The water from the rap rushed out into the bathtub. Cyrus sighed as he strolled and switched it off. Overall, he was in black boxer shorts and a black towel around his wet neck.
Cyrus stared at his body in the mirror. His once slender body had started to become muscular. He stared into his blue eyes and flashed back to how he slit the angel's throat.
The darkness he felt in his head was like he originated darkness. "Demon King Barnas, a demon king."
Cyrus toweled his dark hair and walked out of the bathroom with a stretch while flexing his newfound muscles.
Unknown to him, Aisha was in his parlor. She stood beside the door and observed the well-arranged parlor.
Cyrus unlocked the room door, now adorned in black clothing. As he veered around, he was surprised to see it was Aisha, almost as if he was expecting someone but not Aisha.
"Huh, hi," muttered Aisha's shaking voice.
Cyrus stared at her, giving her the face of "What are you doing here?"
"Are you… Are you okay?" asked Aisha. She was just thinking of words to say so she could keep Cyrus around.
However, Cy gave her a nod, and the door unlocked to reveal Alpha with a smiling face while yelling, "Bossie," she yelled and jumped on him from that far distance.
Alpha did not see Aisha there until she was done hugging. Perplexed, Alpha glanced at her and back at Cyrus. She whispered, "Bossie, who's she?"
Our protagonist stared at Aisha with a cold look and gave a reply that made poor Aisha feel heartbroken. "She's an old friend," said Cyrus, walking away with Alpha.
'A-rank skill user, she must be strong,' thought Alpha.
Aisha couldn't do anything. She just stood there heartbroken as Cyrus and Alpha walked out towards the demon castle red carpet corridor.
Meanwhile...
'Aisha, she left when I needed her the most. All she did was pity me.'
Cyrus's thoughts were disrupted when he heard a loud bang happening beside him. He had no idea they had walked to the sparring room.
Alpha, on the other hand, was elevated because she couldn't wait to spar with Cyrus. At this point, Cyrus was alone in the corridor; Alpha was already inside the empty sparring room with a black wide square for the sparring.
He could see her through the transparent glass. "She's even more energetic than I thought she would be," said Cyrus, making his way towards the room, precisely the black box.
Minutes passed, and Cyrus was now facing Alpha, who was wielding a blade.
In this room, if what Alpha had said was correct, they could both kill themselves and go all out, but even at that, Cyrus wasn't planning on hurting his Alpha.
"Bossie, are you ready?" asked Alpha, pointing the tip of her blade at Cyrus.
"Are you sure you don't need me to use my bare hands?"
Alpha sneered, and without holding back, boom… She dashed at Cyrus at full Nelson. "Guess she's confident," muttered Cy as two daggers materialized within his grip.
Bam'
They both connected their weapons, causing the black square to crack. Alpha retracted her blade almost instantly and slashed, aiming for Cyrus' head.
Bam'
Our MC blocked the attack with his dagger, and a spark was formed. Alpha was quick again to slash Cyrus's abdomen and then back into his throat.
Cyrus blocked both attacks but with great difficulty. He was pushed back and, instantly gaining his footing, Alpha disappeared and reappeared behind Cyrus with a kick at Cyrus's neck.
Kweuk'
Cyrus grunted and stumbled to the right. Now he was one hundred percent sure this girl wasn't holding back one bit.
"Bossie, fight me," yelled Alpha, dashing at Cyrus with a speed that destroyed the black square box.
Cy had gotten enough; he zoomed at her and slashed his dagger. Kaboom, both weapons connected as their legs dug into the black square, and it cracked with the transparent glass shattering to pieces.
"Not all S-rank skill users will be this friendly in battle," said Alpha.
Hearing that, Cy's eyes widened, and he was unable to fathom when Alpha took him off his feet and jumped on his body with her blade at his throat.
"You're an S-rank skill user?" asked Cyrus, with Alpha now on top of him and the destroyed ground.
Alpha drew her lips closer to Cy's, stared at him for some seconds, and replied with a childish tone. "Nope, I'm awakened, Bossie."
Now Cyrus was feeling something tingling between his legs. Was it Alpha's bouncy butt? Whatever that thing was, made him forget asking what an awakening was.
In a flash, the room reconstructed itself with the ground returning to normal and the transparent glass was back again.
Alpha stood up from Cyrus's body and helped Cyrus up. "Well, no matter how strong you are, I won't hurt you."
"Hurt me? Bossie, you should try."
Cyrus raised an eyebrow. Although he wasn't going all out just now, but hell, the girl thinks she's stronger, is she?
"Bossie needed a trainer, and I volunteered for Bossie," said Alpha jovially, thinking Cyrus was paying attention to her stuff moving left and right.
The two of them began leaving the sparring room with a short discussion.
However, the short discussion they had was disrupted by the red-black portal that materialized in front of them.
And with the arrival of the red dungeon, the blue holographic screen materialized for Cyrus and Alpha to see.
- [Instant Quest: Demon King Barnas has ordered his demon general (Baras) to march towards the demon castle}
- [Your quest is to stop the demon general from reaching the demon castle}
- [Quest: Kill the Baras, the ice demon (not optional).
- [Sub Quest: Kill the Angels if you come across any}
- [Main Quest: Find Demon King Barnas}
For now, Cyrus will keep on killing angels and finding Demon King Barnas' dungeon, unlike Flash, Aisha, and Nerd who were given quests like going to war with high-rank angels.
Or a quest to kill a demon king, retrieve an item, or sometimes become a boss of their dungeon... Those quests were for high-ranking skill users, and the system doesn't see Cyrus as one who could pass those quests or even destroy the world.
"Demon general, so I'm to stop him from reaching the demon castle, cool."
"Uh? Bossie, red dungeons are difficult compared to blue dungeons... Every red dungeon has a rule to follow," said Alpha.
Cyrus sighed, and they both walked through the red portal, and as normal, it disappeared along with them.
Unlike the former dungeon Cyrus had entered, this one was different, and it has the hell ring to it. Everything and every building were in flames; the clouds were also crimson.
When Cyrus took a step, the red screen appeared, and his eyes widened when he saw the notification.
- [Warning: You Have Entered A Red Dungeon}
- [Warning: Instant Rebirth Skill cannot be used in this particular dungeon because your current stat is weaker than this dungeon}
Cyrus was now on his own. If he died, it was game over, and Alpha didn't know that because she couldn't see the red holographic screen notification.
