Chapter 6 - Infinite Starlight: Nova Pendragon's Journey to Ascend Season 3

Season 3, Chapter 1

Pluto soared through the sky, heading toward Solis with dark intent. His mind was set on his goal, but as he approached the kingdom, his path was suddenly blocked by an imposing figure. A mighty roar echoed through the mountains, and before Pluto could react, a powerful force materialized in front of him—a colossal ice dragon. This dragon, the Lord of Ice, was no ordinary creature. Sub-Zero, son of the Dragon King, stood firm, his presence commanding attention.

With a flash of his Eye of God, Pluto instantly assessed the dragon's strength. The creature's stats were SR-SSR—impressive for a mortal being. Despite Pluto's godly might, he knew this would not be a simple confrontation. The ice dragon bared its fangs and spoke, his voice laden with authority.

"Nova Pendragon," Sub-Zero's voice rumbled, "As per the treaty with my father, you are not permitted in the lands of the Dragon Lords. Leave now, or I will make you regret it."

Pluto's expression twisted into a cold smile. "I am not Nova any longer," he replied, his voice laced with menace. "That human's soul will soon be sent to the afterlife. Move aside, child, or I will send you there first."

Sub-Zero's eyes narrowed, a wave of anger washing over him. "I take this as a declaration of war. Die, godslayer!" With a mighty inhale, the dragon unleashed a torrent of freezing ice breath directly at Pluto.

Pluto responded in an instant, raising an Arcane Shield to block the blast. The icy barrage struck the shield with immense force, but Pluto stood unfazed. "Too bad I don't have the time for this," he muttered, a dark aura swirling around him.

As the dragon lord stepped forward, a force of ice dragons appeared from the surrounding mountains, surrounding Pluto in a formidable army. The air grew colder as the beasts prepared to strike. Pluto's eyes burned with divine fury.

"Death of All Antilife," Pluto declared, summoning a swirling orb of shadow and darkness. The orb expanded rapidly, consuming all life within a 500-meter radius. Souls were drawn into it, their screams of despair echoing as they were absorbed into the afterlife.

The dragon army collapsed, their spirits ripped from their bodies. The battlefield fell silent for a moment, but Pluto was not finished. As he turned to leave, Sub-Zero, despite being partially consumed by Pluto's attack, struggled to rise once more.

The ice dragon lord staggered to his feet, rage evident in his eyes. With a final, desperate roar, he unleashed another blast of ice breath at Pluto. This time, Pluto didn't bother to defend with a shield. He stood still, his eyes cold and unfeeling.

"My authority has grown too weak since 10,000 years ago," Pluto murmured. "This will be the last time I tolerate such insolence."

With an almost imperceptible movement, Pluto used Demon Fist Arts: Darkness Embrace, an art he had learned over the years. It was a deadly move used by Reginald during his dark transformation, and Pluto, having witnessed its power firsthand when Reginald annihilated his followers, had mastered it.

Pluto's fist, imbued with dark energy, struck Sub-Zero with devastating force. The ice dragon lord's body crumpled under the blow, his life force ripped away by Pluto's touch. The dragon let out a final, defeated cry before his body turned to dust.

The ground trembled as Sub-Zero's reign ended. Pluto wiped his hands clean, his expression unchanging. He had just obliterated one of the strongest beings in the mortal world, but it was only a small step toward his true goal.

"Onward," Pluto muttered, as he began flying toward Solis once more. His power, his control over life and death, had been proven once again. The world was in his grasp, and there was no stopping him now.

Season 3, Chapter 2

In the hidden realm of the Dragon Lords, a roar of anguish echoed through the skies. The Dragon King, a transcendental being tasked with safeguarding the world's balance, felt the life force of one of his sons extinguish. Sub-Zero, the Ice Dragon Lord, had fallen.

The Dragon King's massive form towered over the assembly chamber of the dragons. His scales shimmered with celestial light as his eyes glowed with grief and fury. With a sweep of his claw, he summoned his remaining sons—the Dragon Lords—each representing a force of nature and guardians of the balance:

Ignis, Lord of Fire, whose flames could incinerate mountains.Zephyr, Lord of the Sky, swift and graceful, a master of aerial combat.Tempest, Lord of Thunder, whose roar was the harbinger of storms.Terra, Lord of the Mountain, steadfast and unyielding.Abyssus, Lord of the Sea, whose wisdom and power flowed as deep as the oceans.Astraeus, Lord of the Stars, the eldest and mightiest, his strength rivaling even the most legendary of human champions.

As the brothers gathered, the Dragon King spoke, his voice reverberating like an earthquake. "Sub-Zero has fallen, slain by the God of Death, Pluto, who possesses the body of Nova Pendragon. This is a grave violation of the treaty between the dragons and mortals. The balance of the world teeters on the brink."

The assembled Dragon Lords roared in fury, their combined power shaking the mountain.

Astraeus stepped forward, his celestial glow filling the chamber. "Father, what must we do? The treaty binds us to inaction unless the natural order is broken. Yet this act—this atrocity—demands justice."

The Dragon King nodded solemnly. "The treaty is not merely words. It was forged to protect this world. Yet when two of the top 11 mortals—Nova Pendragon and Reginald Pendragon—disrupt the balance, we cannot stand idle. Prepare yourselves, for we must act."

Cut to the Ethereal Council

Far from the mortal realm, the Ethereal Council, a gathering of the top 11 strongest humans, convened in astral form. Cloaked in anonymity, each member's identity remained hidden, their forms appearing as glowing silhouettes.

Only the Dragon King, due to his divine insight, knew the identities of the Pendragons among them: Nova, now possessed by Pluto, and Reginald, slain by Nova in a desperate act to preserve the balance.

The meeting began with a statement from the Dragon King. His immense form loomed over the council, his voice carrying both sorrow and rage.

"Sub-Zero, my son, has been slain by Pluto, the God of Death, who inhabits the body of Nova Pendragon. This act is a grave violation of the treaty that governs the balance of power. I call upon this council to address this breach."

The council stirred uneasily. Though none revealed their true forms, the tension was palpable. One of their own, a saint, had ascended to the top 11, now reduced to 10 after Reginald's death.

A council member, whose identity was shrouded, spoke. "Nova Pendragon was not just one of us but also a saint? And now his body is a vessel for Pluto? How could this happen without us knowing?"

The Dragon King growled. "You know the oaths you swore, forged in the aftermath of the Holy Demonic War:

One shall not intervene in another's affairs unless the code is broken. One shall not reveal their identity to others. One shall not disclose the existence of ranks beyond SSS.One shall not use SSR-level power to interfere with the world. All shall band together to put down any who break this oath."

His gaze swept the council. "Pluto's actions break the code. He has intervened in mortal affairs and unleashed SSR-level power to claim Sub-Zero's life. I summon you to honor the oath and stand against this threat. The balance must be restored."

The council fell into silence, the weight of the Dragon King's words heavy upon them. They had never revealed their identities to one another, their anonymity serving as a safeguard for their immense power. But now, the fate of the world was at stake.

Another council member, their voice sharp and commanding, spoke. "Pluto is a god, and his power grows with each soul he claims. The top 11 exist to ensure balance, yet this foe threatens to destroy everything. We must act—but how can we defeat a god?"

Astraeus, present in both dragon and astral form, replied. "The dragons will not stand idle. My brothers and I will take the field. But even our strength may not be enough. Humanity's strongest must rise as well. The oath binds us together. Do not forget it."

The Dragon King's voice rumbled again. "Prepare yourselves. The time to stand united is upon us. Nova Pendragon's possession by Pluto is not just a tragedy but a crisis. Together, we will restore what has been broken."

The council ended in tension and silence, each member returning to their realms to prepare. The dragons began to rally their forces, while the strongest humans contemplated their roles in the coming battle.

As the pieces moved into place, the world braced for a war unlike any it had seen in thousands of years. Would the combined might of dragons and humanity be enough to stand against the God of Death? Or would the balance of the world crumble beneath Pluto's wrath?

Season 3, Chapter 3

Pluto hovered above the desolate expanse of the dragon graveyard he had created. His dark aura rippled through the air, heavy with death energy. Below, the once-proud bodies of ice dragons lay scattered, their souls consumed by his Anti-Life magic.

As he soared over the mountain of corpses, a figure appeared in the sky before him, illuminated by a fiery glow. It was a familiar face, one tied to Nova Pendragon's past—the Saintess of Mars, Valeria Ignis, wielder of the Spear of War and the divine avatar of the God of Battle, Mars.

"Nova," Valeria called, her tone sharp yet tinged with sorrow. "That body doesn't suit you. Why so grim and dark? I much preferred the brighter version of you—the one who actually smiled." Her fiery spear twirled in her hand as she continued. "Anyway, let's talk about how your sword is spewing death energy in the middle of Solis Kingdom. You're drawing far too much attention."

Pluto's eyes narrowed. He gave no reply, merely extending his hand. Dark energy coalesced into a massive, shadowy weapon as he cast Heavenly Dragon Festival, summoning spectral dragons to attack.

Valeria anticipated the move, darting through the air with the speed of a seasoned warrior. Flames erupted around her as she dodged the dragons, her fiery aura cutting through the oppressive darkness. "I knew it," she muttered with a smirk. "It always comes to violence with you, doesn't it?"

She leaped into the air, closing the distance between herself and Pluto. Her spear blazed like a comet as she struck down toward him. But Pluto didn't flinch. Raising his bare arm, he blocked the attack effortlessly. A pulse of death energy surged from him, pushing her back toward the ground.

Valeria landed gracefully, gritting her teeth. "This isn't going to be easy," she muttered, summoning her divine power. Her flames intensified as she activated her Saint Mode, amplifying her strength and speed to SSR rank. Her fiery wings flared as she launched herself into the air once more, her spear aimed for Pluto's chest.

Just as she was about to strike, a barrier of earth erupted between them. The ground beneath her feet shifted, softening her landing. A dwarven figure stepped forward, holding a massive hammer adorned with intricate runes. It was the Saint of Gaia, Thorin Stoneheart, avatar of the Goddess of Life.

"Enough, Valeria," Thorin growled, his deep voice resonating like the rumble of an earthquake. "This isn't a fight you can win alone."

Pluto's gaze flickered with recognition. "So, the Goddess of Life sends her pawn," he said coldly, his voice devoid of emotion. "It has been 10,000 years since our last meeting."

Thorin's hammer glowed with divine energy as he activated the miracle All Life is Equal in Gaia's Embrace, countering the suffocating aura of Pluto's death magic. "And it seems little has changed, Pluto. You still seek to extinguish what you do not understand."

As the two saints squared off against Pluto, more figures began to appear, their divine auras lighting up the sky like celestial beacons. The Saints were gathering.

Saint of Mercury, Elric Swiftwind, the fastest mortal on the continent, rivaled only by Nova in speed.Saintess of Venus, Lysandra Heartveil, radiant and beautiful, embodying love and harmony.Saint of Earth, Garruk Stoneforge, a towering giant of a man with unmatched strength.Saintess of Mars, Valeria Ignis, her flames roaring higher as she prepared for the battle ahead.Saint of Jupiter, Cassius Stormbringer, whose thunderous presence shook the heavens.Saintess of Neptune, Seraphina Tidesong, a mermaid princess of Atlantis, her song calling forth the power of the seas.

Together, they stood against Pluto, the God of Death, whose power had twisted Nova Pendragon's body into a vessel of destruction.

A Clash of Gods and Mortals

For the first time in 10,000 years, the Saints of Life and Death faced each other through their human vessels. The divine energies of Gaia and Pluto collided in an explosion of power that shook the very fabric of reality.

Pluto looked at the gathering of saints with a mix of disdain and curiosity. "You gather here, yet you know it's futile. Do you think the combined strength of a few mortals can stop me?"

Valeria stepped forward, her spear blazing. "This isn't just about stopping you. It's about saving Nova. If there's even a fragment of him left in that body, we won't give up!"

Pluto's expression remained cold, but for a brief moment, a flicker of hesitation crossed his eyes. Was there truly anything left of Nova within him?

The battle began, the Saints charging forward as a united front. Each brought their unique powers to bear, their divine blessings combining to challenge the God of Death. The skies lit up with the clash of fire, lightning, water, and earth against the overwhelming darkness of Pluto's death magic.

But even as they fought, Pluto's power remained immense, a testament to the terrifying strength of a god inhabiting the body of one of humanity's strongest. The question loomed over the battlefield: could the Saints triumph, or would Pluto's darkness consume them all?

Season 3, Chapter 4

The battlefield raged as the Saints clashed against Pluto, the God of Death. Each saint unleashed their divine blessings, their coordinated assault a testament to their decade of training and divine purpose.

Valeria Ignis, the Saintess of Mars, took the lead. Her spear, Crimson Dawn, burned with flames fed by the blood of ancient battles. She channeled Mars' divine power to buff her allies, their strength surging with every strike. Her spear became a whirlwind of fiery death, yet even her might barely scratched Pluto's defenses.

Lysandra Heartveil, the Saintess of Venus, followed closely behind. Her golden gauntlets shimmered as she delivered precise blows, deflecting Pluto's attacks and keeping her allies calm amidst the chaos. Her voice, soothing yet firm, steadied the resolve of the group. But when her gauntlets met Pluto's dark energy, the metal cracked and disintegrated as if rejecting her very presence.

Garruk Stoneforge, the Saint of Earth, bent the battlefield to his will. The ground trembled as he raised stone walls to trap Pluto, binding him in earthen chains. His divine miracle, Gaia's Embrace, healed his comrades and warded off the encroaching death energy. But Pluto shattered the bindings with a single wave of his hand, his death magic reducing the earth to ash.

Cassius Stormbringer, the Saint of Jupiter, summoned bolts of lightning that struck with blinding intensity. Each strike was a calculated blow meant to exploit Pluto's openings, yet the lightning danced harmlessly across Pluto's shield of darkness.

Seraphina Tidesong, the Saintess of Neptune, called upon water spirits to assault Pluto with torrents of ice shards and waves, attempting to drown him in divine power. But her trident's ice melted upon contact with his aura, leaving her panting and vulnerable.

Pluto, unmoved by their efforts, unleashed a devastating wave of death energy that sent the Saints reeling. The ground beneath them cracked, and their bodies ached as the oppressive aura weighed them down. One by one, the Saints collapsed to their knees, their divine powers drained by the unrelenting assault.

Valeria gritted her teeth, raising her spear despite her trembling arms. "We… can't let him win," she growled, her voice a mixture of desperation and defiance. Pluto loomed over them, his dark energy forming a massive scythe.

"This is the end," Pluto declared, his voice echoing like the toll of a funeral bell. He swung the scythe downward, aiming for the final blow.

Before it could land, a gust of wind erupted, forming a barrier that deflected the scythe. A figure descended from the heavens, riding on the back of a colossal bird with feathers of pure silver. It was the Saintess of Uranus, Zephyra Skydancer, wielding her celestial bow. "Not yet," she declared, her voice carrying a divine authority.

Behind her, the battlefield lit up as reinforcements arrived.

The Dragon Lord of the sky, a towering figure wreathed in power, roared as he landed with the Saintess on his back. Alongside him were the strongest mortals of the continent, their presence shifting the tides of fate:

Lyra Starwind, the master blacksmith, wielding weapons forged with divine precision.Ragnar Flameheart, the fiery warrior whose wrath burned hotter than any flame.Draven Nightshade, the Assassin King, cloaked in shadows and wielding the daggers of silent death.Aria Mooncaster, the Sorceress of the Moon, her magical aura rivaling the heavens.Gromm Rockheart, the Champion of Nature, his axe glowing with the blessing of a minor god.Seraphina Lightweaver, the Knight of Light, her armor reflecting the hopes of humanity.Kale Firestorm, the Pyromancer from Hell, his infernal magic blazing in defiance of Pluto's darkness.Astrid Moonflame, the Archer of the North, her arrows never missing their mark.Aetherion Veyra, the Martial King, the pinnacle of mortal strength and the uncorruptible hermit, standing as the second-strongest among them.

Pluto gazed upon the gathering of mortals and laughed, his voice reverberating through the battlefield. "Magnificent! All of the strongest mortals in one place. I no longer need to hunt you down—you shall all die here and now!"

Lyra stepped forward, her voice trembling yet resolute. "Nova," she called, her words cutting through Pluto's laughter. "You have to wake up. You can't let this happen. You can't leave Fredrick behind!"

Pluto twitched at her words, his scythe faltering for a moment. "Huh… That human still lingers within me? How pathetic." His voice darkened. "But it won't be enough."

In Nova's Mansion

Far from the battlefield, Fredrick stirred. His body glowed with a newfound strength as he rose from his bed. His once-wounded frame now pulsed with energy that defied explanation.

Fredrick Fenrir, the Beast King, was born.

Chapter 5: The Battle of Souls and Skies

The wind howled through the broken landscape as Pluto stood at the center of the battlefield, his presence chilling and domineering. The gathering of heroes, dragons, and allies stood prepared, but Pluto, ever the orchestrator of death, was ready to unveil his most terrifying weapon.

With a cold smirk, Pluto raised his hand, and the air seemed to grow heavy, oppressive, and cold. The ground beneath them began to crack and twist, reshaping itself into a grotesque and unnatural form.

"Now, mortals, you shall understand the true meaning of death," Pluto declared, his voice carrying the weight of inevitability. He began to chant in a language older than time itself, one that reverberated through the very air. Slowly, the land around him seemed to distort, folding into a sickening blackness, as though the world itself was being sucked into a void.

Then, with a terrifying finality, Pluto released his Territory Release: Land of the Dead.

The world around them seemed to fracture as a dark, ethereal fog began to seep from the cracks in the ground, spreading across the battlefield. The sky above turned black, clouds swirling in unnatural patterns. A cold wind swept across the land, the very air itself thick with death's embrace. The territory itself was Pluto's domain—a place that existed beyond the natural laws of life and death, where the very essence of mortality was twisted to Pluto's will.

As Pluto completed the incantation, the ground beneath the heroes and dragons seemed to give way, dropping them into an inescapable abyss of death and despair. The very laws of space and time warped, and the sense of reality grew distorted. Within this territory, Pluto had absolute control, manipulating everything within his domain. It was not just a physical space—it was a metaphysical prison for the living, where time seemed to slow and the grip of death was ever-present.

Pluto's ability to control death was unparalleled within this territory. Souls of the deceased, bound by his will, began to rise from the ground—ghostly, skeletal figures with hollow eyes, the ghosts of ice dragons long dead, now shackled to Pluto's power. Among them was the soul of Sub-Zero, the Dragon Lord of Ice, bound to Pluto's will as a mindless servant.

"Rise," Pluto intoned, his voice resonating throughout the land, "and serve me once more."

The undead ice dragons, skeletal and frozen, lumbered to life, their massive forms towering over the battlefield. Their icy breath chilled the very air as they moved in formation, ready to obey their master's command.

Zephyr, the Dragon Lord of the Sky, was the first to react. His wings unfurled with a tremendous gust of wind, and he released a mighty howl. "I won't let you have them, Pluto!" Zephyr shouted as his winds coiled around him like a protective shield, his breath forming into a swirling windstorm. He aimed it directly at Pluto, his powerful storm breath howling through the darkness, aiming to strike the god of death.

But Pluto was ready. With a flick of his hand, he summoned a black shield made of pure death energy. The windstorm hit it with the force of a hurricane but was absorbed, dissipating into nothingness as the shield shimmered with the power of death itself.

"Such futile resistance," Pluto sneered. "You cannot fight what is inevitable."

The undead ice dragons closed in, their icy claws outstretched as they moved to overwhelm the defenders. Each one was a twisted reflection of their former selves—dragons that once ruled the skies, now reduced to nothing more than tools of death.

Zephyr was momentarily overwhelmed by the sheer power of the undead, but he managed to break free of the assault. "Brother, you must not let the darkness consume you!" Zephyr called out to Sub-Zero, who, under Pluto's influence, was still trapped in the throes of death's corruption.

Sub-Zero's eyes flickered with recognition, but the darkness clouded his thoughts. He growled, his massive jaws opening wide to release a freezing blast aimed directly at Zephyr. The ice breath hit its target, freezing Zephyr's mouth shut.

But Zephyr, fueled by his brotherly love, fought back with all his might. With a great roar, he broke free from Sub-Zero's grip, sending him flying into the distance. The two dragons collided with the force of meteors, and the very sky seemed to tremble from the impact.

Ragnar Stormforge, seeing the battle unfolding before him, gripped his halberd tightly. His muscles tensed as he pushed through the advancing undead dragons. He swung his halberd in wide arcs, cleaving through their icy forms with ease. "These creatures were once mighty beings," Ragnar growled as he plunged his weapon into another dragon's chest. "No mercy for the undead!"

As the battle raged on, Atherion Veyra, the martial king, surveyed the situation. Pluto's Land of the Dead was proving to be an insurmountable obstacle. The undead were endless, rising from the ground again and again. Even his most powerful attacks couldn't keep them down for long. The undead dragons' bodies would crumble only to rise again—this was the nature of Pluto's domain.

Atherion gritted his teeth. "This is madness. But we can't let Pluto's territory overwhelm us."

Then, in a moment of clarity, Atherion realized the key to victory. "If we can break his concentration…"

With a swift motion, Atherion tapped into his own Territory Release: Land of the Endlessly Free Skies. As he activated it, a smaller but equally powerful territory manifested around him. This territory counteracted Pluto's Land of the Dead, allowing the living to rise above Pluto's overwhelming influence. The sky itself seemed to shift as the oppressive weight of death was pushed back.

Atherion's energy flared as the boundaries of his territory expanded, pushing Pluto's influence away. "Within my domain, the dead cannot exist," Atherion announced, his voice carrying authority. "Here, you are powerless."

Pluto's eyes widened with disbelief. "Impossible… A human… using Territory Release? This should not be possible!" His grip on the undead faltered as Atherion's power intensified, and the undead began to crumble to dust in his presence.

Zephyr, witnessing Atherion's power, turned to face him. "You've freed me, Atherion," Zephyr said, his voice filled with gratitude. "But Sub-Zero still remains lost."

Atherion nodded grimly. "I'll finish this."

With a mighty roar, Zephyr called to his brother once more. "Rest now, brother," he whispered as his windstorm breath collided with Sub-Zero's undead form, shattering the ice that bound him. Sub-Zero let out one final scream before crumbling into dust, his soul freed by Atherion's territory.

Zephyr's heart was heavy as he looked at the remains of his brother. "Thank you," he whispered. "You gave him peace."

Atherion, his chest heaving with the strain of the battle, gave a solemn nod. "It was the least I could do. No one deserves to remain trapped in the Land of the Dead."

But Pluto was far from finished. "You think you've won, but your efforts are meaningless!" Pluto roared, his eyes filled with rage. "The dead are endless. And I will see you all fall!"

As the battle raged on, a new presence filled the air. The wind picked up once more, but this time it wasn't just a storm—it was the arrival of a new ally.

With a roar, Zephyr, the Dragon Lord of the Sky, landed in front of the gathered heroes. "You may have freed Sub-Zero, but Pluto is not finished. We must stand united."

The battle had only just begun, and the fate of the world hung in the balance. But for now, one thing was clear—the power of the mortals had risen, and Pluto would soon learn that even death had limits.
