The Wu family's house was built very spacious. At that time, Wu's had spent three taels of silver to buy three acres of land for the foundation. One acre of land was used to build the house, while the remaining two acres were entirely enclosed with green bricks, part of which was used as a vegetable garden, and part for raising poultry and livestock. The rest followed Mo Yan's suggestion, planning to plant some rare fruit trees in the spring of the following year, and the fruit seedlings naturally were also provided by Mo Yan.
To build the house as quickly as possible, Wu's hired quite a few villagers to help. Combined with the clear and dry autumn weather, despite the house being quite large, it took only a month to complete.
The Wu family of five, after buying some simple furniture, quickly moved out of the Mo Family and into their new home.
