Chapter 10 - The Eye

Chapter Ten

The evening was young as Princess Bianca sat outside her palace, smoking her cigarette. Suddenly, a man approached her.

"My lady, you called me," he said.

She extinguished her cigarette and said, "I want you to dispose of that child. I can't bear seeing her around here."

The man took the infant into the carriage and left. Baby Ariella gurgled inside the carriage as he made his way towards the main roads, but the path seemed deserted.

The carriage rider noticed a log blocking the road, so he stepped out to remove it. However, he found himself back at the beginning of the road, riding towards the log again. This strange loop repeated itself, leaving him puzzled.

Meanwhile, hidden in the bushes, road thieves observed the same phenomenon.

"Do you notice what's going on?" the first thief asked.

"It's like we're stuck in a loop," the second thief replied.

"That must be some kind of magic at work," the first thief speculated.

"Here he comes, get ready," the second thief said, preparing for action.

The carriage returned, and this time the rider wanted to be sure of what was going on. As he looked inside, he noticed the infant's eyes glowing red. Immediately, the thieves jumped out of the bushes, prompting the rider to act quickly and turn around.

Princess Bianca noticed the carriage returning and wondered what might have happened. She approached and saw the rider looking distressed.

"What happened? You're back so soon?" she inquired, hearing the infant gurgling. The rider explained his strange experience on the road, suggesting that the baby might have some sort of powers.

Princess Bianca peered into the carriage and studied the baby. "I suppose you might be useful, but we'll have to test this theory," she mused, opening the door and lifting the infant out.

Meanwhile, at the Ashasin Academy, babies were lined up as the elders came to inspect them.

The Ashasin Academy encompassed three major sectors that powers the Ashasin magic. The first was the Elemental Ashasin, who adhered to the rules of the elements and the elemental spirits, which comprised five elements. The next sector is the Blood Ashasin, deriving their skills from their family bloodlines, which are subdivided into three families: Hassan, Kayan, and Thebes, each with their distinct abilities.

The third sector is known as Chaos Ashasin, delving into the darker aspects of power, where they learn to manipulate the unmanifested and utilize alchemy. Those who master the Chaos aspect are revered as Gods or Devas.

The academy had received new infants who might possess abilities from the three family bloodlines.

The Hassan lineage is renowned for their blood skills, able to summon, banish, and rebuke any benevolent spirits or entities, both good and bad, using their blood as a source of magic.

Kayan descendants possess remarkable eyesight abilities, characterized by two distinct eye colors. Those with blue eyes can distort perceptions of reality to their will, depends on the fears of their opponents and creating illusions. The rare red-eyed individuals possess one or two extraordinary powers, including the ability to manipulate time, foresee the future,or locate individuals. A red eye individual might one or two. And all their usage is determined by the amount of mana they might possess.

Lastly, the Thebes lineage is known for their immense strength, capable of both bestowing and absorbing energy through touch.

The children typically begin to show signs of their abilities by the age of five, although some may manifest them earlier.

As the elders went through the room, they noticed Tesh with his red eyes and were shocked, as it had been ages since they had seen children with red eyes from the bloodline families.

After from that there's a law that doesn't allow any bloodline marry each other because of foretold prophecies about a child of destruction.

Tesh observed the old men from his corner and wondered what the commotion was about.

After the elders left his corner, they met with the instructor.

"Ahisto, keep an eye on that one," the first elder instructed.

Once the elders departed, leaving behind a room filled with babies, Ahisto approached Tesh's bed and gave him a wicked stare. "I'll pluck out your eyes," he threatened before leaving.

Tesh heard the threat and began to smile. When Ahisto returned and saw the child smiling, he became furious before storming off again.

Chanda sat in the interrogation room, her fingers fidgeting nervously as she waited, flashes of the incident playing in her mind. When a female officer opened the door, a man in a coffee-colored suit and orange tie entered and took a seat across from her. Chanda couldn't help but notice his unimpressive outfit, coupled with the smell of garlic on his aura, which she found repulsive.

The man smiled as he observed Chanda, noticing her tapping the table in a rhythmic pattern. Sensing his prying gaze, Chanda decided to stop.

"Chanda Anvesh, I hope I pronounced it correctly. I'm Dr. Philip Eden, a psychologist," he introduced himself.

Chanda grimaced at his last two sentences. "Do I look like I'm crazy to you people? Is that why you brought this man, who clearly has no sense of fashion, to talk to me about my mental health?" she said, her frustration evident as she glanced towards the female officer standing by the entrance.

"Miss Anvesh, it's not what you think. I'm here to clarify everything you've said and understand the logical reasoning behind it. Frankly, there's no evidence to corroborate your written statement," Dr. Philip explained, his smile seeming somewhat embarrassed.

Chanda lowered her head to the table. "Miss Anvesh, I hope you're listening to what I just said?" Dr. Philip continued, reaching his hand out towards her. Chanda grabbed his hand and retorted, "If you think I'm crazy, then I'll show you crazy." With that, she proceeded to break Dr. Philip's fingers one by one, prompting the officers to rush in to his rescue.

Subsequently, Chanda was taken to a mental health facility for evaluation. Inside the police car, she resisted fiercely, fighting and dragging her way. Upon arrival, she was greeted by large, towering women who seemed eager for the challenge and fresh meat. Despite her struggles, they managed to inject her in the neck, causing her world to fade into darkness.

In her dream, Chanda found herself facing a large dragon lady seated on a throne, who then transformed into Chanda herself, seizing her by the neck.

"You ate my apple, dear. I hope to see you soon," the dragon lady-Chanda said with a smile.

Chanda woke up from her nightmare to find herself in an all-white room. Then she began banging on the entrance and shouting staring at the camera that was put up.
