Chapter 36 - Assassinated (2)

The man nodded and left without saying anything. When he came out, the servants had already prepared the horse. The man mounted his horse and galloped away.

Watching the man leave in a hurry, the servant turned to look at the steward and said with a smile, "Boss, it seems we made a lot of money from this transaction."

The steward stroked his beard and said meaningfully, "Of course. But this might be that guest's last visit."

Having worked at the relay station for over three years, the servant had learned that knowing too much could get him killed. So, the servant didn't ask the steward anything and just smiled, then went back to continue his work.

After leaving the relay station, the man rode non-stop for several hours. As night fell, a group of people suddenly appeared and blocked his way. When the man saw that they were all holding swords and covered their faces with black masks, he knew that these people were assassins sent to kill him.
