware of anything.
Actually, at the elder's level of cultivation, and because of the eye-based Battle Art that he practiced, he expected Sun Kang to shiver or tremble once their gazes connected.
But to his utter astonishment, Sun Kang didn't shiver, neither did he tremble, causing the elder to be seriously shocked. And this was because once he opened his eyes to look at anybody lower in cultivation rank to him, they would usually shake or shiver in response to his soul-jolting gaze.
However, Sun Kang didn't!
But what he didn't know was that Sun Kang's soul was more than ten million times powerful than his. The slightest fluctuation of Sun Kang's soul activity will absolutely wipe out his soul, in fact, all the souls of virtually everyone in Prosper City and in faraway neighboring cities.
"You have an authority medallion?" The elder who still tried to conceal the surprise that had surfaced in his heart from leaking to his face, asked with a faked indifferent expression.
"Yes, elder." Sun Kang who didn't know what was going on within the elder's mind, humbly replied to his question.
"Show me. Let me see" The elder commanded.
Sun Kang nodded his head and then gave the elder the authority medallion in his hand for his scrutinization.
"Elder Guo Ling. Hmm." The elder said.
He then said further, stretching his hand out at Sun Kang, "You can have it."
Sun Kang accepted the authority medallion from the elder who then stood to his feet from the stool that he sat on and asked Sun Kang to follow behind him.
Ten minutes later, he showed Sun Kang a door to a room that he could use for his personal combat training. Once he did so, the elder turned around and walked back to where he was previously seated.
But as he walked back, he couldn't help but think deeply, 'Did he just show immunity to the effect of the soul-jarring Eye Art that I practice? Or he is just able to hide his expression far better than others?'
Sun Kang who couldn't tell or identify what was going on within the elder's roiling mind, had already gone into the Special Combat Space that was shown to him.
Immediately he entered, Sun Kang saw a vast stretch of plain land and nodded his head.
However, this place had no sky, but a really high ceiling that was suspended hundreds of feet above the ground and blocked out the unending rays of the sun could be seen.
Also, a really large mountain with its peak covered entirely in bright green grasses could be seen in the far distance. However, the mountain looked unreal, as it seem to have been formed from the power of experts that could control or manipulate the movement of the earth.
Nodding his head in slight impression at the Special Combat Space that he was given, Sun Kang moved to practice only four of the plethoric attacking techniques, and then anyone of the three movement methods for the Common Grade skills of the Severance Sword art.
So, he chose the [Ordinary Subduing Sword of Minor Sword Deities], [Dragon-Chasing Sword], [Thousand Phoenixes Slaying Sword] and [Behemoths and Leviathans Life-Stealing Sword] for the attacking techniques. Then he selected the [Profound Earth Traversing Step] for movement skill.
As an art that had techniques from the Low tier to the Cosmic Deity tier for different cultivation classes, they were all actually designed by the Nine Firmaments Sword Sovereign with the intention of making his Legacy Inheritor wield surprise cards in battles, with the so-called surprise cards being the Cosmic Deity-level techniques that could erupt with power belonging fully to the next cultivation stage.
...
In Minor Planets that number in the millions in this Cultivation Universe, including the one Sun Kang was currently in, the highest rank of cultivation was the Celestial Law Master, while the others that ranked below it included the following;
Heavenly Law Saint,
Sky Law Saint,
Earthly Law Saint,
Mortal Ascendance Law Warrior,
Ascending Law Warrior and
Common Law Warrior.
To go from the Common Law Warrior stage to the Ascending Law Warrior stage, a cultivator would have to reach the twelveth layer of the Common Law Warrior stage before they can finally break through into the Ascending Law Warrior stage.
So, for the Cosmic Deity-level technique to erupt with power that belonged to the Ascending Law Warrior stage, regardless of whatever layer the Common Law Warrior stage-technique user will be, showed how powerful and tyrannical it was.
Sun Kang who could easily think all these, pondered for a moment before saying, "I guess I will master the high-level technique first, before ascending tier by tier to the Cosmic Deity-level."
"And just like master intended, the Cosmic Deity-level technique will be my surprise cards in battles. I will leave my enemies seriously shocked before their complete obliterations will take place." Sun Kang said with the understanding and readiness that he will be drained fully dry of his Origin Energy once he tried to use such an astoundingly powerful move in any battle that he would find himself in.
"No wonder the cultivation method for this art is also extremely powerful. If I continue to cultivate more fervently, I should enter the Ascending Law Warrior stage in no time."
Speaking up to here with both awe and greatness in his heart, Sun Kang immediately got to work.
Following the description for the first attacking technique that he chose, which was the [Ordinary Subduing Sword of Minor Sword Deities], Sun Kang closed his eyes and got ready to use the technique to unleash an attack.
