"..... Okay?" I muttered, stealing glances at the shelves around me, making sure no surprises could happen. It's been an hour since I got here, and disturbingly, I haven't seen a single soul...
I've actually been stealing in peace for the last thirty minutes!
It's just so strange; why hasn't anyone attacked me for so long?! Though I would have loved that, given that I am in no way strong enough to defend myself against powerful opponents, I still have a goddamn mission to accomplish. So just come out, somebody!
Pum!
"AHHH!"
Fuck!
[Be careful what you wish for.]
I rolled out of the way into a more blocked-off space.
Shit!
I looked at my now-injured leg and cried out in pain.
Tsk.
It was an arrow shot tight through my kneecap.
Damn! I'm crippled.
I looked left, then right. I spotted a bandage in one of the shelves ahead, but it was too far from where I was.
Hm?
But why hasn't the bastard who shot me come to finish the job?
[You really are a big fool. The whole place, just as you said, is teeming with students looking to score points. But everyone also knows it's not safe to come out in plain sight, so to them, you're probably doing what you're doing because you have enough power to back it up.]
".... Fuck!" I cursed again, then gripped the hilt of the arrow, biting down on my lip.
And then...
"MMMMMMMMMM!" A stifled scream escaped my lips as I pulled the arrow out, and just then, blood began to gush out. However, I quickly brought out my lighter and tore the sleeve of my uniform.
"This is going to fucking hurt," I thought as I began heating up my makeshift 'spear.' If what the system said is true, then this is the best time to treat this. Everyone would probably be extremely cautious due to my attack, reassuring them that there were really others in here waiting to score points.
I folded the torn cloth and stuffed it in my mouth, clamping it down. I then began heating up the arrowhead with the heat from the lighter, twirling it ever so slowly to ensure the heat was evenly spread.
"Hah," I sighed internally, and then...
"MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!"
Pain.
Pain you wouldn't want to imagine. It felt like my mind was being forcibly ripped apart. I felt pain more than I should, and it made me feel like I was losing my mind.
"Hah... ha... ha... hah..." I panted heavily, then wrapped the torn cloth around my leg.
[Um... You do know you have two healing potions at your disposal, right?]
"What...?" I asked with a pained croak.
[According to the instructor, once you are in the virtual world, your graph watch is meant to offer you two healing potions, two mana rejuvenation potions, two smoke bombs, and a weapon of your choice.]
"... What... WHAT? AND YOU WATCHED ME GO THROUGH ALL THAT?!" I asked, feeling as though I would burst into tears the very next second.
[Well... sorry, I didn't know you skipped that part of the instructor's explanation.]
"And I made this...?" I asked in anger, raising my makeshift spear.
[....Well... I thought you wanted to test your survival skills.]
"Bastard... he did this intentionally. But why... just to see me suffer? That doesn't make sense; it should profit nothing in making my already hellish life more hellish. But... could it be that he was the one who intentionally made me miss everything the instructor said?"
[I can hear--]
"Shut up and tell me... what are you really here for...? Why were you sent to me?" I asked with a serious expression.
[....]
