There rested a revolver. It was right beside the book that was written in an unfamiliar language.
Jeon honjok slowly approached the desk.As he stood in front of it, he examines the materials that was rested above it, his attention then turned exactly towards the revolver, picking it up carefully. he inspects it thoroughly. He picks it up by its grip, and opens the cylinder of the gun, checking if there were any bullets inside of it, and there was, only one.
Jeon honjok questions himself
"Why is there only one bullet? Was the duke planning on killing himself? Although i dont think there was a time where i wrote that the Duke would commit because he had no good enough reason to do so.." Jeon honjok was confused as why the Duke would do such thing. It was as if the Duke knew something. As if he was planning on writing his own story in this novel.
"But thats impossible!..why would he do that in the first place..? Did my own character..create it's own consciousness..? No.. that's just impossible, they're just characters I made, they're not real, they dont have their own consciousness.." Fear and unease only built up as he continues to think about it. The Duke, Flovius Alexander Venuleius, was a mysterious man, and Jeon honjok wrote him as one, Jeon honjok wrote him like that, so Jeon honjok is responsible of this character.
Did the Duke know something? Did he regain his own consciousness or something? How can a character of the novel 'Yearning Hero' , the same novel Jeon honjok wrote for the the past 12 years, commiting himself to finishing the novel. How could one character of that novel even have its own way of thinking? The questions in Jeon honjok head just began to pile up, one after the other.
With that, Jeon honjok only felt more anxious with the situation he was in, and with the Duke aswell. Jeon honjok thought that, the only way to find out was to continue the progress of the story, regardless in which part of the novel he transmigrated to, he needed to know everything.
Nevertheless, Jeon honjok was determined to know the truth. "I will find out what happened and why it all happened..!" He clenches the grip of the revolver for a short while, he had a firm grip on it and he softens his grip as his attention went elsewhere, the book with an alien-like text that was used to write with.
Jeon honjok tried to dug deeper into the memory of Flovius Alexander Venuleius, remembering what text was this, as he continued to think deeply, the throbbing pain he felt before came back as he thought and thought. His memories were like fragments of shattered glass. It was as if Duke Venuleius went into a post-traumatic amnesia, although why would he though? Just what did this Duke do? That even the author himself is unaware of the actions this mysterious Duke made. Jeon honjok blames himself for not being able to progress the character more, he regrets not paying more attention to his own character and only focused on the protagonist, not even bothering to pay attention to the side character, and now karma came and he has no idea what the Duke, the character of his own novel, was even doing as the main protagonist was progressing with the story.
The pain grew more as he tried to put the pieces of those shattered memories together, yet he didn't stop, he continued to think and put the pieces all together. And his efforts were not futile as he finally remembered what language was used, it was the Arcadocypriot dialect, Jeon honjok tries to remember his reason as to why he used this dialect, and he remembered he read about it on the internet that the Ancient Greek was a pluricentric language, divided into many dialects and one of the main dialect used was Arcadocypriot. He thought it was cool to use this as the main language in his own novel, therefore the official language that was used on the novel was Arcadocypriot.
The alien-like text slowly became understandable, as they turned into symbols that Jeon honjok could actually read, they were no longer just random symbols, but a text he could finally read.
Jeon honjok puts down the revolver he was holding on to and pulls the chair from under the table and sat down on it. He thoroughly reads the text written on the yellowish colored page of the book. As he finally understood what was written on it, he reads the words..
'This world is just an illusion, thus i shall be the one to make it a reality'
Jeon honjok felt inexplicably horrified and uneasy. He instinctively stood from his chair. He nearly fell down from the sudden movement he made, luckily his balance didn't disappoint him as he went out to reach the edge of the table, having a good grasp on it. Jeon honjok sighs in relief and slowly sat down at the chair once more, although he kept a distance from himself and the book.
"Why in the world did the Duke write this? Did he actually know about the world he lived in? But thats impossible.." Jeon honjok tried to reason with other things, gaslighting himself, not wanting to think that his own character would know about the world Jeon honjok wrote, the same world Duke Venuleius resided in.
Although he thought about that, the illuminating light from the moon made its way to his room, although small, it made a light that directed it's way to the corner of the room, there was something that illuminated the moonlight and shined.
Jeon honjok quickly noticed this as the light shined at the dark corner of the room, making it hard not to notice it, as the light flashed a little at his eyes, making Jeon honjok squint his eyes at the slight flashing light the object made.
Jeon honjok stood up from where he sat on and slowly walked towards the the object that illuminated the moons light. As he reached the corner of the room, he kneeled down to further inspect the object and he picked it up, it was a fountain pen, but the color of the the ink used was rather in a deep red, it was a bloody ink! Blood was used as the ink of this fountain pen, although who's blood was it? Was it the Duke's own blood? Although why would he use blood when he has a whole bottle of ink there at his desk?
Jeon honjok thoroughly inspects the design of the pen, the name 'Venuleius' was imprinted on the body of the fountain pen, clearly showing whom this pen belonged to.
