Guin and Aileen had arrived at Sephania's house, located on the border of the South and West districts. Both of them were carrying white lilies and wearing black robes. Guin glanced at Aileen, trying to gauge her sister's emotions. During the journey from the cafe to this place, Aileen had been quiet—whether her silence stemmed from anger towards Guin for opposing the Alpha or because Aileen was dreading meeting her deceased friend's parents, Guin couldn't tell.
In contrast to Guin, who always shut herself in the library during school breaks, Aileen preferred to socialize and befriend everyone—Sephania was one of them. Guin wasn't close to Sepha, but she knew the girl was kind and affectionate, even though some people made fun of her for coming from a common family. Sepha never took advantage of her friendship with Aileen to improve her family's social standing. and Guin could feel her sincerity.
The Woods household, although elite lineages, kept a low profile to conceal their true identities, considering Guin's survival from the fox clan massacre and Aileen being the daughter of a dark magician.
If the higher-ups of Unbound Havens learned about this … the Woods household would have to face unimaginable consequences. That explained why many youngsters approached Aileen and Guin to build a relationship with Woods.
The Woods household, particularly Mr. Woods, an expert in potions and poisons, and Mrs. Woods, skilled in defense and healing, was highly sought after due to their otherworldly abilities. Not surprisingly, there would be many who wanted to have a good relationship with the Woods, and no one would dare to bully Aileen or Guin.
Despite many trying to forge relationships with the Woods, Guin could sense the hidden intentions of those who approached her. Aileen, on the other hand, welcomed everyone but was quick to discern any malicious intent.
Sephania, Aileen's classmate, hailed from a low-class family and worked as a servant in high-class households in Unbound Havens. Despite her background, Sepha was kind and genuine, forming sincere friendships with Aileen and Guin. She was the only one Guin accepted as a worthy friend.
"Guin, why are you looking at me like that?" Aileen's voice stirred Guin's thoughts.
"Are you okay?"
"How could I be fine? You just offended him... the Alpha King. I still haven't scolded you about that. For now, I want to think of a way to make Sepha's family not feel too depressed. I'm sure Sepha doesn't want her family to be glum for a long time, but ... I'm not good at this."
"What are you talking about? You are the sweetest, smartest, and the most empathy toward people around you that I have ever known. I'm sure Sepha's family will be very grateful that their daughter has a friend like you."
Aileen just gave a small smile, acknowledging Guin's praises. The girl took a deep breath and knocked on the door three times. After waiting for a while, the door opened—revealing the figure of a girl around their age with a pair of wide eyes.
The expression of disbelief was immediately replaced with a squeal of joy and enthusiasm, and the girl immediately hugged Aileen, who was still stunned in her place. Not only Aileen but even Guin was also rooted to where she was standing, feeling sure that her eyesight was playing tricks on her right now.
"Aileen! How did you know I was home? Guin is even here?" The girl loosened her embrace and looked at her two friends in astonishment to see their teary eyes. "Why are your faces so gloomy? And why are you dressed all in black? Are you going to visit someone's funeral?"
Several seconds had run after the girl greeted them with a bright smile. However, neither Guin nor Aileen reacted.
"Hey, why are you girls quiet?" The girl shook Aileen and Guin's hands rather hard to wake them both up from their reverie.
"SEPHA!?" The two girls, who had just recovered from their shock, screamed in unison—not expecting their classmate—Sephania, was still alive... and especially healthy.
What a miracle! Even Sepha's iris returned to normal, showing a pair of beautiful ink-like black eyes.

Guin and Aileen sat in silence, watching Sepha and her parents—Mr. and Mrs. Moore, serving them biscuits and fresh juice.
The Moore family seemed to look happy... How could they not? Their daughter, who they believed had no hope, even had to accept the fact that Sepha was no longer human—in fact, she returned home as a completely normal human being.
This was something that was both extremely exciting and unanticipated. Guin never thought that a deformed vampire could turn back into a human as long as one didn't drink any blood.
Does this make sense? How could that happen?
"Thank you for worrying about our daughter," expressed Mrs. Moore after serving light snacks. "I'll let you girls chat. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me, okay?"
"Thank you, madam," replied Guin and Aileen simultaneously.
As soon as Mrs. Moore entered her room, leaving the three teenage girls in the living room, Guin immediately demanded an explanation. "Sepha, tell us what happened. We heard that all the deformed vampires had been eradicated, and you... how did you get out of there? And when did you come home?"
Sephania chuckled at Guin's barrage of questions. "Okay, okay. I'll tell you. To tell you the truth... I, myself don't quite understand what happened either."
"What do you mean?" Guin felt increasingly impatient, as if she had experienced it herself, and wanted to know what happened to her as if she had amnesia.
