After further examination, we've determined that Ms. Smith has Preeclampsia." Dr. Albert said his tone solemn.
Sebastian's face filled with shock. "What's Preeclampsia?" Sebastian asked trying to get the full details.
Preeclampsia can be a very serious condition for pregnant women and their babies. If left untreated, it can lead to life-threatening complications, such as seizures, organ damage, or even death. Even when the condition is treated, there is still a risk of complications, such as premature birth or low birth weight. That's why it's so important for pregnant women to be closely monitored by their doctors and to seek medical help if they have any symptoms of preeclampsia.
"What's her chances?" Sebastian asked, his voice trembling with worry. Before Dr. Albert could say a word. "Is there a cure? Will it stop her from conceiving? Damn it, she's my last card doctor. He couldn't help but feel a sense of dread, knowing that something could go wrong.
"It's hard to put an exact number on the chances," Dr. Albert replied. "What I can tell you is that there are many women who have had preeclampsia and have gone on to have healthy pregnancies. It's not easy to predict what will happen in any given case, but I want you to know that there is hope."
Sebastian's face lightens up when he heard that there's hope. "That means we go through with the transplant ?" His voice sounds urgent and intensely curious.
Dr. Albert continues
"It's not ideal, but it's good that the condition has been diagnosed. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to improving the outcome for both the mother and the baby. If Ms. Smith will go through with this transplant, she will have to be placed under an experienced medical team and she has to follow all instructions carefully. Then her chances of having a healthy baby and a healthy recovery are good. But, it's important to remember that every woman's experience with preeclampsia is different, and there is always some risk involved"
"She can conceive, but should be taken care of intensely," Sebastian asked just to be sure he got everything clear.
"Yes, Mr. Sebastian, should I inform her about her condition? Dr. Albert asked, unsure of what to do.
"No! Don't tell her, she might refuse to do this, my inheritance is at stake here. Let this be between us, I'll pay any amount just for these to be between us still she delivers.
"You know, it's against my job ethics to hide a patient diagnoses." Dr. Albert refused.
"I'll give you, any amount you ask, and even more. Sebastian pleaded the more
"Alright since it's you, I'll do this, but remember she needs intensive care." He repeated.
"That's not a problem," Sebastian said. Placing a smug smile on his face.
"Follow me to the Laboratory," Dr Albert said leading the way.
A few, minutes later.
"Congratulations," Dr. Albert said warmly, shaking Sebastian's hand. The intrauterine insemination(IUI), was successful. You'll become a father soon. You have to wait for a little while, she had been sedated, it will take a while for her to regain herself. Please remember all we've discussed," Dr Albert reminded him.
"It's not a problem, thank you so much doctor, you just made my day." He said his voice filled with gratitude.
Sun set, casting a golden light over the turquoise water. Palm trees sway in the breeze, and the scent of tropical flowers hung in the air. The guests are gathered in the Caribbean beach, chatting and greeting one another. The music begins to play, as Charlotte walks gracefully to the alter, to meet Sebastian who had been waiting for her, for the first time he noticed how beautiful Charlotte is. She looks radiant, in her wedding gown, Sebastian eyes light up as he sees her. "I was a bit scared, I thought you won't show up." Sebastian said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Charlotte's face was expressionless, and she said nothing. The silence was deafening, broken only by the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. Finally, she spoke. "Can we just get this over with?" Her voice was curt, her eyes cold. Sebastian's heart sank, but he nodded. "Yes, of course," he said, forcing a smile. The priest cleared his throat and began the ceremony.
"Charlotte," the priest began, his voice clear and steady. "Do you take Sebastian to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, for as long as you both shall live?" Charlotte's gaze was fixed on the priest, her expression inscrutable. "I do," she said, her voice soft but firm. The priest turned to Sebastian. "Sebastian, do you take Charlotte to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, for as long as"For richer or for poorer, in times of joy and times of sorrow," the priest continued, his voice resonating through the church. Sebastian's eyes were fixed on Charlotte, his heart pounding in his chest. "To have and to hold, from this day forward," the priest said, his words taking on a solemn cadence. "Till death do you part?" Sebastian swallowed hard, and took a deep breath. "I do," he said, his voice unwavering. The priest nodded, a slight smile on his face. "Then by the power vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the priest said, his voice ringing out over the church. "You may now kiss the bride." Sebastian turned to Charlotte, his heart in his throat. She looked at him, her eyes cold. Slowly, he leaned in and kissed her, his lips trembling. As their both lips touch, he felt an electric shock all over his body. He looked at Charlotte who's eyes was tightly shut, enjoying the flow. The priest's voice brought them back to the moment. "Ladies and gentlemen, it is my great pleasure to present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Sebastian!"
As the congregation applauded, the newlyweds walked out to meet with some family friends
