The train closes its doors, and the vehicle begins to move along the tracks towards Kyoto. Shin grabs his bag and takes out a bag of salty biscuits to snack on and ease his worries about the journey, while he grabs his cell phone and opens a game to distract himself as much as possible.
"This biscuit is delicious, want some, Mooni?" Shin asks Mooni, but she doesn't respond, knowing she's not physically there with him.
Shin continues to eat alone, hoping that Mooni will contact him soon to chat with her for a bit.
While waiting for her, he decides to play a bit on his phone to distract himself. After a few minutes, he loses a match in his online game, which occasionally annoys him.
"That's why I hate these bad kids, they don't know how to appreciate collecting gems, man! They just focus on killing." Shin says, frustrated with the gaming sessions that he spent time on.
Some passengers around him stare at him, not understanding what's going on, and he feels embarrassed by it all.
"Sorry for yelling, I'll keep quiet..." Shin says, giving a few small laughs, and then falls silent, looking out the window.
Shin begins to observe the landscape outside the window, seeing everything move with such agility... and he realizes how nice it is to ride on a traditional train where you can observe the scenery without having a crazy window close in your face.
In this case, he refers to the advanced subway, where they quickly close the windows to prevent the glass from breaking due to the tremendous speed.
Then a feeling of nostalgia hits Shin, knowing how reassuring it is to see a landscape with some pastures, many leaves, and trees in the background, and farms with their herds.
As time passes, he decides to pick up his cell phone and looks at it, thinking about what he could do at that moment that would be truly productive.
Shin then remembers that it's been a long time since he talked to his father, even though he knew his father was a complicated person to reach due to his difficult job... it wouldn't hurt to try.
Without any hesitation, Shin dials his father's number and calls him, hoping he'll answer his call long after the last time they spoke.
"TRRRRR... TRRRRR... TRRRRR... TRRRRR.... TRRRRR.... TRRRRR" The cellphone rings, but after waiting for a long time... the call is ended.
Shin is indignant about it, as he was hoping his father would call him back at some point... but he didn't return the call at all.
What further saddens little Nanoa's mind is that he knows the tragic fate of his father... and he doesn't know if he could prevent such an event.
With all certainty in the world, he would try everything to stay in touch with his father, knowing the torment of finding out through the Pentagon that his father would meet a tragic end.
So, as an only child, he couldn't leave him behind for any reason.
Instead of irritating him with many unnecessary calls... he decides to send messages to him saying that he misses his dear old man.
"I wish you would come home soon and hug me... I miss you." Shin says softly as he guides himself while writing the messages, talking to himself.
The more messages were sent, memories of him with his father when Shin was only 16 years old emerged, where on their outings... they enjoyed going to Brazil and arriving at the Maracanã to faithfully cheer for their favorite team.
This was only for important games, not every game they attended in person, but it strengthened his relationship with his father, who supported him so much.
They were great moments when he enjoyed both with his family and with himself in gaming and serious studies.
After all the commotion of the Japanese government calling his parents to be stationed in their confidential jobs... they haven't returned home for a few months.
My mother, of course, went with my father to be part of this military project, but in a specialized laboratory for internal analyses of universal beings.
He was having to stay for an indefinite time in that laboratory, as he had previously seen in the Pentagon.
Although the Pentagon didn't show all the details of what his mother was doing and what happened during that invasion of the boss who works in the same sector as her.
Of course, the Pentagon didn't give too many details, as it was already awakening from sleep, and I was in a dream... and not in a place where I consciously sought to go.
But at least that cheered him up a bit... it further proved that the theories were correct when the Pentagon showed that there are many other beings besides the Vinxurians.
The books said it was a myth to search for more than the Vinxurians here on Earth... and listed the names of those who were rare to find on Earth: Rivorians (Rivors), Axorians (Azons), Ederians (Eders), Nevoxians (Nevoxs), and the main being familiar with everything and everyone... the Vinxurians (Vinxs).
For Shin, it was exciting to know that one day he could study them more calmly... and simultaneously fight against them, because he knows that's his purpose, to uncover the mysteries of the government, the beings that inhabit both Earth and the universe, and the secrets of the heroes.
