The Imperial Edict was to be announced to Mo Yan and the five beasts. The five beasts could not kneel to receive the edict and were unwilling to humbly prostrate themselves on the ground, bowing to the supreme ruler of mankind. So they stood quietly by the incense table, as observers, paying close attention to everyone's every word and deed.
Mo Yan led her family to kneel in front of the incense table, loudly exclaiming, "Long live the Emperor, long live, long live!"
